- Street runner loaded coal train! Train running right down the middle of the road in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. CSX main line in the pavement in downtown next to the river. South of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I got lucky to catch this CSX loaded freight train. I was on my way to meet up with Millenniumforce in Strasburg, Pa and I was ahead of schedule so I stopped here to see if I could possibly film a train. The locals told me there are up to six trains a day here and that I had just missed one. I waited for a little over an hour before this one came. I was going to wait for two more hours if needed. This is another great catch to add to my street running playlist. Filmed June 26-2019 at 1:59pm. Thanks for watching! Please comment, rate and SUBSCRIBE TO JAWTOOTH!!

AAAAaaa! Those BEAUTIFUL blue & yellow engines! Gotta ring my cowbell for this one! This was a GOOD long train overall! I'm binge watching your videos! Watching videos from Speaker Police brought me to your channel & that's how I discovered you! Then added your channel. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching my videos!
Super long Coal loaded Coal train down the middle of town. I will have to get out my truck driving maps and find where this town is. Thanks Jaw Tooth, enjoy looking thru your Street running trains.
Have fun! I have a lot of them. I want to film more of them in towns that I haven't been in yet
sounds good to me.@@JawTooth
Street Runners are great! Fully loaded coal train on top of it.Thanks for the excellent video.
I wondered if they were Coke cars, but they appear to be coal. The Coke is much coarser, and apparently lighter, the cars used to transport it are higher, like the cars seen, but an extension is added to the top. I worked over 20 years at the Coke plant nearby, I've been in Elizabeth often in my life, I had no idea those tracks were there. The closest ones on the street I knew of is in Brownsville PA. Learn something new everyday. Great video, I'll be looking to see if they're still active, I'll take the grandkids there one day soon, and we'll wait for a train too. Thanks much for the great work.
Thanks for your comments! Elizabeth is a great place to watch trains and there are a couple of small parks in town where you can view the river. Thanks for watching my video!
Street-running trains are a wonderful enhancement to any community, and should be modeled in all popular scales. Cheers!
Thanks. It's fun to see good old southwestern PA. I am originally from California and Coal Center, PA. I lived a block from the tracks. Sometimes 30 coal trains a day all hours. They would get the house shaking pretty good.
Nice catch Brian, those locomotives had their work cut out on that train, I know them locos had approx 9,000 HP running the traction motors but that was still a lot of loaded coal cars. GO CSX
👍👍👍😎😎😎 Cary
Made me wonder if they had enough dynamic braking for that large a haul. Guess very flat terrain.
You were in Elizabeth in 2019. Elizabeth is far from Harrisburg where I live. You would go anywhere to see a street running train. Keep up the train spotting m
WOW! good for your video capture. Did you notice not one car had a flat spotted wheel! Out west here its easy to get a train with many defective (?) wheels pounding away. Congrates CSX!
Hello from Brazil! Very good videos!
I love street running. It's one of my favorite forms of railroading.
Nice video Brian! Street runners are the best! Thanks 🙏
A few months ago I was in Elizabeth, I saw those tracks and wondering if they were abandoned, great vid
Excellent catch sir. I do love a bit of street railroad, very rare here in the UK these days. Coal train was bloody huge. Thank you sir.
you always catch the neatest footage.. thanks again for sharing
4th car from last "crotch rot" .. must be the coal train I see come through Charleston WV once in awhile lol
Kevin Buchecker Comes every once and again through Huntington, too...there can *only* be one of those cars!
Lol
Dats perdy cool sheet bud! Not everyday ya have a train running down the middle of yer town! 👍👍👍👍
On my 62 Birthday Awesome
Happy Birthday!
I don't blame you for almost not answering the phone when MillenniumForce called lol
As always, an excellent job you do! Enjoy your week!
Brian nice video. I think the boy on the bike just gave you a friendly wave. Maybe he’s a cam fan . 😂 he’s probably going to ride his bike up the track and back to pick up some free coal to burn in the winter.
Beautiful Horn
Wow long heavy coal train with no DPU or pushers on the rear, those two engines were working hard !! Wooooooooooo !!
Thanks for watching
Very nice jawtooth that was cool keep up the good work
I love trains
Sad part is that's enough coal for one day of electricity.
Great video as always!!!!
Cool catch Brian ! you don't realize how big these trains are until you get close up to them , a monster long CSX coal train ! You got to have lots of patients living in this town ! I'm very surprised that it only had 2 locos on the front and no DPU's !
I live here and honestly it’s not as loud as you’d think, after awhile you don’t even notice it
Thank you for sharing always look forward to your videos :-) peace
That is an awesome catch. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video Brian.
Nice catch JT !
On the return trip, visit West Brownsville, PA (just south of I-70). The NS Mon Line street runs for about 3,000 feet. At Amity St crossing in Homestead, you have a choice of the 2-track NS Mon Line or 1-track CSX Pittsburgh Sub.
I am from that area. When I was real young I saw steam locomotives running down that street.
Awesome catch! Live action!
Coal is alive! Nice video, Jaw Tooth
That's one big daddy! it's so green n pretty there🌹 thanks for sharing
Wow, that was a long train!
Awesome work, great dedication to get your brilliant videos online for us all around the world to see. Wayne . New Zealand
DAM!!! That's a long train!! Driver probably fell asleep waiting!...LOL...
Very cool catch Brian.
Hey Jawtooth! My brother (Cincy RailFan Productions) filmed CSXs new Tier 4 ACEs going through Covington. They looked sharp!
Live Action, JawTooth.
Thanks for great video
I live across the river in Clairton. I hear these trains blowing their horns every day as they go through Elizabeth.
