  • The urban and industrial landscape in this video was once a hostile wilderness area where the French, British, Colonial militias, and Native Americans fought for control of the continent. It was here General Edward Braddock's army crossed the river before being ambushed on the other side and down river, by the French and their Native American allies, in the present community of Braddock, PA. The famous Braddock Road would have crossed the lowland area near the river where the railroad tracks and steel is seen today.

    My uncle worked at the mill for many years and during a construction project they unearthed cannon balls, bullets, arrow heads, and all sorts of relics from the battle. Unfortunately he didn't keep any of it.

    It is a shame that a place of such historic importance should be lost under a mass of industry.
