My mothers actually trying to sell me her 2006 is250 for 4500$ it’s white exterior with an black interior 6 speed manual with 150k miles rebuilt motor and replaced door Panels. I personally want a 370z to be a tuner but damn it Scotty 😂 you making me want that Lexus even moreee
I have a 2006 Lexus IS250 rwd pushing 120k miles, got it for $5k Ive tune it up with new spark plugs, alternator, battery, engine oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, been having it for 5 months but I get a egg smell when accelerating hard over 3,000 rpm.... is it my cat????
Hi, I am from UK and am hooked to your videos, roads are smaller and congested in UK, and traffic moves not higher than 70 miles here unlike USA. How about same 2008 to 2012 Lexus IS200D or IS220d Toyota 2AD-FHV 4-inline D4D engines. What would you recommend them against V6 gasoline engines? I mostly drive short drive with in a town, and only 2, to 3 150+ miles journeys a year. Would appreciate some advise as I am searching a used Lexus after watching your videos as cheap as possible.
I had a 2010 awd is250 and literally drove it like an animal for couple years and this car never gave up on me. Rides like dream and the cornering is fantastic. Pure quality. It was about 10years old and still people would ask me if it's a brand new car!? No car in the world can beat that car in its price range
@Jay From LV $4,000 for an '06-08 IS 250 with 180k Miles is really really good. But before you buy it, and the same with any car that has kinda high mileage, make sure that it has had good service history, or if you're buying from a private seller verify with them that they have changed the oil and done the right service. It doesn't have to have a perfect carfax, but it does need to have a good one for 180k miles. Lexus cars will most likely go on to 340k + especially if it's had everything done that it's needed. Like I said though $4k is a really really good deal for one. If you go test drive it and it runs good, if it were me I would be tempted to buy it. I'm looking for a second car right now, I'm 17 and I just sold my '07 Civic Coupe and I'm really really looking into 2006-2012 IS's for the reliability and sportiness of them!!
@@brXDley Yup! “You take care of your car and it will take care of you.” Quote from my husband. I drive a 2001 Toyota Solara that now has ~244K and - with regular care - will last a few more years👍🏻 It still handles very well; ♥️ this car!
Bought an 07 IS350 fully loaded with 85k miles for 11k because of this video. The IS350 is surprisingly quick and has luxury features that cars coming off the assembly line in 2022 don’t have. Best money Iv ever spent.
Very true as my friend was looking into purchasing a Mercedes SUV and it had similar features such as heated seats, sunroof, rearview camera, gps, leather, and this car is older.
I'm not surprised that Lexus agreed to change out the interior in this 'very' used car. I've owned two new Lexus's, and I can honestly say I was VERY pleasantly surprised when Lexus 'stepped up', going far above and beyond the call of duty to make me happy. They take customer satisfaction to a whole new level, and always have.
Lexus Australia does virtually nothing compared to other countries. Wont fix the dodgy transmission problems, doesn't want to know about melting door trims and dash. Carbon build up as well.
@@derekquinones8614 He is funny saying that after 2 months, but I can say that after 10 yrs of owning a 2005 Camry, Toyota's are great and reliable cars, some of them boring to drive, but money savers!
@@srnc9740 Ahh I see where you’re coming from🤣. I definitely know what you mean because I meant to say like how it’s held up from 2007! Still remarkable and totally agree with you. Lexus has that extra touch of quality and attention to detail which is amazing. Plus it lasts forever😁
I bought a LEXUS IS250 4 years ago, at that time i don't have much money for a car, and maintenance... And that was the best choice I ever make.. 7k for a car who never gives me a problem, i have now 300t km and he rules like a Rolex
My father used to work for Toyota as a mechanic. He mentioned the IS350 when my fiance and I were looking for her a new car. She ended up with a Crosstrek and I ended up with a 2015 IS350. Love that car. Runs like a dream at 102k now.
It’s kinda cool to see Scotty praise well made Lexus and Acura models. You can see that he really appreciates the engineering and reliability that goes into their better models. The excitement is so magnetic 👍
@@roxposting exactly ^ it covers the beautiful Japanese engineering that went into bullet proof engines. Other brands have stupid plastic crap because they’re covering stupid piece of crap engines.
