I bought my 2006 IS 350 for $7000 in 2018. It had 160k. It has a slow oil leak and the tension pulley or one of the pulleys rattles sometimes, but now I'm at 201k (I traveled long distances for work) and it's still running strong.

Nice one men. I got mine (08 IS350) for a steal at $5600 with a rebuilt title at auction. After a close inspection I realized someone had deliberately cut some of the wires connecting the VSC and power steering, probably so the insurance company could write it off for a payoff. After receiving the car I had my local auto electrician connect the wires back and voila it came back to 100%. So far I've driven it for 11k miles and the only things I've changed is the radiator which I think was leaking before I got the car. Done two oil swaps and spark plug change, will be going for a new battery soon. Other than that the car is going on strong.

My 2006 is350 started to show Check VSC, which means deteriorating transmission, soon after a small dealer in Fremont CA sold it to me. The Lexus dealer said it needs to be replaced. But I insist on waiting till it totally fails. After change oil with mobil 1 high mileage oil, the check VSC started to go away for over50% of the time. Within a month, everything was fine. Warning lights gone. But recently the tire and check engine light came on. Will buy a Toyota diagnose cable on ebay to run a test.

I got a 2010 is 350C and absolutely fell in love! I also had my battery die on me right after I got it. Lol But great car and can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Good video bro! I love the performance from my 2010. It's very quick up to 50mph. I raced a Jeep SRT and won. The driver thought I SC it. I told him only the intake. We both was amazed....🤣
I agree. It was my dream car. I love the way they look. I bought a 2016 lexus is 300 a couple years ago. I love it today as much as I did a couple years ago. It's my first car that I've never gotten bored with. Except when tire time comes then I'm back in love. Excellent video. Thanks
Glad you mentioned the D4S system! Probably the only guy I watched all over RUclips that knows about it, port and direct injection co developed with Yamaha
Great video! I was looking for an IS350 but was tough to find one in my price range. Plot twist... I randomly test drove an 07' ES350, totally different but fell in love. I drove an IS250 and it just felt smaller than expected, I checked out two more ES350's before I was certain and now drive an 07! Love it! Next, is an ISF!
I just picked up an is350 08 last week after stumbling on your channel and watching your videos. You seem like a humble person bro so i subscribed and I came from a bmw m3 e46. I love the feature this is350 has. Your videos influenced me to get this is350😆
You gotta look at the door and dash also, Lexus has a recall, but they will only honor the recall for 10 years from the current date. So if you are willing to live with a melting dash 2006-09 currently than you can get the dealer to drop the price.
love my is350 and love your page and how much you talk about the 350 and same year as mine and i cant seem to find to many people who think there sick like i do! love the car so much
Dude, I just sold my GR86 due to hearing all the engine issues popping up with RTV & oil starvation. Picked up my RC350 F Sport & loving the performance & peace of mind. You simply can’t put miles on a Subaru before they start breaking down.
i was on my 7th car in 2017 when i decided to look into Lexus. I got extremely lucky like it was meant to be. there were a bunch of listed is250 with around 100k miles for 10k i kept looking and ended up finding a clean 2007 lexus is350 with glacier frost mica paint and 35k original miles for 15k! It had been owned by an older couple who rarely drove it and now was at a private lot in hollywood. so i got it, paid it off and it still going strong today with 92k miles now. ps: yea the alternator went out on mine too, its a thing with thiis car along with the headlights. but thats easy stuff
I just picked up a 2007 IS350, drove all the way to Ohio to get it have yet to see another 2IS 350. Definitely a worthy successor to my Acura TL. Much faster as well... Total Sleeper.
I only recently found this channal being an owner of an IS250 myself (as they never sold the is350 in the UK :( ) and alzo coming from a bmw e46, these cars are hugely underrated. Great channal and great straight to the point videos, keep it up!!
@@bill11ringsrussell66 aha tbey are such great cars and litteraly require no maitenance compared to the bmws, with my e46 i got tired of fixing oil and coolant leaks otherwise it was a great car.
brooooooooooooo marty motoring!!!! i commented on another video that my brother is obsessed with this car, and we just found out that you had a sequoia and my mom has one too!!!!! i think this is a sign my brother will get a lexus is 350 soon. if you want to give him yours and give your brother's isf to me that's cool too!!
