As a die hard duramax owner i admit the new dodges are really nice, your point about duramax emissions versus cummins is very true, and the fact cummins is much easier to work on versus duramax or powerstroke and overall i wouldn't be dissapointed in the least bit with the new ram especially the one you got. That being said keep making good content i enjoy listening while im at work.
So happy for you, I remember 4 years ago when I bit the bullet and got a new Laramie Megacab. I just paid it off last month. I am glad you got what you wanted and like I always say: buy once cry once.
Congrats man! I love the Night Edition Trucks. Looks so awesome without chrome. The Aisins are great transmissions too. PD Diesel puts 400-500k on the aisins and pretty much all the mileage is towing.
My boss has one only 10K on it now still smells new. I used it to tow a 26 ft about 15 miles it was effortless! Great smooth ride really quiet! Was a dream to drive. One of these day I will have one. Great job and waiting for something you want.
Im excited to see you pick up a 2021 HO. I just bought one too, got a 3500 dually HO 4.10 gears in delmonico red! Freaking love it. Just installed a 48gal rds aux tank / tool box, and ordered a bd 3.0 throttle booster for it.
Me and my brother are die hard Chevy guys. he wound up giving dodge a try because of the interior. he got a used 2019 dodge 2500 limited that only had 2k miles on it. and he put 24k miles on it and 15k of those miles was hauling big car trailers and such around the East side of US. He tuned and deleted it and didn't have many bad things to say about besides not much power and the transmission is 100% garbage. The way them trans shift is weird and everything about them. It started acting weird down shifting hard with no trailer and he doesn't beat on the truck and as I'm typing this he just Headed from where I live Buffalo NY to Texas to trade it in on a 2016 Denali lml and is on his way back with his new truck. he went older cus lml is a great platform and we both hate the new body style GM trucks. Not meaning to say you bought junk but just be aware, and congrats on the truck I hope u have no issues. [ Edit ] ~ yes ik he got the Aisin trans. There prob better than the 68rfe. I've got no first had experience with them so I couldn't say but tbh dodge has yet to impress me with a trans
Congrats brother awesome truck! Glad you bought the truck YOU wanted, no one else can tell YOU what YOU like. I'm also glad you drove other trucks and gave your opinion on them, so again YOU knew what you liked and didn't like between them.
I looked at all three, ended up with the 3500 black diamond Denali, Ford did not do much for me . I struggled to fall in love with that solid front axle, VT roads are junk and just seem to give me a disconnect and/or dated feel. But...I could see myself in a Ram someday. We run a couple 5500 rollbacks at work, so plenty of seat time with the Cummings. Good review 👍
Great video, I’ve test driven many alternatives and agree with the outdated interior on the Ford, the gear hunting and hesitation did not make me feel comfortable. I put a deposit on pretty much exactly the same spec truck as you + the sunroof. Will be picking it up sometime next week.
Good choice. Looks absolutely wonderful. Still loving my 18 srw. Great towing compacity loaded and great fuel mileage unloaded. I was able to get 23 mpg hand calculated on a 1k trip here a month ago
I keep building that exact truck on the website just to look at that gorgeous interior. Ram has really, and I mean reaaaally stepped there game up on the interior. Couple years ill buy a megacab to better fit the family. Till then my 07 5.9 is my daily workhorse and it just keeps going.
Josh big congrats that's one awesome truck thanks for sharing it with us personally I'm way to old for all the new technology i would have to sit on my driveway for about a month to comprehend what was going on with the truck LOL as an old school truck driver my first cruise control was a slab of concrete on the go pedal 🙃 As always God bless you and your family and stay safe out there 🙋♂️ 🇬🇧
And one reason you got my subscribe and you get my likes is due to the fact you tell like it is!! “No shame in saying the bank owns part of this”. Yes sir. Thank you for admitting that. And that new truck feeling is awesome!!!! So yes congrats!!! And you guys keep up the great work!!!