Beauty cover and the plastic ends there. Open the beauty cover of a BMW or Mercedes, there you can find a lot of STUPID PLASTIC CRAP in and around the engine. Only stupid people buy that kind of plastic crap.
The 350 is worth it, the 250 is much much slower. And the dealer did not replace my leather, because I missed their deadline. The is250 only has direct injection, so carbon buildup is a huge problem unlike the 350 which has port injection as well.
@@the_dietcam Its not about the gas, the point you're missing. The direct injection engines don't spray the gasoline in to the intake valves which lubes and cleans them, it sends it directly in to the combustion chamber. So all the exhaust gases that are sent back in to the intake to balance the engine air pressure, start to build up on the top of the valves . Google the wrx 2.0 direct inject build up issues, you bet they are using the best fuel too.
@@the_dietcam I don't think your SC is GDI.. (Gasoline Direct Injection) one thing is Fuel Injection and Direct Injection.. GDI are prone to build carbon.
The later IS250s have tighter rings and us 0w-20 to help mitigate the carbon buildup. Either way, the carbon buildup isn't a huge deal. It's something that will show up at maybe 100,000 unless you idle it a lot.
I owned this car from new since 2009. Never gave me a single problem. All i did was change out the batteries, tires, brake pads and fluids. still driving it now, a/c blows cold, engine runs smooth, engine and gearbox is pristine.
I used to drive Mercedes and BMW in Germany and wanted to buy an Audi a few years back. Then I saw Scotty's reviews and channels and I bought my 07' Lexus IS 250 with 172,000 miles on it, not deterred by the mileage, because of his rundown about Lexus' engines and built. It's my daily driver for my photography business in New York City (5 boros, Jersey and Long Island) and it runs... and runs and runs. I drive it only in ECT Power and when I get on a highway, I always switch to S mode and use the paddle shifters. It is sooo much fun, fast and quick responding, it's great! When I read all the reviews on RUclips and the guys that complain "how sluggish the 250 is and that the paddle shifters don't do a thing, I have to shake my head about those people that don't know how to drive the car!
I’m most likely going to look at a 08 IS250 with 147k tomorrow, this review helped a lot, and soon I’m going to get my real estate photography business going, following in your footsteps 😂 you still got the 250? Any issues so far?
Yes, you simply cannot find better all around value for your money than that which Lexus offers. You can find a faster car. You can find a more prestigious badge. You can find one with better fuel economy. Sure. NOTWITHSTANDING, when it is snowing outside and you need to make that 2-hour drive to pick up someone you love at the airport, you want to know you are in a comfortable and luxurious welcome vehicle that will get you home. Every time. It's also nice knowing that if you ever want to sell the vehicle you won't have your head handed to you by the depreciation goblins. Lexus is simply the king of reliability, resale and overall value. I have a buddy with a 5 series and the thing is CRAZY fast but the speed limit in town is 50 km per hr. LOL! What is the point of the repair pain and insurance? Get a Lexus, baby!
As a Lexus IS250 - 2015 owner. I approve. I previously had an issue with the A\C, where it blows a cool air in one side and a hot air from the other side. Not to mention that the air blow was weaker in one side than the other too. The issue can be fixed in a professional workshops for maybe 200$ with no guarantees, but I had trust issues. The car was clearly out of the warranty, as it ended in 2018 and the car mileage was at the time (2020) 121k miles. However, Lexus dealer in Saudi Arabia was completely cooperative and offered to change the whole A\C unit for free (after I convinced them that the error came with the car from the factory). The A\C unit change with labor fees in the dealership costs approximately 2400$. This story is one among many free services that the Lexus dealer offered me for free; after the warranty ended.
