I remember my dad build one of the first Manx’s back in the day. He also built a Meyers Towd buggy kit when they were first introduced. I think my built over 25 custom buggy’s for people. I helped after school and learned a lot.
Every summer, in my town, when the snow has melted an original Manx can be seen ripping around town. It has the Stinger exhaust and nice mag wheels - perfect vehicle for a hot summer night !
Growing up a lady down the opposite corner of our block her son had bought a Manx dune buggies ( blue) and had gotten called for service and never made it back it sat for years with a cover in the side yard. Wasn't even close in years to buy . But love ❤️ at first sight appearance.
Brings back lots of GOOD memories fm H.S. A good friend built one of those things. We had so much fun with that thing, it's a wonder we didn't kill ourselves with it!!! 😘😉😂
Aaaad....subscribed. I first started watching you way back in the 90s when you built project Big Orange. Lost track of you around 2015 when I ditched DirectTV and started streaming. Happy to see you bringing content to RUclips now.
...always down for tool tips however I just use a proper breaker bar because 'tool-abuse' lessons beat into me as an apprentice....... Admittedly I still use the old wrench-on-wrench trick for extra tight space leverage though......
your tool tip was definitely a good tip, I have a 3/8 drive ratchet made by Husky tools that has a extending handle that makes it about 4" longer, and it adjusts to multiple sizes in between. I have also put a 3' pipe on that ratchet handle and pushed on it with my foot without breaking it ! I will never part with that ratchet.
I have a Proto 1/2" drive long-handle ratchet that has survived more egregious abuse than any breaker bar I've ever owned. I'm pretty sure it's made of adamantium with kryptonite gears, haha! I've jumped on that thing with a cheater pipe on it (I'm not a real big guy, but 150 pounds jumping on a 4' lever is still a LOT of force), never a complaint. The best part is that I found it in the web of a beam in a powerhouse I was working at, so it cost me nothing. If I'd bought it, I probably wouldn't treat it so mean, haha!
Been doing the tool tip forever, there's an easy fix to the weakness too, it's called a cheap socket and extension from harbor freight and mig welder.....
Built my own out of a vw when I was nine, 1965. Boat racks and never shortened it so I could carry my outboard motor in the back. Due to the flat bottom I could actually skip across small rivers if I hit the water at about 55-60 mph. Had a blast. First time I was ever pulled over by the police. The officer shouldn't outta have down that cause it cost him big time.
I could have sworn I remember a kit car way before the Myers Manx called the king midget. You could buy it mail order in popular mechanics and popular science magazine
Hey Stacy I’ve been watching you since you were a lot thinner and your hair was a lot darker Well I’m not so thin and my hair is not so dark anymore either glad to see you’re still doing what you love
My understanding it was not just the Government regulations it was the greedy California politicians that wanted their TAXES. They claimed the M.M. VW Dune buggy was a manufactured car, hence TAX. High taxes still goes on today.
I always wanted one of them. But as a teenager in the 70's in WV. And since they were no longer made after 1971? The only way to get one was to buy one that had already been completed. The only problem there was money & availability of the dunebuggy.
in the 80s I ran Pirelli P7s in 315/50/15 on 10 inch wide Centerlines. It would have been faster on 225s, but those 315s were crazy-wide and cool back in the day
My dads friend had one when I was a kid, yes it was a real Manx it was deep purple with silver flake, the engine was purple and chrome, the interior was black leather with purple stitching oh man it was gorgeous, unfortunately he passed in the late 90's and the car disappeared 😢
Bruce Myers was certainly a pioneer of the kit car business in the USA, but he hardly invented the concept. Colin Chapman was doing it over 10 years earlier, and the Lotus (Caterham from 73) Seven has been available since 1957.
Stacey, thank you for making these available to us on RUclips.
You bet!
I loved watching him back in the day, nevermissed an episode. Glad I found him on YT
Yes! 😁

I had one too in ‘74. What a fun buggy.
I love the tool tip in this episode! Im 57 and never even saw that one. It would of saved me a lot of trips out from under the truck!!

The Manx was the best looking buggy of the bunch. Hands down.
We love our '68 buggy. Most fun we could have with 50 HP!
Nothing is more fun building your own buggy and driving a vehicle you built
Excellent tip with deep well socket and extension for those hard to reach bolts on the engine. 🤘Rock on!
Very cool episode, the car looks like my 68 Manx my dad built and I restored several years back.

Love watching and listening!
MY neighbor has a FEW Meyers Manx signed by BRUCE personally
He also has a MANX 'SR' in 'GELCOAT WHITE' !!!
They only made 200ish!!
The og was originally steel but swapped to fibre glass, Mr Meyers was also a sculptor and that's why it has such cool looking wings .

I think this was the inspiration for the cartoon Speedbuggy...
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
That pipe! I have a 2 foot long inch and a half lead (!) pipe I've used as an extension for decades.

Great vid, really enjoyed!!! 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Love the rear view mirror!
Every so often during summer, you can still see these carts roaming the streets.
On the gold manx what are the tire size thks
Holley what happened to the 2 bbl 300 CMF Bugspray ? Best carb ever for Beetle engine.

Hi can you tell me tires sizes on the manx buggy please
I owned a MM at one time…….sure wished I had it back!
I love the wheel/tire set up does anyone have a idea of the rear sizes?

Way to go Ed great job looks amazing
Saludos desde venezuela un gran abrazo
I would like to know if you are interested in parting with that J series Truck in the background?

hi, where can I find spare parts?
Meyers-Manx is still in business, so I would check with them first!
Wasn't Speed Buggy one of these?
Very cool
What is the website? Nvm, I found it. Lol
Off subject but Stacy I'm about 7 years older than you and I'm curious is your favorite movie Joe Dirt? Cut mine off back in the 80's
Kinda gay to talk about a dude’s haircut.
I actually like Bruce Meyers Manx dune buggy kit.
What about the Bradley GT?
Meyers Manx came first. Bradley might be a good story for another time though!
I wouldn't mind one for a weekend toy.
I thought this was a video about dune buggies. Turned out to be a big commercial!
Can I still buy a Meyers max
They're about to re-release them.
My buddy has a few of them for sale
Signed by BRUCE confirming they are 'original molds'
My man. AeroKroil is the absolute finest penetrating oil ever devised by the minds of men (or women). You know what's up.

Hey Stacy...I'm a big fan...I have an 02 s10. I hope you will do a video of dropping a v8 in an s10
I like Stacy's shows but I'm not paying to watch him or anybody else on RUclips
The episodes will be free to everyone after they premiere on TV. Paid members get access before the episodes premiere on TV.
I think your first build was the wicked Willy’s
❤
This car is in GTA Vice City.
It's in every gta since three.
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
From drake and Josh season 1
DON'T screw up a good ratchet!!! 🙄
Use a breaker bar!!! 😶
Remember stealing the beach buggy bf injection on vice city
SpeedBuggy
Not a good idea to use a ratchet as a breaker bar. Just buy a breaker bar.
I guess I have not seen these video in a while. What is going on with the hair?
Dude, I love your show but the Twin B tire shop mechanic from 1979 called and wants his hair back! Chop that stuff off!
Volkswagen logo never had that stupid split between the V and W. Mandela Effect.
You probably ought to follow up on that statement with actually looking at a few VW emblems.
