Longest Street Running Train In The World! DPU Power Mid Train!

- Huge street runner train! Indiana trains! Heaviest and longest street running train ever with Deployed Power Unit ( DPU ). This CSX mixed freight is on tracks down the middle of the road running from Louisville, Kentucky to Cincinnati, Ohio. This has got to be one of the longest trains I have ever seen! Filmed in Lawrenceburg, Indiana February 22, 2019. Indiana And Ohio Railway local freight is also included seen waiting at the Seagrams railroad spur interchange and also seen running on CSX street tracks. Maybe not the longest train ever but how many countries have trains even half this long? Holding the camera that long turned my fingers red and they were so cold that they hurt and I could barely move them. I put them next to the heater in the truck and warmed them up before filming the second train. Don't miss my video of the I&O train along with tell-tales still standing in Cincinnati and some other cool stuff. Btw, DPU stands for Distributed Power Unit or Deployed Power Unit. Hi Brian from Jeff in Las Vegas, NV. Wow 😮 that’s quite a short train...... 😃
Excellent video Brian. Glad I didn't have to wait at a crossing for that train.
I hope someone counts the cars for me. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Not the longest train in the world but it sure felt like it standing next to it filming with frozen hands for ten minutes. Now that's what I call Live Action!
Jaw Tooth today is my birthday
But wait, there's more (coming!)
Happy Birthday ! @@dominictauane6482
Fantastic footage.
Saw one other of 244 cars. This is definitely the biggest. Wow. Hand held???. You are good.
Superb on the spot filming again -nice varied train too -glad I wasnt waiting at a crossing tho !
Thanks for your dedication.
3 locomotives and 165 cars. nice train.
A loooooonnnnnnnggggg one for sure! Good catch Brian.
When the jail was pointed out who else thought of Johnny Cash? "I hear the train a coming"
touche
I would like to play that song showing the train going by the jail. Thanks for watching!
This is a great video Jawtooth, thank you for the video.
You always do a great and interesting video Jaw Tooth 👍🏻 Thanks Stevie from the UK 🇬🇧

Thank you Larry!
Great video i love a good street run
Wow, that's so amazing to watch and somehow it's relaxing as well. ;)
Big train in the city
Very good video jawtooth
Thanks and live action!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Huge train. Longest I’ve seen was 215 car BNSF stack train in Fullerton, Ca. It had 4 engines up front, 3 DPUs in the middle, and 2 DPUs on the end.
But what constitutes a train? Surely that counts as three trains coupled together on the basis that a train is powered by locomotion at one end of it? You could make a train a hundred miles long by slipping in locos all the way down.
I started counting the wagons, but could not manage beyond 87 or 88! Long train indeed, running in the middle of the road! Nice spectacle shot with camera hand held for over 10 minutes!
HAHA! Saw the word "longest" in the vid title and couldn't resist. There are 164 cars plus 3 locos. Saw your comment and the first thought was, "Oh, great. Here we go..." LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty cool. Those CPL'@ are a va fishing breed. Kinda reminds me of Ashland, VA with the track surroby streets and sidewalks.
It is just like Ashland. Directional driving on both sides of the track also. The CPLs are being replaced on this CSX line so I need to film a few more spots outside of town while they are still there. Thanks for watching James!
Thats a cool town. Great video, Brian.
NYC great catch. LOL. A long one in deed.
I believe that the NYC reporting mark on CSX rolling stock is all former Conrail equipment.
Happy new week! 🚎
Ohhh yeah your videos are great.and yes i love their locomotives as well.ohhh can't wait to see your next ones.and your welcome👍👍
Awesome Jaw Tooth as always!
Thank you Jaw Tooth. I appreciate your sacrifice, seriously.
Great video!!!
I really enjoyed this video that was one of the longest yet, more more Encore
Great video Brian. That train had quite the mix of cars.Thumbs up!
Nice one Brian!!
Brilliant video
Great DPU action coming live!!!
It is kinda funny to hear a loud train in Lawrenceville, Indiana.
Nice Video! That ES44AC-H #3171 Sure Has A Nice K5HLL Horn
Also happy birthday Dominic !!
Man that trains never stops. It just keeps on coming.
Super video!
Actually we'll be going Dayton and Cincinnati ohio I always wanted to see the ccet railroad ever since your videos on it. keep up the good work man you do an amazing job!!!