I have a 2007 IS250 (195k miles on it) and i have the SAME A/c "issue". i hardly consider it an issue, TBH bc the car gets plenty cold in the summer ( i live in TX). The only time i notice it is in the winter ( the whole 2 months of winter we have) -- i keep my coat on in the car b/c the car never really warms up. i have to close the "cold only" vents and open the "hot only" so the car only has two vents trying to warm it up. BUt like i said - i literally only use the heat 2 months in TX so i have never bothered to get it looked at or fixed. nothing else is remotely wrong with the car so i am keeping her :)
I have a 2007 IS 350 I'm about to sell with about 94,500 miles on it, and the transmission was replaced by Lexus about 3 years ago and it has only about 13,000 miles on it. Lexus actually paid 60% of the cost to replace it because they felt it should have lasted much longer. Don't know many other manufacturers that would have done that. It's for sale (LA area) if anyone is interested! LOL. It drives basically like the day I got it, and currently has no known issues or codes.
I'm a Mechanic also 44 years ouch 'I wouldn't drive anything else that. Lexus 'have done for years Lexus rx is my choice and it's my vehicle '489000 on it now it's getting old but so am I so I don't care ' no rattles or squeak no oil or water leaks brilliant vehicle I'd buy another in a heartbeat stevie
Would you recommend doing a transmission drain and fill on a Lexus 007 IS350 with 150k? Ive had it over 3 years and have put 50K on it and have done several upgrades and replaced many OEM parts out of obsession 😂🤣
I bought a used one last year, one year older than this model, and was never expecting to love it as much as I do. You definitely get more than your money's worth. Perfect models for someone who loves fast cars that were built to last
My 2006 Lexus IS350 RWD still only has 101K miles on it and I have never had an issue as my daily driver. Oil change every 5k miles, new fluids and a new set of tires is only standard maintenance I have done for the 75K miles I put on it for the last 6.5 years. Amazing quality car.
I have a 2014 Camry and the torque converter failed at 63k miles. Warranty was until 60k miles. Toyota still replaced the torque converter for absolutely free. I didn’t have to pay for the part nor the labor. I won’t own anything but Toyota going forward. That’s unbelievable! I want to reward Toyota and buy one brand new someday as a thank you for taking care of me...but I’m 29 and will probably still have this Camry into my 60s lol with how long Toyota’s last, hell, it might even outlast ME...
Before I bought my 2015 IS250 in 2020, I took it to an inspection station. The mechanics apologised for not finding any issues, even minor ones. I said no need to apology that is what I want to hear.
Bought a used 2006 is250 and it’s still absolutely gorgeous. We’re very lucky for the purchase. Interiors still in very good condition. Most people who have ride our car can’t guess its age.. so lucky with our is250 ♥️
i have a 2006 lexus IS250 and it is 17 years old and over 100k miles. no complaints. love it. Will easily go another 100K and have it for over 20 years
My daughter got a 2002 Lexus e300 with 110,000 miles. The owner had kept a perfect record of every service since 2002. The second owner only had it a short time and put only 2,000 miles on it...he liked his truck better. It is in perfect condition.
Searched for over 6 months and finally got a perfect 2012 Starfire Pearl IS 350 RWD. Absolutely timeless design and a quick daily driver. Its bulletproof reliable and has a nice community surrounding it. Get these cars while there are still nicely maintained ones around! The IS F is a beast if you can get your hands on it.
I love my 2007 Lexus IS250 RWD and I love Lexus customer service. At 60,000 miles they replaced all six pistons due to carbon build up, at 90,000 miles they replaced my passenger side header due to carbon build up, and at 118,000 miles they replaced my transmission due to one of the solenoids is not working. Also, they replaced new dash board, all four doors panels, and dash cluster all for free. I am a Lexus customer for life :)
@@yazanabdin7386 I went to the dealer and told them about the melting dashboard. They file the paper works for me and they also put me on the waiting list for the new dashboard. I waited about 8 months to get my dashboard.
I bought my 2012 Is 250, 8 months ago with only 86k miles. Have had no issues with it. Great daily driver and bang for the buck. If you are thinking of getting one just do it.
2015 IS 250, AWD navy blue, I couldn’t love the car more. I feel the quality and care in the car and am care free driving it. I respect the Japanese a lot for it. They make em with pride and respect.
