I have to add my two cents! I got to do one of the last great pulls with this rig. I drove it to California behind the 84’ Honda civic. Pulling a flatbed trailer with a Honda side x side on it (about 5k). I was very impressed! Hardest part of the trip was the last part, LA traffic. Tommy and Kase were zipping through all the traffic in the little Civic. The Ram held its own in that crazy urban environment. Very comfortable and confident driving that rig! The exhaust brake worked excellent though out that stint. Who ever buys this truck, will not be disappointed!
But remember, he got rid of the Colorado because it was a bit too small when it came time to vacation and other family needs. This Ram, especially with all the mods, is probably just too much for those needs.
@WW… Not just the price difference but also with the Tundra he could do a trade-on and paid taxes on the difference only. He would have paid probably $3k more in taxes if he sells the Colorado and pay taxes on full purchase price of the RAM. Altogether, ge RAM would have cost $7k-$8k more at least.
@trevor… I have no problem with the addition of Jen and Mary but the topics they are boxed into with the attract women videos were terrible waste for them. When Jen stuck to the actual review of the Honda Civic in first video. She was great. She does great reviews. This other, girly bubbly stuff I can’t stand. Hopefully it’s just a fad on this channel.
I thought that beast was going to a permanent member of the ranch - I guess all vehicles are "temporary" Bye trail hound! It was fun! Will be fun to see what’s next!
3 years?? Wow, that went fast! I remember watching the video when Roman went to get the truck. I wanna say that either Tommy or Nathan was with him, but I can't remember, but I know it wasn't Andre. Awesome!
Two things. Who cares about a drag race between trucks not designed to be race cars. Number two: you’ll not get any more money for a modified truck vs stock: maybe even less. That being said that’s not a bad price and Andre, thanks for good vid.
While yes you are right, it's not JUST about the drag race itself. It's about what that means: who can accelerate into a highway better pass more efficiently etc. If we go by your logic we can say that about every single metric of any set of like vehicles. Like for these trucks you should only care about payload and tow capacity everything else not important. And at the very end it's content. For the engagement and likes
@@tollav I don’t disagree with the content. Everyone enjoys a good race. Even the tortoise and the hare. But… does someone looking for heavy hauler really care if they enter highway speed half a second faster than one that hauls 500 lbs more?
Hey TFL, I really enjoy your content and I have seen that you have bought and sold a lot of cars and trucks recently. Could we get a fleet update on the cars you currently own and what you have just sold? Thanks
You should’ve taken the deal and bought the Ram 2500 over the tundra I have nothing against the tundra great trucks but the ram with the cummins on a different level
@ Agreed if i was to buy a Tundra id go with the V8 over a new one and Im on my third cummins Ram so I am kinda biased and all the stations around me have diesel for filling up near me isn’t a problem
I'm really sad about this one 😢 I got an 18 Big Horn 4x4 Cummins last year, same color and your guys' '22 was such an inspiration behind me getting mine. I guess all good things must come to an end 😢
While I'm glad Andre ended up with the Tundra, I half expected him to gnaw on taking this truck and the video ending early. I would have been seriously tempted, too!
That payload is terrible compared to the competition and it seems obvious that it went well under 2000 with the aftermarket adds. I bought a mid trim 2023 Chevy 3/4 ton HD and its payload is 3400. However, I was seeing similar payloads in comparable Fords.
These trucks respond really well to custom tuning. Would have been fun to see them get some calibrated power emissions compliant tuning to wake it up. Mine has been lightened up and tuned but nowadays you don't need to remove emissions systems to get good performance.
I remember saying at the time that the lift and tires and all the other crap didn’t make sense.. Interesting to hear you say that stuff didn’t make it a good off road rig.. Not surprised.
@TFLtruck did you find that you worried about the notorious trans oil temperature issue or broken bolt in engine issue - any chance you can do a video on stats on those?
Too many people have their phones set to automatically connect to Bluetooth for that truck, overloading it. Just delete all other devices it is connected to and your own phone will stop having issues. No vehicle is designed to connect to everyone’s phone in the office simultaneously, but most are not tech savvy enough to go in their phone and set the truck to not automatically connect when nearby.
As I work on ford's system daily. Most issues are Apple related and yes..too many paired devices and some apps corrupt s/w causing brainfarts in system
I mean it’s meant to be a work horse. U can take it off-roading but that’s not its primary function so doesn’t seem like a big problem to worry about. But it’s a really cool truck.
Have a 2018 version of this truck we bought new. For the second time the screw holding the cargo camera in place has vibrated out allowing a leak to soak the back seat.
35k miles on a cummins ain't nothing, even with the heavier add ons. That truck should go 500k miles with little issues. $49k is a decent price for an upgraded bighorn.
I rode in a Ford F350 6.7 power stroke and wow what a difference! Cummins and ram should be ashamed of their selves for that gutless slug! The Ford is so much better! I was shocked by the power/torque and acceleration! Ram needs to step up big-time!
So what are they going to replace it with ? , and what happens to the bed toppers that they add are they on loan for the manufacturer for short time or what ?
Have been waiting for this day but that Colorado tax on the truck just isn't worth it for me. Hell I'd give you 45k and get on a flight to Colorado this weekend
At the time this thing was purchased, I believe I thought it was for the right reasons.(at least initially)But I never believed it was truly going to be utilized as a "Ranch" truck for long. It has been used a lot. And got a lot of good truck type use out of it. However, I was very disappointed that it was heavily modified. Weighing it down with all that armor and bigger tires, etc. The payload as noted was never superb to begin with. Adding all that pointless weight for views ruined the work truck that it was meant to be. Even Alex admitted it lost more of its capabilities as a result of the mods. The steps as practical and necessary as they are for how tall this thing became, is a double edge sword as it ruins your break over angle for off roading. In essence, what was once a work truck has been modified into a pavement princess for views. I am sure it will find a good home fast. But this is not going to be in my driveway. lol
Sadly you can still by a NEW 2022 Ram at many Dealers lots. Now that is sad that they haven’t figured out that it’s better to drop the price than letting them rot on the lot or get infested by nature.
Although the Colorado hey let go was by his own admission a bit too much on the small size for his family man needs, I suspect this RAM might be too much of a truck with all the mods.
