Fantastic work guys! The end result is beyond my expectations. When I first saw the Buggy I said to myself "what a pile of junk" and now it's a shiny Dresden Green Diamond!
Excellent job .... looks brilliant .... the only down side to me anyway is the exhaust pipe .... I like twin horizontal pipes. Otherwise very well done.
Not normally a fan of buggy’s but you’ve made a fantastic job of this car, I had a mate nearly 40 years age used to fabricate buggies and modify the chassis’s and sell the fully built cars based in Harrogate.👍👍👍
@@ODDAutos seemed a lot of base colour, but I know from experience I repainted an Xr3 years ago in Kawasaki racing green🥲 painted once with white base primer , had to buy 2.5 lts more and do it again was sea through so there you go💪💪💪
You guys do some amazing builds. Personally I'd love to see more in-depth videos on each stage (because I enjoy them so much), but I totally understand how time consuming that must be.
It's all brand new , apart from the shell , gearbox, chassis , diff , engines a re build etc etc lol , love the show though lads , just found you guys only 3 days ago and I've watched about 15 vids 😀 I too do old cars up but not on your level and the things have seen have helped me in what I do so thanks for the show it's mint 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I was thinking green but since it had been a year ago, let's find out what you did pick !. 19:26 always a great sound. 37 cars ?! Once you build them, can't sell them to anyone, post the add and start the interviews. I understand I have hard time selling mine and many are projects.
I love the positive mental attitude of "We were lucky, we could've got a dog of one that needed welding..." as opposed to "We bought one and unexpectedly had to throw away an entire engine and buy a new donor." I suppose on the plus side you didn't have to throw away a clutch if there wasn't one anyway. V. impressive guys.
Yes if it was too rusty getting another floor pan and shortening it to fit the body or even just spending ages welding up the original one would have taken to long to do perfectly, we were proper lucky with that. An engine change is much quicker and at least I don’t get burnt off the weld splatter…. Just burnt my hand on the exhaust instead lol.
ABOUT 10 YRS AGO I HAD MY 1990 HONDA ACCORD REPAINTED LEXUS RED PEARL, IT AT THE TIME WAS $Y00 A GALLON. LOOKE AWESOME THOUGH, THEY ONLY CHARGED ME A THOUSAND TOTAL, GOOD DEAL I THINK LOVE THE GREEN. I had a dune buggy also, bought it from my neighbor for 500 bucks.
Really nice job fellas and thanks for being honest about the time line i'd rather see a properly finished project than a rushed slap it together to beat a made up deadline outcome.
It was a shame we just missed it on the time, couldn’t believe it when the wheel didn’t fit! Lots of swear words especially as I’d just waited for the bearing off the same supplier lol.

Can't believe you got rid of the screen!! Mad ! Also .. you gave the original roll cage a bit of stress for being bolted to the body but you just did the same to the rear of the cage?? Would also be interested to see how the front roll bar is secured??
Rear cage into the floor pan at the front then bars coming up either side of the gearbox from the floor pan to meet the back of the rear cage and it’s bolted through the body. Front also goes down through to floor pan.
it would be usual for the rear cage bars going back towards the engine to pick up a cross bar mounted to the old body mounts otherwise there is only glass stopping the cage going backwards in a rollover. It would also be normal to tie the front and rear cages together with a couple of bars either in the center or the outer curves of the cage. Not telling you haw to do it as what you did do was nice ..Just for peace of minds sake!! I was also interested in the comment of engine lift or some kit to lift the rear ?? What did you do there? @@ODDAutos
Looks great but really needed a windscreen. I wonder how you repaired all the fiberglass cracks, so they do not reappear through that expensive pain t job. Do you recover any cost by selling the old bug body?
You should have come to us, we would have sold you a new FF shell in a solid colour gel coat for £1000, would have saved fixing up the old shell and painting it
Congrats guy , it looks fantastic , Not meaning to be picky but Ive owned a few of these things & Im wondering why you didnt crank up the torsion bars to raise it up & rid it of the camber issue? It look great but its a pavement only vehicle with that low ground clearance
It’s about 2 inches higher now, still need a bit more on the front though but it’s now at maximum adjustment on the front beam. Also that exhaust is way too loud so will change that so I can use it more 👍
As a long time VW owner, and enthusiast, I fully approve of this awesome build! Looks great, sounds great! I bet it is a joy to drive!
Really incredibdle build. Green paint pops. love the design!
1967 VW chassis ,Fiber Fab shell, got one of these myself, absolutely love it,a keeper for sure.Great video lads, she looks really good.

Ahh cheers buddy, yes turned out better than I every thought it would. That green is super bright.
Excellent job .... looks brilliant .... the only down side to me anyway is the exhaust pipe .... I like twin horizontal pipes.
Otherwise very well done.
It’s got the twin pipes on now, it was way too loud with that single upswept.
Fantastic, you guy's are real legends. Very nice work.
Great looking results. Love the green paint - everybody will be green with envy.
Ha ha definitely! Won’t miss this in a crowd that’s for sure!
I know nothing about cars but I love a Beach Buggy and thoroughly enjoyed watching this two-parter. Very entertaining. Nice work, chaps!
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 👍👍 turned out mint
I'm intrigued by the South African number plates on the wall. Well done on the build. Mine took three months working solo.

Another fantastic video, and OK, the paint might have cost a grand, but bloody hell, what a result!
It’s proper nice in the flesh, the camera doesn’t do it justice. Was a shock when the paint shop guy told me the price though lol.

saw this at Practical Classics show, that colour is fantastic lovely job.
If I built a buggy I would want it to look exactly like that. Great build🙌
I was never expecting it to look that good! You boys really pulled it out the bag! 👏👏👏
Cheers Tom, did turn out brill 👍👍
What an awesome result, looking forward to seeing the next one.

It’s basically when the engine mounts bolt it lifts it up 2 inches to reduce the camber on the rear wheels when you lower it a lot.
never seen such a thing .. who makes it and what's it called?@@ODDAutos
Nice work lads. 37 CARS!!!! Okay lets have the list then. :)

Put resin over the top of the cracks to repair them properly 👍 still got the black beetle body, it’s sat outside lol
Curious why the lime mist paint can is only 3/4 full? Sweet Ride Guys! If I was anywhere close to you I'd buy $$ it.
Ordered 4litres and it came in a 5litre tin
nice buggy
