@@TheBlizzardcat It's easy to remove the badge, but it sometimes leaves an outline. They just shouldn't put it on. I don't know anyone who likes them, it's just their because dealers want their name on it.
Great job on the detailed comparison! For some reason, I like the Laramie led headlight accents on the top and bottom better than the limited... But I have to admit that limited interior looks really good. Also, they payload difference likely comes from unique springs between the 2 levels. I'd bet that the Limited rides a touch softer than the laramie. Again, great job and content.
@@supporterofsanity I still don't trust it. It can be completely removed in many cases, but not always. I had one of these dealer badges on one of my cars. The average person might not care, but I'm the type that's hard to please. Dealers just shouldn't put them on period.
emdec55 when we’re spending this kind of money on a vehicle we shouldn’t be forced to advertise for the dealer. They never put a sticker on so all was good. They did use a license plate frame with their name which I had them remove.

JB your videos have been hugely helpful for me as I research Dodge Ram 2500's. Probably ordering a Laramie 2500 Night Edition this week and you have helped me with that decision. Keep up the great work!
Saw another difference. The Limited's backup lights on the top of the cab. Beautiful trucks. I just drove a 2500 yesterday for the first time. It had the Cummins...WOW. The thing is comfortable, much more than my 2018 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel. I want one.
Thanks for sharing, the high mount is available for both trucks but still good observation. Yea driving a Cummins was the nail in the coffin for me lol 👍🏾
I got the laramie but not the limited edition and can't be happier with it. Actually went to dealership to buy a new sport but my salesguy was still busy with another buyer so another salesman tossed me keys to the newest one on the lot they got in that day and told me to take it out for a drive while I waited for him to wrap up. After 10 minutes I got back to the dealership and was like, yup I want this one lol. Paid about $10k more for the laramie over the sport but the black and chrome just pops and love the accent lights that are on the mirrors that shine on the ground when you open the doors and the lights inside the doors and middle console that are on at night when driving around.
What's Up JB! It's been a while since i last communicated with you,.. but i wanted to let you know i settled on a 1500. It was the Ram dealership's owner's truck. He upgraded to a 2020 and put the 2017 for sale. The truck still looks, smells and drives like new. It's bright white with a limited style grill and the black and cattle tan interior. Oh something else, the dealership offered a full replacement insurance in the case of theft or total lose and dig this, the vehicles value goes up 5% per year for 5 years. That means that if it gets totaled or stolen in the 5th year, i will be worth 25% more than when i bought it and I'll get back all my money plus that 25% !!
Both are beautiful trucks. Part of me prefers the tradesman or big horn without the leather, moonroof etc. Don’t want to worry about getting in the truck dirty or putting things on the roof.
i have a 2012 now which is my 3rd Ram Cummins. First thing I did on all of them was to strip off all that badging. I agree that dealer badge would be the first to go. They look way better cleaned off. I have had several people stop and ask me whats different on my truck. After I point it out they are like "yeah thats i. Much better looking that way."
I went Laramie just because of the grill/headlights look cleaner (only option I like better on the Limited is the gauge cluster) My 2020 night edition cummins laramie has more options than several limited trucks today (that chip shortage really cut down on the options available for 2021 and 2022 trucks.
You cannot get air suspension like on the 1500s. You can get automatic level rear air on the HD. Not the same though. You can also get the doors on the center console. That’s not only limited.
Put that limited up Against A Laramie Longhorn edition.. the Longhorn interior blows both out the water. With actual leather seats that patina over time.. just my opinion. I'd get a white or black Laramie Longhorn 3500 (no dually) megacab loaded with every option available. If your gonna spend 85,000$ give or take spend another 15 or 20 and get what u want so u wont regret it one day.. its gotta have cab lights , the high output Cummins, and the Aisen transmission. Unless I could give them enough money to put me a 6 speed manual like they used to do.. ram held on the longest I just hated seeing the manual trans option go.. chevy , ford already have 10 speed automatics. That real leather dash in the limited will be a pain in the ass to maintain. The sun will dry it out and it will need constant treatment with leather conditioners. I prefer the Laramie for durability sake
I ended up getting the limited black appearance pack a couple days ago. When dropping 80k less then 10% price difference is nothing. Way easier to find a limited with every option then a laramie too (and trust me air suspension was hard enough to find as is).
Trying to decide between a laramie and limited during the chip shortage. Dealers are being ultra stingy, even on a custom order. Might just hold off until things loosen up.
When I ordered my limited that is one thing I hated about getting the night edition package, was I lost the fancy door handles. It makes a difference! Should give us the fancy handles on the exterior, instead of chrome inserts, have them blacked out, still would look better! This dealership seriously puts their tags right under the Center Ram logo on the tailgate? That looks hideous! Tell them to stop. I would remove that tag before leaving the dealer, and normally leave dealer name tags on. lol
Both trucks look awesome and I would be happy with either. Ram should put better tires on their trucks than those crappy Firestones. Had a set on my 1st 2500 HD and they just don't last. Super job JB on the video and review. Thanks for sharing.
I wish they would at least consider an optional off road tire as the Firestone’s look small for this truck. Biggest issue is the wheel is only 20x8 so you can’t go much more than 295. Thanks Ric 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork a more off-road A/T tire would be better. They don't have to go taller. Something like a Cooper Discover A/T 3 XL would be better than those Firestones or a Faulken A/T 3. Something much better than what they put on the trucks now.
Great video as always JB! I have a 19 limited HD. I was going to black it out exactly to the specs of the OEM. Would you recommend that route or just ordering the OEM parts and do the install myself?