Wow! I just purchased a 2008 IS250 as well as a daily driver and love it! Has 200K miles and hope to put another 100K! Just replaced the spark plus and engine filter and it drives smoothly! And yes Lexus replaced the door panels on it before I bought it from the last owner! Crazy how Scotty makes a video on one right after I bought one
I recently purchased my 2012 is350 awd and I love how fast it is for its age. It Is a little sleeper. And it handles amazingly well on the snow. $13,000 with 113,000 miles from carmax. Also added on the carmax max care warranty. Fully loaded. Only option I don’t have is parking sensors or radar cruise control.
Scotty, you're my guy! I got my 13 250 for less than 11k with taxes! I can't recommend it enough. I got 120k on mine now, my mechanics would never question it and we've never done anything non routine to it.
Hello Mr Scotty I bought a 2007 Lexus IS 250 AWD for $4,000 with less that 200,000 miles and I love it it’s in excellent condition and I’m the second owner I bought one because of your awesome advice and reviews on Lexus IS 250 sedan thank you 😊
Listening to Scotty talk about how well Lexus is made such as timing chains on thier 2GR V6 was the thing that sold me on buying a '10 Lexus IS350. Coming from a previous AMG owner I can say the Lexus IS350 driving experience has exceeded my expectations I got a fantastic deal on a low milage one. I have peace of mind knowing the ownership experience will be a good one given how well Lexus treat customers and that parts are very easy to find where I live. Thank you Scotty best car decision I made in many years! 👍
ALL 2006-2010 IS250 suffer from BAD carbon build up on the intake valves due to the pcv system and the direct injection system. Extremely common problem. My 2009 IS250 has 60k miles currently, I took a borescope to inspect the valves in my car, they were caked with carbon. Had the valves walnut blasted, mad it feel like the car gained 50hp. Now I have a oil catch can just help prevent excessive carbon build up.
I’ve had a RWD 2009 IS250 for a year now and it’s been great! Very luxurious and reliable. I was looking for a 350, but Scotty’s right, it’s been fun regardless.
Sold my mustang and got me a lexus gs300. In 5 years i only had to change the throttle body and i found it on ebay for 170 dollars and 2 year warranty. Lexus is incredible
I got a Lexus 2010 gs350 AWD 3.5 liter that I bought in 2017 for a grand total out the door of $17,000. It had 80,000 miles on it when we got it. It now has 130,000 miles on it and I have to say it has been the best car we have ever owned. I live in the northeast and it drives like a tank in the snow. It is the smoothest and most comfortable/powerful car we ever had. I’ll never get rid of it. My wife gets so many compliments on it all the time. It also has the mark levinston sound system in it that sounds great. Scotty did a review on my car (same color too) but it was rear wheel drive. He said the car could easily go over 400,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. I’m hoping he’s right. We’ve always been Nissan owners and had pathfinder’s. I drove far for work 1 hr 45 min one way and had to sell my pathfinder back in 08 due to gas prices. I had bought a used Nissan maxima that was an 05 back in 08 with 38,000 miles on it. I ended up putting over 220,000 miles on that car. I had to replace the transmission at 154,000 miles but I usually flew in that car and only ran full synthetic oil for the life of the car. At 220,000 miles the tranny started slipping again and it started blowing heavy white smoke plus the wheel bearings were going so it was time to get rid of it which I hated to cuz the body was immaculate. That’s when I traded it in on the Lexus. Three years before this in 2014 I found my dream car that I still have to this day. A 2011 Nissan maxima sv technology package with dual moon roofs. It had just came into the dealer with only 9900 miles on it. Fully loaded, pearl white with black leather interior. I only have 73,000 miles on it now and barely run it since I retired a few years ago. I will never get rid of it. It is very fast as well but I baby it. If I would have kept working I would have lost both of these cars due to the long drive. I would have had to get 2 more and been backed up on payments upside down owing a lot. At least these are both paid off. I’ve never bought a new car in my life and probably never will. I am very satisfied and content with what I have and my wife is as well. It’s nice to have extra money to do things with not just shelling everything out on car payments. I just thank God for the position I’m in today. You can find a nice older Lexus that has some miles that are reasonably priced that will last you many years because these cars are overbuilt in my opinion and will last you many long years. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made purchasing my Lexus. The ride is amazing and so comfortable and they hold their resale value. Take it from me , I know you don’t know me but you will not regret buying a used Lexus (if you can find one). They sell very quickly. Good luck and God bless. Thank you for listening to my story
The gs350 and maximas with the 3.5 liters are awesome motors if you ask me. Great horsepower and very fast. I believe what you say about the Lexus’s that they are very hard to find and that you need to scoop em up if you can find em. They go forever. You can’t beat the Toyota motors. They are bullit proof. Enjoy your cars brother!