They say "you can only pick 2: reliable, fast, or cheap" but it seems like the is350 gets marks in all three, oh, and it's luxurious. Guess cheap is relative though, I'm at a point where I'm going to college this year and have a way to go before I can afford one, but once I'm in college I don't really have use for a car and it'll just be an additional cost so I don't know if it's plausible, but I don't want to wait 4-6 years to get up one lol. Was thinking of a b5 a4 and driving it until I leave for college and selling it but those I'm not too sure will last me the few months I'd use it.
I got a good deal on my certified pre owned 2014 is350 i bought it because i trust lexus to run more than 200k miles easily and resale value is also very good on the 350 especially because they’re alot mor rare than the common 250s. I first had a 330 hp Infiniti g37. But i gotta say the 350 is pretty quick and doesnt feel heavy like the other q50s and bmws i test drove. Its also alot lower than i thought and it looks amazing with the new headlights. Im looking forward to modding it in the near future
I've recently been looking into getting a new car, and the main thing my mechanic told me when he told me my Chevy Cruz was on its death bed, was that Honda and Toyota were reliable vehicles to check out. I looked into some of the newer models, but felt like they were pretty high in price and where I live in FL, I feel like every other car I see is a Honda. I read alot of articles/watched alot of videos on the Audi RS3 and after realizing it was unrealistic with my current income, I started looking into Toyota and Hondas next tier, Lexus and Acura. Nothing with Acura has really impressed me or made me want to take a second look. I started looking at IS 300's and for fun thougnt I'd check out the 350's. Most of the models I've seen are $10k+ less then the Audi S3 I have been stuck on and knowing it would last longer and wouldn't have highly priced issues has made the choice alittle easier to stand by. I'm still looking for a model that has the right price, milage, color and etc but I'm definitely going to subscribe and check out some of your other videos so I know what to look for before I buy and what I can do to upgrade it once I finally own it. Thanks for the video
Awesome - thanks for checking out the channel and I hope you find a nice Lexus! Can’t go wrong with a Toyota either. 350 will be the fastest without getting the ISF, but the IS300 is great too
Bro legitimately my exact train of thought. I didn’t know anything about the is350, but always loved Japanese. I drove a subi while my entire family had Toyota’s. I repaired more on my subi in 2 years than they had in 10 so I started to look. Not only for mechanical reasons but also speed. I wanted an Sti, bc why not ! Lol. Found the is350 and the first one I test drove is the one I own today. Love the car to death. Just subscribed and I’m eager to see what all you do for ideas ! Have cloilovers/exhaust/intake/body kit, but that’s all. Looking more internal now! Great content man!
Hey Jesse! Awesome that you found my channel and have a similar story with Subaru lol. I had 7 of them total, and after that, it was time to move away. Toyota was always good to my entire family and Lexus owners raved of reliability. I wanted an STI too, until I kept seeing everyone blow their turbos. Funny how we both came across the IS350. ISF was double the price but they are both great cars. I try to document all my mods on video, so hope they help you out!
Recently picked up an 07 GS350 seems like performance wise between the IS there literally identical to each other just off by .5 second difference due to GS having 3.76 FD va IS350 4.08 FD, I needed the extra room as well. Excited to be back with good old Lexus.
Hi Marty, absolutely love your channel. I have just bought an IS250, fuel is an issue here in Nigeria. Its shipping from the US. Am coming from BMW and Benz, i believe i will love it.
You surely will. I'm one of the very few that own an IS350 in Abuja and that thing is a screamer. At first I drove mine very hard and got very mediocre mpg. Thinking my car had an issue I decided to do some digging and realised my my heavy foot was at fault. It takes ₦9,500 ($26) ish to fill my (66ltr) tank up and that keeps me going easily for a week whilst cruising below 120km (80mil) with around 16-24mpg depending were I'm driving (highway or city). If truely you want to conserve fuel, try rev matching below 3000rpm. Luckily this car is equipped with a real-time mpg bar in the speed cluster to inform you how much fuel you're consuming in relation with your acceleration and vehicular angle/slope. The only issue at the moment is expensive and fake parts, so brace your wallet for that. I can hook you up with genuine American spec parts if you're keen. Good luck man. Congrats for joining the Lexus club.