I watched about 60% of this video and realized what a good buy I got on my Tradesman 2500. Why do I need leather seats and a bunch fancy door liners and other useless expense? My truck has 18" rims. Good enough. It has a Class V hitch and brake controller. Good enough. It tows 14,750 pounds and has a payload rating of 3,250 pounds. Good enough. It's a gassed with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Good enough. It has the UConnect with 8.4" screen. Good enough. I could go on, but I think this makes the point. My out the door price was $39,446.

The older limiteds also had a Berber type carpet vs the fuzzy polyester style. Same with the floor mats. Nice thing is the most decked out models are the last ones to sell so at least prepandemic that was worth a $15+k discount.
Nothing prettier than a Black truck rolling of the showroom floor, problem is they never look that good again. That's why I went with Delmonico, a little easier to keep clean. With a black truck, you end up spending more money at the carwash than your monthly payment LOL
The chevrolet 6.6L against the ram 6.4L. Thats funny I was looking into getting one of the chevrolet's but the engine is so detuned that its comparable to the ram 6.4L. If you watch truck guys on RUclips they did the monster mountain haul challenge with the ram 6.7L and the ram 6.4L came out on top. Chevy came in second and fords time was way below chevy's.

Great review as always JB ram really gives you a lot of options if you do the research you can find a really nice truck best Bang for the buck I shopped around in my local dealer I was actually looking for a big horn but got a Laramie cheaper than everybody else's big horn And of course had to get the brilliant white
@@JB_WhoWork I called a couple today and the said their is a chip shortage so they can’t complete the trucks that are being built. They had to change some of the packages.
JB Reviews thats true. I miss the cross hair grilles...for one it was iconic. Also the grille frame was all the same and you could replace the inserts prettty cheap. Could even find aftermarket inserts that looked oem.these appear to be all one piece that has to be replaced. Probably not worth the cost. I do prefer the laramie wheels over the limited. I think they look so much better. But i love the limited interior, i wonder if you can remove the open center console slider and replace just that piece with the one with the closeable cup holder. Not sure how to remove it tho.
Yea those were pretty slick. I think for the price point, the LTD is a better buy if you add a bunch of options to the Laramie but if you keep the options light, the Laramie is a way better buy. If you do switch the console, the trim pieces won’t match the rest of the interior. Wouldn’t be a bad aftermarket fix though...
My Laramie black edition has 1849lbs payload. It is actually quite frustrating... it is a heavy duty Ram 2500. It is supposed to have more than 2,000lbs payload..
The truck will still have a 10,000 pound GVWR. That means your trucks very heavy and weights 8151 pounds. Thats where the 3500 comes in at. With the 12k GVWR which would give you 3849 pounds. FCA could pull a ford and cheat the 3/4 ton market and make the gvwr 10850 and loose all the tax and legal benefits.
@@Rommer2258 yes, that is why there is 3500 class. the diesel takes away about 1k lbs payload. I think FCA should compensate the payload loss somehow. I don’t know much about the legal and tax benefits.
@@LeeFamTV if they bump the gvwr of the 3/4 like the other 2 manufacturers did, they'll technically only offer 2 class 3 trucks. Its just the life of the 2500 class truck. Mines like 1930 lbs. And i have a 2015 truck.
@@LeeFamTV there's lots of bizarre things when it come to towing. In like 32 states if your gvwr is over 10000, you are limited to a 12k trailer. Plus in a few states its exponentially more expensive to register a 3500 then a 2500
@@Rommer2258 that is great to know. I remember I worried about commercial license requirement for 3500 class in some states when I decided to buy 2500 instead. Thanks for the note
Great review JB. Question for you, 1. Are you seeing a premium asking price for these trucks these days? If yes, do you think its because inventory is low? A local GMC dealer is saying that because inventories are way down here in Colorado that no one is giving incentives to move these trucks. Supply is tight be of the virus stuff and inventories won't be back to normal until mid-September. Are you seeing the same thing?
Thanks 👍🏾 it’s possible dealers are using this time to take advantage of lower inventory but it’s not to the point where you should accept rebates and nothing else off. I would consider reaching out to 5-6 dealers and see who can get you in your price point as inventory is on its way back up 👍🏾
i dont understand what you mean by the higher the price point the more discounts you get ? the price goes up with every option you add s where is the discount

