- We are at White Cottage PA on the Monongahela Railway as we watch a north bound loaded coal train pass with one of the new GE Super-7R's B23-S7 #2304 leading two GP38's, #2002 and 2003. The second clip is at Waynesburg PA. As we watch some of the train pass, we see hopper cars from Penn Central, Reading, Erie Lackawanna, Conrail and Cambria & Indiana. Including a 2 bay hopper. An MGA caboose brings up the rear. Video was taken 5/15/1990. Thanks for watching. Jackmp294.5™

Jack, you never stop amazing me. Brilliant video & sound. I must be getting old, cause I sure do miss trains like these.
There are a few local business over the years, but its mostly coal business that comes off the MGA today. Thanks for watching...
Beautiful sound,well captured !
@dragonriversteel OLD! Let me tell you about old. LOL. I know what you are saying though! I miss this stuff also. Today you go out and basically see the same stuff passing... Thanks for watching...
@CarNutandTrainNut2 Super 7's where rebuilt trade ins. If you noticed, they also have EMD trucks. I think some had Western Pacific heritage...
great video, sweet horn!
Thrilling1 cheers!
God that was a great railroad where nothing happened in a hurry
@NSHorseheadSD70 They got the strips about late 1988 if I remember correctly.
First time I see a not-FNM or not ex-FNM Super 7 locomotive. This engine is very common in Mexico.
The Super 7s were rebuilt from WP U23Bs.
@CarNutandTrainNut2 Conrail and NS had C-39s and CSX had one between in 2005 they retired it
Jack, when did the GP38s get the white stripe on the long hood?
@gypsyball Just a guess, but I would say in the 40's...
I didn't know they had some gp38-2s. Did they have anything else, besides the super 7s, and the gp38-2s?
They had some GP 7's as well. Before that, they had Baldwins switchers, and a few Sharks. Here is a picture I took of the GP7's in 1982. www.flickr.com/photos/jackdk/24976180827/in/album-72157659818315390/ , Thanks for watching...
Did this railroad ever haul any sort of freight besides Coal?
