I had a 1964 and a 1972 original Meyers Manx doom buggy I wished I still had them, I loved them, this build that you're showing today is absolutely gorgeous the best of the best, I used many EMPI parts in my doom buggies. Thanks
New innovations, great to see the Manx is still evolving and being updated after over a half century of fun. The sand ladders are a good idea, a shovel would also be helpful.
I am a lucky guy with a vintage beach Buggy here in Germany. Its nice to see EMPI still does parts for next generations and spare parts for people like me (owners of vintage vw Buggy). Keep this way EMPI!!! Air-cooled greetings from Germany :-)
Beautiful buggy, no doubt. The cargo net is a terrible idea if someone thinks they are going to use that to secure a camping stove or other things that will get beat up and beat the crap out if the inner fenders. Ratchet straps with flush D-rings are what I am using. That roll bar is strictly ornamental without mounting to the floor pan. "Empi has all the parts" except those chrome tail lamp housings, wide five wheels and decent exhaust. I have those trumpets and they look dune buggy but cost power. We don't all have 2180s. Other than that, I love the thought that went into the interior controls and gauges. Primo.
I'm new to vw and its hard to get stock of anything in Australia..all usa companies don't ship here and Australian suppliers don't hold any stock..??? Nice buggy great work empi..
Metalflake Orange and Empi? I'm surprised there was no acknowledgement of the Empi Imp. Had Empi's history been wiped with the recently re-imagined business? I also see that the traditional white Manx exhaust has been swapped out for the action footage..
Andy thanks for your feedback EMPI featured an Imp at SEMA a few years ago, we honor EMPI's extensive aircooled history everyday-feel free to stop by the EMPI stand at VolksWorld to see what we are up to these days Rob@EMPI
It is back. Imp are sold out of a suburb of Illinois. Check acme car company that's where they are manufactured. Talked to the new owner at a swap meet. Looks like original, gauge pod on the hood.
Why doesn't anybody make a chassis for this? All these great parts and new body and we have to hunt down a crappy old beetle to build this thing. I'd probably just custom build my own chassis.

That seat concept is great as are the sand ladders. love the istrument panel too.
thanks Michael
Those seats aren't meant for long rides.
@@fernandomartinez5812 is that why they put them in Porsche Speedsters? actually a comfortable seat and we added a layer of foam under the upholstery

Love it. I’m waiting on more info from Meyers in regard to the Manx 2.0. I have my deposit in!!
We need more info!!

Beautiful build man .good JOB Empi ❤
ive got the perfect matching metallic orange 72 fender telecaster...
also, why didnt she make it into the mag?!
the only thing cooler would be make it a swimwagon !
The sound couldn’t be worse. But a nice Buggy 👍
Very cool build...
Why wouldn't you make a hard lid or a removable tub for the "cargo area" and then put the alloy rail on top of that for all weather extras
Cool!
I want those seats so bad for my buggy. What an awesome feature, is there a way to get them in the U.K.?
Used to read this magazine 30 years ago. Until it became 90 % advertising!

Bring back the Empi Imp

Why do you continue the music under the talking? STOP it.
You miss half of what they say and it's horribly distracting and useless.
@10.43 the guy is using a tool to install the push rod tubes, are these available please?
Spark plug wire removal pliers (?)
I want one
Same metalflake color as the old kids' tv show Wonderbug.
Basically the same buggy.
Would love to add a Manx to my stable.
Everyone wanted a Manx in their stable since the sixties.
Can I expect to find models like this leaning against my buggy once I finally get it out of the garage? 😂
I miss my "Speed buggy" lunch box...
Price?
Crooked front bumper drives me crazy
27 seconds in, its noticily off and would drive me crazy as well.
Named after the manx cat from isle of man I am manx man.
👍👋🇲🇽
i regret not buying a manx when you can get an ok one for $7k