I have a rare blocked out IS 250 6 speed manual I wish it had the 350 mine will Frye first and second gear I rip on it every once in awhile it handles very good I just put a JL audio 12 in it speaker and amp was eight hundred bucks installation was pricey the dealer said it was ultra rare
Great vids... i'm pretty new to the channel, looking to trade my 328 x drive for a is 350 awd...(Quebec here) looking for more reliability and upgraded model. I think the 350 is gonna be just perfect! Keep on the good work.
I'm 17 and I will buy an IS 250 as my first car. I already saved up enpugh money for it, so the only thing that stops me to buy the car is my age. I love this car. My friends tell me get outta here what is lexus get an aufi a merc or bmw, an I love audi but man, the lexus is the best choice for the price.
Totally agreed with your story! I got 2012 g37 for 4 years then the car got non sense limp mode crap even that time CR said g37 has good realibility but it's not true! I sold the car to Carmax even I had good time with the car. I also don't trust Subaru's car I had Outback the trans screwed.
I have a Lexus is 300 sport design with a 5 speed manual. I originally was going to get a Subaru Impreza base model with a manual. Glad I got the Lexus is300 because it's just a better car even though it was 14 years older. I have only had minor issues, bad a/c compressor, worn clutch and recently a leaky radiator which is an easy fix. Car still runs awesome. No regret on my purchase👍
Great story. I've been looking for a new car that's reliable sporty and practical as a new daily and after watching your videos on the is350 I'm positive this is the car I want.
Cool video, thanks for sharing. Funny. I switched from European to Japanse 7 years ago. Got into the whole Subaru thing, but always have something else as a project car. ATM, that's an RX8, but had an IS200 (with the 1GFE engine) and a Celica and have always been impressed with the build quility. Subaru's are good (and considered very reliable in Europe), but Toyota/Lexus, they are just genuine good cars. Next car will be a Lexus, and this time, it'll be the Subaru that will have to move out...
So super excited to pick my 2014 is 350 this weekend! Your video really resonates with me regarding the german cars... why confirm to the main stream!! Licence plate... DS LEX IS. Lol!
I have a 2010 IS250 here in the UK, we do not have the IS350 on offer here in Europe, I assume because our gas costs are much higher at the pump. I love my IS250 although it is not a sports car as such it offer good performance, build quality and reliability at a great price, not a common car in the UK and gets a few heads turning among a sea of many German cars.
Gas mileage I sent the other video where it’s not that much difference so a commute of 120 miles round trip with a 350 27-24 ? The 250 gets 25-30 ? Looking for that highway stats. Rather have the 350 if splitting hairs Also looking a Lincoln as Ford and Toyota are reliable 365 HP Eco Boost in a Lincoln lolol LOVE it!
I prefer Lexus over something like bmw or Audi. Mostly because those cars are over engineered, I have a beater car which is a 2008 Camry xle and it’s so basic yet it’s comfortable and pretty quick once it’s around 3.5k rpm, and then I can easily do 40-120 mph in 4 seconds.
I threw an Intake and Cat Back on my 2010 IS250 with 50k miles because I'm really effing cool... surprise surprise It still just doesnt give me the satisfaction of torque/speed 😪 getting a 350 soon for sure
Had a 2007 IS350 and loved it. Then went for a 2014 IS 350 F sport AWD that I really need for winter driving in Toronto. Always had a difficult time parking in the back laneway with a rear wheel drive. Love my IS.
