Fernando Alonso doing what he is doing should be no surprise considering the car he may have and the driver he is. It's obvious he has lost not much of the speed he has always had. Aston Martin may be the suprise team for sure. A suprise driver would be someone who does a much better job than expected especially if he beats a teammate that was considered better
My prediction is Sky will still be biased to Merc and LH(over GR) and if you're a sky pundit don't have a love in with RB or you'll end up Paul and Jonny.....sacked
The issue here lies in the fact that LH is from literally the same city as Crofty and GR is from literally the same city as Brundle...so like...neutrality for Merc and LH + GR is impossible from a broadcasting perspective.

Going up.a step amongst the very best is an incredibly hard thing to achieve, so it is a surprise. People competing against the likes of peak mercedes, red bull, ferrari, mclaren, williams and lotus weren't goofing around. But still, how many teams managed to even engage in a title fighting stance?

its a sad sad place f1 is in when you can sit and definitively say somebody is going to win it and everybody watching knows you are right, THE most exciting part of the whole season is the possibility aston might be up there somewhere but when we realize its a pipe dream after race 1 it will be back to the boring grind.
