Hoping to attend a race one day! I don’t even know how I got interested in F1. I think I randomly saw a race clip on IG and voila! Loved the excitement of fast cars and the science behind them. I haven’t watched DTS yet but not sure if I will.
They touch on a really good point at about 9:15, following the dominant years of Mercedes in F1, sales in AMG / Mercedes cars was significantly higher. The brand that was once associated with berline cars for old men was now seen as this performance brand.
Love how Sara asks Horner"What happens to the car after the race?"......Horner goes..."They last for one season and they go straight to a museum." Her reaction priceless...beautiful sport....
When I was younger (i'm 29), I used to watch NASCAR alot but after a while I got bored and stopped watching it. I've never watched F1 before so I'm gonna give it a chance and watch the Las Vegas Grand Prix
F1 is more action and chaos. It is also more pretentious drama. In NASCAR out of 100 drivers you can justify calling 2 or 3 "Ah01es". In F1 all the drivers are "Ah01es" but you overlook that to like one.
Actually I recently found out that 90% of the F1 team sell there cars at the track to the highest bidder so they don’t have pay to take it back to there shop for example if you have to fly a car to a country they would like to sell it so they don’t have to pay to ship it back and the money they save and make they can put back in the team
firstly thank you very much for your tutorials. Can you indicate a book or training focused in technical analisys? I'm a beginner and I need to learn more about it to be a good operator on this market. Thank you!
Incredible video!! It amazes what a " well-oiled machine, " F1 is! Not without challenges, of course. But, I'm amazed at how the sponsors are the investors, who then benefit from the brand advertising, and so on, and so on. Then we all benefit from the technology that ends up in our cars. I love the way you so simply explained the way it all works. Thank you very much for sharing. It's certainly interest and knowledge of F1. Have a great day. 😊
I'm an American. Auto racing has always interested me but I have never found one that could hold my attention. I tried Nascar back in the 90s, it bored me. I tried Indy car, it was cool but I couldn't connect with any of the teams to stay interested. This past year I gave F1 a try and I instantly became enamored. I can't get enough of it. We're currently in a lull because Singapore ended last week and Austin Texas isn't for another 2 weeks. I'm going nuts with no F1.
Nice zinger at the end, Horner! "They'll be back, kind of like the Terminator..." And while not Austrian, I can certainly hear Wolff saying this with much the same accent and attitude Arnie did, lol!
I think the 10 team get about 2 billion dollar from F1 owner Liberty media with Ferrari leading the money at over 300 million possibly 400 million. The engine manufacturers likely earn about 15 million per client team (but they get extra uncapped cost as an engine manufacterer not listed) I guess that sponsoring will bring about 30-120 million in income for teams. And commercial activities might bring them 10-50 million as well. The teams cost about 240-400 million to run each year. Capped 150 million for the race team, cars and engines 50-120 million for the uncapped costs 25-120 million for the drivers plus 2 or 3 big earners in the team that are exempt
Very interesting. Would love to see this exact outline used to describe F1 in 1968. The only race I have ever attended was Monaco that year. I was a foreign exchange student. We all sat on the terrace of the casino/paris restaurant and ordered horse meat hamburgers. Didn't know it until later. It seemed a small and comfortable racing. There were many beautiful people there, I wondered which ones were spies.
I'm really going to miss Guenther. He was the biggest star at Haas. Gene will regret firing him. I feel for the team and drivers who'll struggle more without him
theres a new anime called OVERTAKE that actually explains alot about the formula racing background from the eyes of a japanese journalist/photographer. i think they also talk about how the teams sustain and make money.