I spent years owning a 1992 Toyota Celica GTS. I was so in love with that car. It was perfect! So when it came time to replace it, I had to find something as good or better. I looked at BRZ/FRS but they just didn't do it for me. I really wanted to stick with Toyota, so decided on an 07 IS350. I have had the IS for 4 years now. Sadly, it is definitely not in the same league as the Celica. My IS interior is slowly self destructing. I keep my vehicles spotless, and I can;t really clean the interior panels of my IS anymore. The pvc is somewhat mushy, you know, like the handle of a cheap Chinese screwdriver gets over time. The Alloys have all flaked apart since getting the car. The black plastic window trim is flaking and peeling off. Anyway, a real disappointment quality wise. My 25 year old Celica is still in my driveway, and although the interior is somewhat faded from the sun, there is no self destruction going on in that car and the alloys are still like new. I think the drivetrain of the IS is top notch, but the body and interior components are quite poor. My wife has a 2010 Infiniti EX35, which seems to be more akin to the Celica in terms of quality. I will definitely be considering Infiniti over Lexus next time around. I expected much more from Lexus and feel somewhat conned.
Got mine 3 months ago in ultrasonic blue with 125k mi and have put on about 10k since then and it’s still strong as day 1. (That eLine brake kit is in my shopping cart though 😛) Believe it or not, i kept up with an e92 M3 at watkins glen international. Lexus shouldn’t be understating the IS like the way they are. Would absolutely hate to see it killed as the market shifts to crossovers and SUVs.
Great video. New to your channel but have watched a few videos now. Subbed! Thinking about making the change from an 18 Civic Si. Love my Si. Decent power and I average 39mpg since buying it new, but I do wish I had more power. Also question the longevity of this engine and road noise is pretty bad (all Honda’s are on the road noise I suppose). Plus with current values for my car I can sell it for what I bought it for, get an older IS, and have cash left over for savings. I would miss the 6spd manual, but my wife wants me to have an automatic anyway so she can drive my car if need be. Am I crazy thinking about this with current car? Thanks!
I love my 2011 IS350, but my wife took it and she let my drive the GX 😩. The IS have 120k miles now, and we never have any major repairs. Front and rear tires are different sizes. The engine still sounds like the very first day we took it from the dealer.
Great video. But I was wondering what is too high of mileage when it comes to these IS 350's? In my area they seem to be in the price range of $6-10k and around 165k mileage and the lowest I've seen is 131k.. Is that normal? And what should I except with that high of mileage when it comes to maintenance? Also, just posted a review on a Nissan 350(wind killed the video) and any advice on that video would be helpful. Thank you and have a great day 🤙
Farley 925 3 years now, it’s been bulletproof so far, Lexus products always impress me, my old car was a Benz (06 Clk 350) and the transmission blew at 150k...
@@1000015927 ya lexus has always been a vehicle I've wanted but could never afford. Have a 2006 gti right now. Got it a little over a year ago with 153k miles. It is now about to hit 164k but had someone explode in the engine which cost me about $1200 to repair everything without going to the shop. So I'm still kind of scared with high mileage vehicles. But I'm about ready to sell it/trade it in for a lexus if I can find one within my price/mile range

TheG279 any problems yet or unexpected, about to get same one with 86k on it and want to get an idea about ownership of the convertible??
I just bought a lovely 2012 gs 450h f sport love it so far. V6 345bhp rear wheel drive. Feels nice very sporty. Best of both worlds ice and electric.
This car is like magic
Beautiful strong attractive, I love my Lexus 300is
You inspired me to buy the 08 IS350 mint condition with only 48K miles 2 days ago! Thanks!
Nice man if u don’t mind, how much did it cost?
Great video! I was looking for an IS350 but was tough to find one in my price range. Plot twist... I randomly test drove an 07' ES350, totally different but fell in love. I drove an IS250 and it just felt smaller than expected, I checked out two more ES350's before I was certain and now drive an 07! Love it! Next, is an ISF!
The ES is a great choice too! Similar power, just FWD instead
I brought a Lexus LS430. I feel like I can't go back now. Here in the UK it is so cheap to buy and really reliable.
It has every toy I ever wanted.
Those are amazingly engineered vehicles and rated very well. Solid choice!
I just picked up an is350 08 last week after stumbling on your channel and watching your videos. You seem like a humble person bro so i subscribed and I came from a bmw m3 e46. I love the feature this is350 has. Your videos influenced me to get this is350😆
I love the IS line, I daily an 02 IS300 and have had no mechanical issues. ✊🌴
You gotta look at the door and dash also, Lexus has a recall, but they will only honor the recall for 10 years from the current date. So if you are willing to live with a melting dash 2006-09 currently than you can get the dealer to drop the price.