The aisin is fine, but don't baby it because it has an acquired memory, and if you tow, it will be sluggish on the shifts if you break it in too gently. That's what the guy on the PD diesel channel discovered.
What's the payload on the truck? I got a '13 megacab 1-ton and payload is 4160lbs. Just curious as I'm thinking about upgrading to something very similar. Thanks!
Supper nice truck . I like to hear what you think about the 6 speed transmission after you work the truck towing . I really like the smaller gear split than a 4 speed automatic . Does the transmission have two over drive ratios like the Allison does . The transmission along with the e brake would be a nice feature . Great choice
Super sick truck bro.... In the market for a 3500 srw myself.... Was really leaning towards the Denali.... But now that Allison bitched out and sold their name to GM I'm really looking at the Cummins/Asisin package🤘
Good and only choice in my opinion. congrats Josh! Sure hope it fits in that garage I would have trouble sleeping at nite with my new baby outside. I live in the rust belt and that doesn't help things. looking forward to the content
@@horsetorquesdiesel haha right. Unfortunately I had zero idea of them going back to the cp3 once I bought mine. Tough break. Excited to see what you do with it.
Happy for you. I hope it treats you well. I don't think I'm good enough for that truck. Big question, will you keep it stock... I will be hunting soon, for a 7🌳 Excursion though...
Good job getting the HO/AISIN. I have one (2017) and it’s a fantastic combo. Actual medium duty engine and tranny. I haven’t heard good things about the 68rfe.
There are a few out there, what did yours come to on the order? I pick mine up Friday. Found it last night. Called them today to setup the purchase. Nothing better!!! Nicest truck I have seen live. It’s unreal how nice it is. Pickups are what a Benz was in the 80’s. Great job fellas.
@@thedoctorks70 I checked on mine last weekend and still set for late April. The truck is built but waiting a brake clip replacement piece in storage before shipping. I order a fully built limited with the HO and Air Ride. The only thing it doesn't have is the sun roof I never open. Total was like 89k and I got $11.5k off. Crazy money to be honest but I've been saving for years and have a trade in.
@@horsetorquesdiesel the biggest reason we decided against the new one was the emissions components on the new trucks beings how I work on over-the-road trucks all day long and that's their biggest problem is the emission system Really dig that all black on black.
@@horsetorquesdiesel honestly my company truck is an 18 ram 3500 drw 4x4 and it's been good. A couple of computer hiccups with the emissions due to high idle time but nothing horrible. 210k on the clock and counting. And it weighs 14-16k at all times.
Man, nice truck. Loving the night package. I have a 21 High Country Duramax on order and the LBZ is leaving the stable. I do have concerns about the emissions on Duramax as well. I’m having second thoughts.
Just ordered a new 22 Ram 3500 Laramie Mega Cab SRW HO Cummins. Can’t wait for it to arrive in another 12 weeks. 😖 btw the towing capacity was 2200 lbs more than the Limited, with the same options as the Limited 🤷🏾♂️
When it comes to buying a truck you should always get the tow package just because it comes with the transmission cooler the only bad thing with the new truck if you go diesel is putting Def and all the new restrictions with the emissions they're coming out with really puts a problems if you like putting performance aftermarket parts and it's nearly impossible to find a stick shift trucks today. I only buy Ram trucks have a 01 Ram diesel extra cab long bed with Gale Banks performance 04 Ram sport hemi also loaded with performance parts and a 2014 Ram sport hemi that lately has been going back and forth to the dealer it's a 1500 fully loaded but has the coils in the rear and it's squats like a bitch. I recommend if you're going to tow a trailer or put anything in the back go with the air suspension and ALWAYS USE THE BEST OIL and stay on top of it constantly change the oil because my 04 with every performance parts basically on the market runs better then my stock 2014. NICE TRUCK GOOD LUCK 👊👍

You think its plenty to pull 2 car enclosed trailer instead of getting the dually?