I've always been curious about how the Formula 1 business works. Very well done documentary.! Liberty Media Corporation is an American mass media company founded by John C. Malone in 1991. Formula 1 generates revenue from race promotion fees, media rights, sponsorship fees and ancillary sources, such as Paddock Club ticket sales and shipping cars and equipment outside of Europe. The business model of Formula One is based on the organization and promotion of motor racing events. F1 is a global sport, and its races are held in various locations around the world. Teams get most of their earnings from sponsorships. Each team has several sponsors that contribute millions of dollars. 🤝
Smaller teams also provide technical assistances for other non-automotive industry-related clients for profits. I'm surprised this documentary didn't mention that.
I cant help but thinking that once DTS ends (which it will) the temporary fans will disappear and F1 will return to something close to what it was 10 years ago.
Very valid point. But I disagree... The sport has blown up in the States because of the show. 💯. And I've seen a couple people kinda drift away. But, I think the residual fans are here to stay (I'm American, watching for 23 years)... I actually got annoyed when Liberty took over.. I thought they were going to americanize the sport (which they did in excellent fashion, by giving more access to drivers and not restricting social media posts, insights etc) they've made blunders tho, that Miami gp intro with all of the embarrassing attachments made me roll my eyes....the sports gonna continue to grow. I'm so excited, and I'm glad I finally have fellow employees and friends here in the States that I can talk to about a race instead of nba, NFL, and all of the other sports here... Hell, I had three people the other night at watching for the first time.. I loved answering questions for them. ☺
You talk with such arrogance in characterizing every person that became a fan after DTS. So you know the millions of new fans? What data and facts do you have other than your own feelings? Go cry some more because a lot of these new fans are here to stay.
@@jordan_m_wong don't get offended by these comments.. Been seeing them for years. It's kinda like... Those old metal fans. Or hip hop fans.. Or any kind of fan of that tries to gatekeep "their" sport... I've always welcomed newbies in all Of the things I love... We were once there too. Why would you try to deny new fans? It just doesn't make sense.. Yes, the Netflix series was over the top, but that's just editing and business.. I rolled my eyes at many points, thinking, yeah, that inchident wasn't that serious, ☺.. My bro is a huge fan, he loves his Formula 1 clothes we buy him as birthday gifts. 😊
Most wholesome thing I read all day 🥲
Sounds like a cool brother and family
@@esdrasmanrique6457 He us thank you. 😊
It's the answer to the last question for me 😂😂😂😂, "they're a bit quiet at the moment" 😂😂😂... 13:30
Great questions. Good interviews.
Love how Sara asks Horner"What happens to the car after the race?"......Horner goes..."They last for one season and they go straight to a museum." Her reaction priceless...beautiful sport....
Watching the Vegas F1 this weekend!!!
It’s kinda turbulent rn
When I was younger (i'm 29), I used to watch NASCAR alot but after a while I got bored and stopped watching it. I've never watched F1 before so I'm gonna give it a chance and watch the Las Vegas Grand Prix
F1 is more action and chaos. It is also more pretentious drama. In NASCAR out of 100 drivers you can justify calling 2 or 3 "Ah01es". In F1 all the drivers are "Ah01es" but you overlook that to like one.
nascar is so dumb, the same track every time
@@ned431 The cars are so matched, there's a lot of intricate strategy.
It used to be better but any racing is better than no racing.
@skyak4493 such a horribly naive perspective.
getting to know the different drivers and teams really makes it more exciting.
Actually I recently found out that 90% of the F1 team sell there cars at the track to the highest bidder so they don’t have pay to take it back to there shop for example if you have to fly a car to a country they would like to sell it so they don’t have to pay to ship it back and the money they save and make they can put back in the team
I fell in love with Formula One after watching the Netflix documentary. Now I can’t live without it.
Your average DTS fan 😂😂
@@formula1wow700 Now I understand what happens “under the surface” of F1 beyond the documentary, but I do appreciate Netflix for bringing me onboard.
@@formula1wow700I really dislike when people talk down to dts fans. Stop gatekeeping the sport man, we all have a different road to becoming f1 fans
How much of that is from strong arming businesses to pay them? Like they did in Vegas?
firstly thank you very much for your tutorials. Can you indicate a book or training focused in technical analisys? I'm a beginner and I need to learn more about it to be a good operator on this market. Thank you!