Thanks! I have a couple CCET videos to post still. I have a good one where they were switching a customer in Macon and the switch was right at the crossing. The crossing gates and lights did not activate. I also have an old one where the gates and lights didn't work in Sardinia. I forgot to post that one. CCET is one of the most interesting short lines that I have ever seen. Their locomotives are really unique. Thanks for watching!
Nice video my friend 😀
DPU=distributed power unit and happy Birthday Jaw tooth.
Awesome footage
Thanks 👍
Great video JT!
What things you do for your great video?
Cold hands and all!
Your subscriptions are going UP!
Keep up to great work!!
BB
Buster Brown I can’t believe I have about 46K subs! Thanks for watching!
Wow reminds me of seeing the street running train in Burlington city NJ. Jawtooth, if you ever get to NJ stop thru there maybe you can catch a CSX street runner leaving Griffin pipe and foundry out there or a daily NJ transit train.
That's crazy man!
How cool is that...Good thing Detroit makes cars with back up alarms!
Great video
Hello Brian definitely a long train indeed , thanks for the great video , the second train was the local runner I assume , DPU Distributed Power Unit , close ! Try not to get run over OK !
Awesome 😎
Great Video
I live in Cincinnati and we don't get near the trains we used to. Sad, I love trains!
True, but you just have to look a little harder. Thanks for watching!
Wow that AWESOME VIDEO Jaw Tooth. I never knew that the longest street railroad. Thanks for sharing with us. Ten 👍
BTW sorry to all automobile had to WAITING. 😄
Thank you!
What sorry? It's a treat to watch the train. YOU watched it here.
@@mc3lizard
Yea, but some don't. I do mind because I love railroad. Thanks
Guess they don't have to STOP and Stop signs! :) Good video!
Fantastico video complimenti ❤ Jaw
Thank you Giovanna and have a great Sunday!
Nice shot of both trains.
Thanks!
Awesome train brian good shot man!!!👍👍😎😎
Thank you!
Your welcome buddy im gonna be up in ohio this coming Friday!!!
That is very long train with two locomotives pulling those cars. It's got to be at least 300 cars or less. Cool video I love CSX
I hope someone counts them so I don't have to. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting Andrew!
@@JawTooth you're welcome
Somewhere around 160-170 cars in case anyone was still wondering
That or
That or above 300
Think I grew a beard watching this
That is Nuts!!!
165 cars, about 10,000 ft long. Possibly Q574 or Q576. Great video!
Thanks. I like to count the cars, but I didn't this time.
No problem. I also like it.
Thanks for counting the cars! I was about to do it but now I don't need to. Lol. Btw, it was the Q576. Thanks for watching!
No problem and thanks for the symbol!
Sorry about that JAW TOOTH ! Either I am early or I am late ! LOL 😂 !
WOW! That's really a long Train :)
that was very nice
Nice Artwork, just think if we had an infrastructure program, we could put the artistic hoodlums to work painting a bridge.
For sure!
It would be cool to see that train shunting some cars on a rusty spur or two............
😬
I'm a big big fan of trains
CSX has been have way to much fun with the DPU’s
ever since Harrison started combining trains to save money before he died. Less trains but man are they getting long!
Jaw Tooth yea they are! You have no clue how happy I am that you replied to my comment!!
@@eastcoastrailproductions5559 It seems like NS and CSX have just started doing this the beginning of this year. I've seen CSX running DPU at the end of the train and NS running them toward the middle. Every day I see at least one of these.
Awesome! @@eastcoastrailproductions5559
Jaw Tooth I thought a lot of railroads are like I usually only saw like two locos and 80 to 100 cars no 2 3 or 4 with 100 to 160
I had some friends I met through the CB radio when I had a radio shop in my basement workshop. They rented a house next to railroad tracks here in Canto, Ohio. They would constantly complain of the train horns and the rumbling of passing trains. I asked them "Well, why did you rent a house next to the tracks? You should have known that trains are noisy?" Apparently that was the only affordable house they could rent as nobody else would live there and that's why the rent was so cheap. It also makes me wonder why anyone would build a house in a flood plain area that was prone to being flooded on occasion.
awizardalso
I grew up in a neighborhood in Boston where the trains ran by our backyards. You get used to it.