I'm living with that in Canada. Spotless mint 07 IS350 (i baby my cars) with a melting cracking interior. Very sad. My next car will not be Toyota.
love my is350 and love your page and how much you talk about the 350 and same year as mine and i cant seem to find to many people who think there sick like i do! love the car so much
I already loved the idea of your creations and then you hit me with one of my favourite songs of all time, you're good! Something More!
Awesome - thank you for watching! I agree that they are underrated. 😎
Ip Velocity I own a bmw e46 and want to upgrade to an Lexus is250 lol how funny only thing is i live in Germany
@@bill11ringsrussell66 aha tbey are such great cars and litteraly require no maitenance compared to the bmws, with my e46 i got tired of fixing oil and coolant leaks otherwise it was a great car.
I got a '15 GS350 ,and absolutely love it. Wish you a lot of luck, but you won't need it with a Lexus!
6 days into ownership of an is350. Loving it so far
I have a 04 tsx bro, but my dream car is a IS black with red gutzz, flawless timeless car. Just like tsx
Jayme Lanuza atm I have 07 tsx but also like the better look and power of an IS 350 definitely will be my next car (:
Michael S ya thats the thing with lexus/Toyota. They make their luxury brand a true performance car
i bought it for almost the exact same reasons, but i came from an is300. dope videos, man
brooooooooooooo marty motoring!!!! i commented on another video that my brother is obsessed with this car, and we just found out that you had a sequoia and my mom has one too!!!!! i think this is a sign my brother will get a lexus is 350 soon. if you want to give him yours and give your brother's isf to me that's cool too!!
Nice 😄 Unfortunately I can’t give away any cars 🤣
I wish I had a 350. I have a 250 thinking of putting 100 shot of nos. Already did hks exhaust invidia midpipe, fsport intake.
Aghh u shoulda sold it
They say "you can only pick 2: reliable, fast, or cheap" but it seems like the is350 gets marks in all three, oh, and it's luxurious.
Glad I found your channel Marty. I should be selling my civic si this week (fingers crossed), and checking out a 350 this weekend.
I'm in the same boat
@@ethanbateman6227 do it, I got mine last week. The car is so nice
Jamey F100 what year
Recently picked up an 07 GS350 seems like performance wise between the IS there literally identical to each other just off by .5 second difference due to GS having 3.76 FD va IS350 4.08 FD, I needed the extra room as well. Excited to be back with good old Lexus.
The IS and the GS were Lexus's sport sedans, with the IS being a little more sporty but both were RWD, The ES and the LS were the luxury ones.
Looking to buy an IS3FIDDY soon. Coming from a Corolla.
@@hamskyxxx hey thanks, call me on 07064019635. I use to buy BMW parts on eBay.
@@Truemanni alright man...
It's a total shame that 350's are so rare here in Europe. I would save up some more to get that sweet sweet car. First gen IS300 it is then. ;)
They have never been sold in Europe right ?
xkukubax Lexus in general is rare in Europe
I have a rare blocked out IS 250 6 speed manual I wish it had the 350 mine will Frye first and second gear I rip on it every once in awhile it handles very good I just put a JL audio 12 in it speaker and amp was eight hundred bucks installation was pricey the dealer said it was ultra rare
Agree, the more I work on mine, the more I love how well its built!
The Is 350 wasnt sold in europe so I'll pick the 250.
Bro the Lexua has far better reliability. Not to knock those makes but it's a fact!
I regret selling my '06 IS350, sold it in 2014 with 30K miles. Regret it all the time. Perfect blend of luxury, speed and reliability.
Why'd you sell it?
Totally agreed with your story! I got 2012 g37 for 4 years then the car got non sense limp mode crap even that time CR said g37 has good realibility but it's not true! I sold the car to Carmax even I had good time with the car. I also don't trust Subaru's car I had Outback the trans screwed.
Been thinking about getting the 2015 is 350. They are great 🚙
I have a Lexus is 300 sport design with a 5 speed manual.