Nothing prettier than a Black truck rolling of the showroom floor, problem is they never look that good again. That's why I went with Delmonico, a little easier to keep clean. With a black truck, you end up spending more money at the carwash than your monthly payment LOL
😂
Great job!
Third break light / cargo light is different on the back
It’s available for both trucks
You should do a review of a ram 6.4 with the eight speed towing your fifth wheel so you can directly compare it to the Chevy gas 6.6
You missed the third break light that was another difference in the rear lol
They both come available with that
Awesome review!
Thanks Derrick 👍🏾
Didnt see floor containers on either are those add on's?
Damm JB I could be your baby brother if you get a 2500 Blacked out limited 😁 ..great review as always bro..by the time you haggle with negotiating you can get the limited for the same price..
Lol thanks!
I saved 18,000 on my 2019 Limited
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 that’s about what I got off good job!
How did you you get that discount? What dealership was that? I’m just now looking for a new truck. My local dealer is offering $4k off msrp. 😏
Chris Evenson I was lucky it was advertised 18k below sticker. It had a July inspection sticker and I bought it in January so I believe they wanted to move it.
timnweber
How did you do that even?
Chris Evenson it was on the lot from July to January
Laramie long horn is the killer
If you spend 80k without getting a HO with the Aisin in a 3500, then you’re making a terrible mistake. Currently in 2021, there is no negotiating.
Do any of them come with the pano roof?
Out of curiosity I’d I ordered Laramie with the led lights and they the same as limited
They are different headlights between Laramie and Limited
80+ grand...down payment for a house???
i thank about it 800%
What's the towing capacity? On the 2019 limited?
Whatever a couple ford's weigh.. lol
3rd brake light is diff too
That is a upgrade for both trucks 👍🏾
Sorry but mirrors up look hideous. If you need mirrors sticking out that much to back a trailer you might want to check your skill level.
I like better the limited
tail pipes are different to
limited leather is napa, high quality
And the 3rd brake light is different
Great review as always JB ram really gives you a lot of options if you do the research you can find a really nice truck best Bang for the buck I shopped around in my local dealer I was actually looking for a big horn but got a Laramie cheaper than everybody else's big horn And of course had to get the brilliant white
Thanks Matt! I agree with you, RAM has a truck for everyone and this generation is gonna be pretty timeless. Congrats on your truck bro 👍🏾
Why can’t I find a gas Laramie 2500 for sale anywhere near me. Especially one with a 12” screen and 360 camera
Because dealers are diesel crazy still...
@@JB_WhoWork I called a couple today and the said their is a chip shortage so they can’t complete the trucks that are being built. They had to change some of the packages.
Im assuming you can Get a laramie or bighorn and buy a limited grille, spice up the look.
This is true. Grills for RAM’s are not cheap though...
So are just going to forget about the 3rd break light?
That’s available on both trucks
Great video
Thank You!
Also, the white lettering on the blacked out truck is gross. Why aren’t those ghosted?
Whenever you buy an optioned out truck, each option has an “invoice” price therefore increasing the discount figure
Such a low payload for an HD truck! ☹️ It's really the only major drawback on these Ram Cummins trucks.
Yup!!! That’s why I keep making videos so RAM will fix it!
Dose air suspension have a better ride on a 3500?
It does help at highway speeds but at Lowe speeds it rides slightly stiffer
They look very good dirty just like that 👍
Good Video
Thanks Mark 👍🏾