Simply F1 documenting of F1 sport . Good job CNBC
Great interviews, thoroughly enjoyed this clip, host was awesome.
Thank you for this CNBC 🙏
3:18 What an absolute balcony!!!
Yeah, who is that?
Was literally a comment on this😂😂😂😂
Where can we get an overview that shows how much ticket sales / media distribution / f1tv etc brings in? Is that a thing? Or is that proprietary info?
Fantastic mini-documentary. Quite informative.
This is a well-balanced insight into the sports.
How great it is to gain knowledge with you! Thank you very much
Loved the doco great production. can anyone tell me what transitions they used for the titles please Thanks.
Great interviewing skills, loved the questions.
“Its a bit like the terminator”. Horner imaging Toto saying “I’ll be back” 😂
CNBC, that was an absolutely exceptional video. Power to you all.
The comments are not wrong this was a really well made doc. Great job.
Coming from a 20 year F1 fan. This video was thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Thanks
At 10:13 he alludes to F1 being bigger than the English soccer league, I find that hard to believe without numbers to back it up
Nice zinger at the end, Horner!
The engine manufacturers likely earn about 15 million per client team (but they get extra uncapped cost as an engine manufacterer not listed)
I guess that sponsoring will bring about 30-120 million in income for teams.
And commercial activities might bring them 10-50 million as well.
The teams cost about 240-400 million to run each year.
Capped 150 million for the race team, cars and engines
50-120 million for the uncapped costs
25-120 million for the drivers plus 2 or 3 big earners in the team that are exempt
Amazing documentary…well done
Andretti coming on board will be great and Dodge should buy half of Haas. Swap out one U.S. grand prix and put it in an emerging economy.
Thank you for the time what you share with your subscribers also thank you for your signals You the best
Wonderful short documentary.
What is the music at the very start of the video?
Idk but the sound guy should’ve lowered it a little bit, could barely hear the dialogue lol
Great informative video!! 😍😍
5:15 Toto explaining aero dynamics of the car and generating downforce got me laughing 🤣🤣🤣 Only if it was that easy.
great coverage and video!
Great documentary! Congrats!
Great segment gang!🏁
Interesting, good interviews. I enjoyed it.
Moneygram found a way to market themselves 😂 Haas team team suddenly called Moneygram Haas team 😂
13:31 that was well said by Chris Horner, They'll be back.
CNBC generally give an excellent explanation of what is going on. Just watched the used car market episode prior to this one.
there is a sport ! isla mann TT , MotoGP, Redbull Airrace ( unfortunately is no longer held) WRC, Dakar Rally...
More in depth, please. T)
Miss seeing Gunther on race weekends, on another note, more U.S. companies should be backing the only U.S. team on the grid
Very interesting article on F 1 racing
Totally the community tips have been gold betting’s been great with all the insights and excitement
The way Toto explaining the W14 as an aero dynamic miracle is hilarious
how much was WeWork valued at?
Please re- introduce timestamps, they are very useful, CNBC !
f1 isnt on rapid rise its rising in america its been popular everywhere else
👍👍❤
Smaller teams also provide technical assistances for other non-automotive industry-related clients for profits. I'm surprised this documentary didn't mention that.
That "ha-ha" after "they go to the museum" is epic! 😊
Excellent one! Well done
“Doesn’t give me an edge, but it does give me an advantage” 🤔🤣🤣🤣, made my day
For a news segment to actually be accurate about F1 is refreshing lol
Great video!
I cant help but thinking that once DTS ends (which it will) the temporary fans will disappear and F1 will return to something close to what it was 10 years ago.
Facts 💯
But they play it up for ratings.... If even 5 percent of the new people stays and becomes lifelong fans, it's honestly just a plus. ✌️
