I did this repair to my Air Javelin last weekend. I got a small increase in velocity but not back to specs. Screen shots of your video helped tremendously in getting the gun back together, so thanks. I did want to say that I wrapped my hammer in 400 grit paper and just rubbed it back and forth in both halves of the body of the gun. I didn't have the small belt sander that you used and it took more time but worked well. My biggest issue ended up being that my basement testing ground is too cold at 68 F to get the full velocity. When I put a couple of chemical toe warmers on my cartridge and watched it with an IR thermometer until it reached 78 F the gun went off like a shotgun, scared the crap out of me and buried my arrow all the way to the fletching (Was stopping about 4 1/2" from fletching). When I checked the FX Radar Chronograph it read 380 FPS. That's 55 footpounds. I'm pretty sure my cartridge was hotter than the 78 F I measured, so I think I'm leaving further testing until my area warms up some and I can go outdoors. One last thing. Umarex now makes a device that you can screw to a 88 gram cartridge and a check valve in the end lets you remove the cartridge without losing all the CO2. I ordered mine from Umarex and I think it's about $20.
Glad the video helped! The sandpaper on the hammer was probably safer than the belt sander anyway lol. I saw the co2 saver and I think it's worth every penny if your going to use the 88/90 co2. My empties are bothering refillable now so I dont really need one, doesn't mean I'm not going to order one though lol
I just got my Javelin HPA conversion squared away, so now I can fine tune it with your info/vids on the hammer fix and spring adjustments. Great in depth vids and thanks for explaining in detail!
Dude, thank you SO much! I just bought one of these and I'm sure at some point I may need to take it apart. It functions great, and I'm getting 290-300 fps, but barrel (tube, whatever) is just a bit off center. Doesn't affect function but it bugs me because I have a red dot on it, and I hate how it is off center. I was thinking about seeing if I can correct it, but I would have been afraid to take it apart. Thanks to you, I see it's not bad and can just follow your video. Cheers to you, good sir. 🍻
Stan Potter, if you take it apart you can loosen the sets crew that holds the barrel in and rotate it and just maybe, get it in the center. But I wouldn't do it unless it was shooting way off. Your welcome to join my Umarex Air Javelin group on Fzb and post pictures of what your doing with yours

I really thought the Javelin would be more complicated than it is. Glad they kept it pretty simple. @@kidpellet6544 well I got my Javelin shooting straighter. I took a video and when I get a chance I'll upload it. But I do have a question. When I had the gun apart I did unscrew those two grub screws that hold the gas tube in the valve. I rolled the tube on the table and it's straight as can be. So I put it back on and after I did my fix and got everything together I noticed when loading an arrow I can feel the arrow go over both of those gaskets at the rear of the gas tube. So I can feel two clicks as I load an arrow and when I first got the gun I only felt one. I'm kind of wondering if the barrel wasn't all the way in the valve body when I got it. So when you load an arrow on yours can you feel the arrow going inside both of those rubber gaskets at the back? Anyway, shooting straighter now and I think my groups even got tighter. Will post video this weekend.
@@stanpotter7764 I noticed the same thing but I just figured it was me not pushing it on all the way. So after I saw there were two orings I started pushing it on further. I bet a little silicone grease on the end of the bolt would help and make the orings last longer. Also, now I wonder if theres any real difference in fps pushing it on only the first oring?
@@kidpellet6544 I must have shot 60-70 arrows before I took mine apart, and I'm sure I was pushing them all the way and only feeling 1 locking ring. And now, pushing with the same force I'm feeling it go over both. Also, when I have an arrow loaded now, it only sticks out about and inch or less past the front of the gun. When I look at some of the pictures on the internet, the arrows are clearly sticking out further. So why would Umerex not mount the tube all the way back in the valve? It should be better supported that way, and it takes advantage of both of the locking rings. With the tube backed out a bit, the tube hits the front of the arrow and prevents it from going over both rings. I just chronographed my third arrow after a CO2 change, and it was 300.5 fps. That's actually a bit faster than I was getting before, but I did play with the power adjuster a bit, but I only moved it about half a turn so I doubt that did much. Very odd. But I don't see any problem as it is, so I'm going to keep it this way. Oh, also I feel like it's a bit more accurate after the fix I did to straighten the tube. I will post that video and put the link in a comment when I can.
Hi, using my sons account here. I opened my javelin up ..it’s a 5/32 Allen wrench for the hammer adjust screw. And it turns 12 full turns max.you will need to file down the slots that the adjuster tracks in. Otherwise it will not return back very well..also, I am going to try air Ventura’s qb79’s co2 bottle dropdown on hpa.
You deserve more subs and views and with the popularity I've seen with this thing, you'll get them. This is going to be very useful to many. As someone said, you are the mad Scientist of the AirJavelin, yeah. Although I would say you're the AirJavelin Wizard. What you've done with this thing is daring and ingenious, I love it. Finding it's faults or shortcomings and correcting them. This is RUclips content that is priceless, so useful. We need MORE airgun disassemblies etc. on RUclips. Not review shows etc. and pellet tests, lol. They have their place, for research on airguns and ammo and you want to buy and are useful too, but I wanna know how to fix it after I buy it! Lol. We have to these days as much as we can, because the era of "engineered to fail" is upon us in full swing, illegal, unethical or whatever, it doesn't matter they've found a way around it. The only way we are to keep our things going and get our money's worth (and create less waste too ultimately) is to fix things and brave and curious folks like you are the smart ones. Beating the system.

I started off just wanting someone to build me an airgun with my ideas and it turns out not so many "builders" are willing so I put a hacksaw to my first build, a Benjamin Maximus in 177 and turned it into what's been a really great bottled regulated FT pistol for me. I call it MadMax. With the cut down Maximus stock it kinda reminded me of the shotgun in the movie which I had just watched a couple of weeks earlier. Then I wanted to build a Benjamin Bulldog my way and couldn't find anyone to make the parts. That led to getting a lathe. A small mill is next I suppose as I cant fand anyone for that either. As far as the Air Javelin, the minute I saw it a knew I wanted to get one and convert it to PCP. I bet Umarex hates my video's lol. They don't seen overly fond of taking products they make apart. You should see what I did the they're beloved Origin. I exposed that little zest system and then cut the airtube and put a carbon fiber bottle on it. Oh yah, it's also the first 25 cal courtesy of my Avenger barrel. Lots of ideas and projects started just not enough hours in the day.
have you check the part for air restrictor? see umarex 68 shotgun velocity mod, there is a small plastic cylinder inside those metal cylinder, you would need to open the metal cylinder
It has none at all. I took the one out of my shotgun and found another co2 restricting part in the end of the gas tube right where it goes into the valve. Unfortunately mine has blown the oring out of the valve. Cant find it lol
So i want to buy one but is it going to give me trouble where i need to take it apart .?these guns cost like 180.00 plus tax .shouldn't have to fix them .?
Joe Henry I just put co2 in the 88/90 gram tank because it wouldn't hold much more. Even if you could put 2000 psi in it the cast aluminum valve in the gun wouldn't handle it. Now if you had a regulated paintball tank you could tether it to the 88/90 gram cartridge and shoot that way. Also you could probably fill the cartridge to around 900 psi and get a couple of shots out of it before you had to fill it again, if you didnt want to leave it tethered
This one was actually being pinched by the plastic housing in that area. Probably going to make a guide for the hammer out of some plastic or PVC tubing also

I got a 9 inch 5/32 on Amazon. T-handle that you cut off 1/2 inch or so off of each side of T-handle