Good video my friend ;)
Hey Jaw Tooth, with your wealth of railroad knowledge, where would someone trainspot in Northern California? Thank you for all you do!
0:56 Nice K5HL Train Horn.
I was there. I saw it from Hollywood Casino. Awesome to see it run down that street in Dearborn. Jawtooth, you got awesome train videos.
The Norfolk Southern Co abandoned Dayton short rail that led to Kettering. Any chance they gonna remove tracks.
THEBLUELIGHTBUZZ I was there again today and got lucky!
Tu perrito 🐶 está bien bonito 😍
That is a very long train!!
Really more median running, but still very cool.
yes very long, but the longest train is in the book from Guines worldrecords some where.Whe had the longest pasengertrain here in the Netherlands. tanks for the nice coool video Brian.greetz:Peerke. oh about 160.230 en 160.320 i take one beam antenna from here to hopefuly to recive.
It's been in the upper 80s with a handful of places even hitting 90° here in Florida. No need to freeze your fingers here.
I'm planning on getting back down there in March. I sure wish I was there now. Its only 28 degrees at the moment here. Have a great week!
I couldn't resist. I saw the word "longest" and I "had to" count. 164 carso plus 3 engineso on that traino. Trivia: Had an engineer mention that the number of locomotives is mathematically calculated by what they call the "leading grade". In other words, the steepest hill a particular train will have to climb on its way to its destination determines how many engines are required to make it. This one here being THAT long with only 3 engines says the steepest grade on this particular route is "pretty decent".
LOL! There's probably a better way to word all of that. Somebody in the know will more than likely be able to shorten it all down to simply say, "Oh, yeah. That's one of those '____________' things," instead of the 647 bajillion words I used. PFF! Pretty interesting, regardless.
Good video
Thank you!
That, is one very long train, for a street-runner.
I almost forgot to ask. Can someone tell me if my volumes are okay? Is the music and talking set at the right levels. I am having trouble hearing.
Sounds ok to me.
Thank you @@anthonygermano9363
What'd you say? I couldn't hear your comment.
Check out La Grange, KY, or West Brownsville, PA. That’s true street running.
dude nice train long train god knows what the limit to pulling freight every day
what is the speed limit on that line
I am surprised that Lawrenceburg isn't a no train horn zone yet
Dam that train was long.
Thoughtful of the jail to provide railfanning opportunities to their, um , visitors.
If I ever get in trouble in Indiana, that is the jail for me as long as I get my requested trackside room with a window. lol
Jaw Tooth lol. Me too
Thanks for freezing your hands to make us a great video.
Plate C
Csx:Here’s middle engine!😎 8:27
Fun channel...had to notice the "jail", when they leave, you think those trains will be a target because of all the lost sleep?
What a train!!! ... What does a person who is facing an emergency with this train?. It is incredible that there is still a train track in the middle of the street.
Where the signal is, an underpass exists right there.
How long was it after the first train cleared before the second train went through? 5mins? 30mins? An hour? Even longer?
Jaw Tooth, Great Video. J.T. Did you ever consider mounting a tripod in the bed of your truck ? with a remote control devise; whereas you could sit in you truck and record your fine video's. (B&H Photo, New York. Just might have such a devise.)
Six Toes awesome idea!
How many trains cars were there also where you from and live? I’m in NC
Holly cow, huge train. How many in total?
Hey Jaw tooth I call them helpers or pushers . What dose DPU stand for? Keep em coming live action. Have a great railroad day
Dpu stands for designated power unit
@@biguncie Thanks, I didn't know either.
Thanks for watching Lesa!
@@biguncie Actually, it stands for Distributed Power Unit, motive power radio-controlled by front engines
@@biguncie Distributed Power Unit
Is there normally anyone manning the DPU or is the power regulated to the DPU from the front engines?
hi jaw tooth hey is it possible that train could have come through Winchester?
No. That train likely left Louisville over the 14th Street Bridge into Indiana via the LIRC (ex-Conrail). Then it switch the CSX (ex-B&O) just west of Lawrenceburg, In. The CSX line through Winchester is the CC Division that runs from Cincinnati to Corbin.
There was a freshly painted CSX Box car with NYC near the spot that has the year built and weights. Does anyone have any insight as to this?
Probably a freshly painted former Conrail boxcar -- after the split, CSX marked some of them NYC; NS marked them PRR.