Awesome , i wish that baby would come up my street.
That's cool I love Street running
Big , long train. Great video.
Would love to know the concept of street running, railroads were there 1st before towns or this was their only ridaway available. Many of the old interurbans and street car companies used street running, not as many as there use to be . Need to do a study on why street running came to be .
It looks so cool, great video !

In this case it looks like the line went past a station; the tan bay-window building looks like a station to me, so may explain it. Check out 3:06 for one example...
worth the wait that was a long train!
Lol. I was raised in a house about a mile up the tracks in the direction that train is traveling. I freaking hated trains, but that's cause my house was literally like 5 feet from the nearest rail. Trains on this track are rediculously loud, and they don't understand the concept of a whistle, they rather lay into the damn thing for like 30 seconds or more.
Another good video 👌
Live action in my namesake! Love it!
Very nice coal train jawtooth some times u have wait for a good train to come by. Tc sir
Nice catch! :)
Hi. Glad to see your new video
Super Video Jaw Tooth 🇮🇳
Awesome coal train!!!
Great catch
Huge was right.. been cool to jump on one and ride it a few blocks.. cool video man..
Well, CSX sure can’t complain about you encroaching on RR property where you are shooting from!
Man, there is something weird about seeing something normally separated from roads run right down the middle of one like that
Now theres something a bit different-fire station I mean !!! Nice video of a coal train tho -think the lead loco needs a trip to the shops -way to much smoke-second loco had none ! Nice interlude Jawtooth ! These are what define your channel !
Train is actually running down hill. Its heading for McKeesport, which is north, toward Pittsburgh. The Monongahela River, which is to the conductors left, is flowing in the same direction. Thus, not a hard pull. Probably do a power switch out in Riverton.
Please add that all suburban fire companies are volunteer...that fire hall, equipment, and most importantly firefighters are Volunteer and equipment purchased through donations grants and fundraising
I noticed that in the sign on the building. I have the greatest respect for them.
Very nice !!!
Oh, my gosh-I have *never* seen this in real life!! Only in videos...do they also run those street side trains at night??
Wow, That was a long train, JT. When are you gonna go back to PAX and Thurmond, WV and film the CSX switching in full? Really enjoyed the first video you did there !!!
Eventually. I might be there this month or next month
Nice catch.
I still miss the caboose 😢
Got much night life in Elizabeth, PA?
Looks more like an alley way than a street.
jfreelan1964 That's what I thought too.
Obviously you've never been to Elizabeth or West Elizabeth south of Pittsburgh that's about as wide as all the streets are
Exactly! The only difference here in Erie, PA is they don't use them anymore.
Nope not an Alleyway , it is an actual street,.. First Ave to be more specific ,.( look it up on Google maps)
its a residential street
Hey Brian, had I known you were in the Pittsburgh area, I would have tied to meet ya. Thanks for posting.
Bob Gallo I’m from the Philly area
Good video
I see JC Penny's has their own car at 3:13~
Big like
Bonsoir Jaw très impressionnant train de minerai de charbon traversant un cartier d' Elizabeth tracter par deux diesels beaucoup de pollution en ville !! à bientot.
Loved the applause lol lol lol
I was there again on Saturday and Tuesday and I filmed 3 more trains. I am working on one of the videos right now so I can post it on Sunday or Tuesday
Nice video!
👍👍👍👍really cool
How long was this train Brian? the longest trains in England are only about 1/4 mile long due to congestion as we mainly run passenger services! but in the hundreds per day.
when you were over by the red care it looked like something moving up and down on the cars is that the camera your using or something else
That train was so long, I thought it would have a dpu on it somewhere.
The train that you miss would be coming on a return trip in couple of hours. Right across the River is Norfolks Southern yard Shire Oak in El Rama, PA
There must be a hell of a lot of stress and strain on the couplers near to the front of that train
Nice video! What happens if the train gets between the fire company and a call?
Gotta love those smoking ges
Very nice my dear TALENTED friend, thx for sharing!! best wishes...Reekashade💫
That was a loooonnggg train lol people must really hate the trains there in that town !I myself would love it!
I used to love trains. Till I moved in my current house that is! Believe me, the hatred came very quick.
Sheesh! That's a whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooole lotta coal train!
Damn that's a long train, I guess CSX trains take a few cues from CN Rail in Canada with insanely long trains. Lol
kool catch Mr tooth. Is it all coal on it
Hey Jaw Tooth I visited a small town in Kentucky today called Midway and it has RJ Corman railway right thru downtown between one way streets. Thought you might want to check it out sometime by the rails it seems like a busy line.
CSX(just 3 letters painted on the sides) sounds so impersonal...I remember when the engines had a brighter color scheme w/the profile of a cat(Chessie System) on them. I get it - it is a business, after all....but a brighter paint job would probably make the Internet generation look up from their devices for about a minute: "Oh wow - a train! Maybe I better get off the tracks." Then they can go back to catching #Pokemon or whatever the newest craze is. An hour plus wait for a train? Wish I had that kinda time :)
An hour wait is nothing. I waited 2 days for a train at Natural Tunnel Virginia and none went by in daylight. Only 2 went through and it was dark. Worst railfan trip ever. I got back last night.
Jabber Jaw 🤪. I wish; I would have known you where here in Western PA. I live only 5 minutes from this location. I would have gladly bought you something cool to drink ! Rick.
What a perfect place to hop a train!
WOW!!!!!😁😎♥️
Looks more like an alleyrunner!
Nice place to put dumpsters and pallets.
Man that's a lot of coal.