Great video, and great car. I’m really looking to get this car. A part of it is because of your vids, they are very informative. Thank you!
So super excited to pick my 2014 is 350 this weekend! Your video really resonates with me regarding the german cars... why confirm to the main stream!! Licence plate... DS LEX IS. Lol!
i want the is350 but they didn't make it awd till 2013..so 250 awd it was
me too mane
there is
I have a 2010 IS250 here in the UK, we do not have the IS350 on offer here in Europe, I assume because our gas costs are much higher at the pump.
I love my IS250 although it is not a sports car as such it offer good performance, build quality and reliability at a great price, not a common car in the UK and gets a few heads turning among a sea of many German cars.
Sir Gawain as a German I want an is 250 but they are so rare here in Germany
Gas mileage I sent the other video where it’s not that much difference so a commute of 120 miles round trip with a 350 27-24 ? The 250 gets 25-30 ? Looking for that highway stats. Rather have the 350 if splitting hairs Also looking a Lincoln as Ford and Toyota are reliable 365 HP Eco Boost in a Lincoln lolol LOVE it!
I bought a is250 last week, nice ass car! Couldn’t get the is350
I prefer Lexus over something like bmw or Audi.
Me too bro!!
I’m in Texas and it’s so hard to find an is 350 for a decent price here.
Love my 15 is350. Great daily
Such a shame we dont get these in the UK! guess I'll pick up the IS250
Performance, quality, great looking
I just baught me this car yesterday, a 2006 Lexus is350.. does it have duel battery or something?
I got a 11' 350 f sport about a month ago. The only thing I wish it had was an LSD but other than that great car.
Do you think I should buy the is350 or the gs350, both 2008? Thanku
IS is great but GS is bigger - depends what you need
Got mine 3 months ago in ultrasonic blue with 125k mi and have put on about 10k since then and it’s still strong as day 1. (That eLine brake kit is in my shopping cart though 😛)
Believe it or not, i kept up with an e92 M3 at watkins glen international.
Lexus shouldn’t be understating the IS like the way they are. Would absolutely hate to see it killed as the market shifts to crossovers and SUVs.
Theres a 4th gen thats coming.
Just picked up mine (08 model), not sure about what exhaust setup to install that won’t hurt my gas mileage
Nice vid man! I got a sequoia myself and I plan on getting an is350 as well!
Perfect lineup!
Thanks!
Is350 were never sold here in sweden so i only have a is250 :( but it is nice and IM happy with it
That always made me wonder...I guess the IS250 meets Euro standards? Somehow the ISF does too. But not the IS350. Maybe there wasn’t a market
Awesome ride and nice videos...👍
Whatsyour take pls, compare the 08 gs350 to your is350? I'm leaning towards to gs350. Is it same engine though?
Rr racing supercharger next!?!?... do it
If I had a spare $7000 haha
I don't have an IS350 however I am looking to buy one in New Jersey/New York
I love what you did to your car the F sport axle back, the suspension, the front lip, the tail lights, shift knob, and the rims!!
I love my 2011 IS350, but my wife took it and she let my drive the GX 😩. The IS have 120k miles now, and we never have any major repairs. Front and rear tires are different sizes. The engine still sounds like the very first day we took it from the dealer.
Cool video man hope the lexus treats you well
Thanks! 2 years and still love it
I'm looking at a 2015 IS350 F-Sport or 2015 IS350 Sports Luxury. How does the next-gen compare to the second gen.
Just got an 08 IS but it's a 250, not the fastest but such an amazing daily!
I have a 2015 is 250 f sport and when you put it on sport mode it go.
You need to go trade that in for a IS350 , the 250 just doesn’t have the horsepower nor torque.
Help. I have a 2008 Lexus ES 350 and I don’t know wether I should mod it or not.🙃
Great video.
Thank you and have a great day 🤙
Farley 925 I have a 2006 Lexus is350 with 263k on it, I’ve never had to do anything to mine other than oil changes
@@1000015927 that good to know. How long have you had it?
TheGtaChuck what mileage did it have when you first got it tho?
I’m about to buy one for 5,500 and 180k miles any advice of things to look for ?