I have one IS300 09 twilve years old hits almost 470000 kilometers (300k miles) same engine and trans never had major problems still running strong the same the day I bought it. Absolutely I agree with you.
Wow. Replacing the interior @ 13 years later is pretty amazing of Lexus. I've been researching to find a sporty & reliable convertible and have come to the realization that the IS250 convertible seems like the perfect car for my needs. A lot of aftermarket mods for these available. And Scottys video here has helped give me a nudge towards the Lexus. 👍
I’ve had my 250 for 4 years, I like it more everyday. Is a fantastically reliable, smooth, great looking car. People never believe it was made in 2006.
Owner of 2007 IS250 with 260k mi. Rattle noise at start up. Im told could possible be cam shaft. And alternator replaced. Everything else orginal and running great.
I used this car, my parents bought in 2010 and its a 2008 model for around $17k Still runs amazingly well, has 133k miles, no issues, interior still as new lovely car would love to own one on my own
Scotty, I want to thank you for this video. Because of it I got myself an 2009 IS250 RWD in mint condition with only 60K miles back in July for cheaper than a more worn used Corolla goes for in my country (People around here don't know Lexus use Toyota parts and fear BMW or Mercedes type money pits). It's my first car and I could not be happier. People dont belive me when I tell them how much it cost me and that it is a 12 year old car. The interior is amazingly comfortable, killer looks, fun to drive, tons of safety features and the sound system is amazing. Thank you so much for your advice.
I'm not even gonna lie this guy's energy is amazing and I love his videos. Currently looking to buy my first car and found an IS250 for 6k and he has the perfect car reviews
Just bought a 2013 is250 with 216000 miles on it for 7200.00 from original owner in SC. Changed air cleaner, plugs and cleaned upper and lower intakes. Also did a manual intake valve cleaning while I was at it. No check engine codes either. Took it to the NC mountains and drove the crap out of it! It ran strong, handled great and got 30mpg. I love this car!
We have a 2006 rear wheel drive model bought 6 years ago for about $7k USD in OZ. Other than the alternator and a catalytic converter being replaced, no issues with the vehicle. These are reliable and great value.
I bought 3 weeks ago 10MY IS250. I feel slower than the Volvo s80 d5 what I used to ride, but when I turned on the etc pwr button, it turned into a different car. It's a very impressive response in the city with faster accelerator reactions and repeated torque in congestion, so I'm going to keep it on and on
@@richardk302 mines is kinda getting worse not that bad honestly though, was thinking about getting a cover for it but might as well give this a shot first !
I love my 06 is250 awd, i have over 200k on mine and everything still works perfect, and yes lexus will replace the dash and door panels for free lexus just did mine last month and wow! What a difference it makes, the only thing that may go wrong later is the gauge cluster needles lights start to flicker and go out but other then that very reliable lexus!
Yeah you can get the gauge needles replaced for your is250 at tanin auto for $220. I sent mine in there. Also when did you put in your request to get the panels replaced? I have an 06 is350 and they said they would not replaced mine last august.
@Daytien Westervelt October of 2020 was when my request was put in, approved in January installed in the first week of February it may depend on what dealer as well and what other lexus you drive and how much money you spend with them not sure about that part of it but priority lexus of va beach approved mine
@Daytien Westervelt I had mine looked at today -- the dealership took pictures, told me that I needed my dash and two front door panels replaced, said the back doors were good-- claimed they'd order the parts today and install them next week. I guess it depends on the dealership? Unless my dealer is telling me a lie? I'm in N.C.
Scotty couldn't have made me happier. I bought one with 260,000 miles for about $2,100 a few months ago. I scavenged the internet for a video to prove the car is worth buying high mileage, and I've found peace today with Scotty's approval.
Me too. And I’m glad he did one on the 250. I have a 2007 black is250. And it has 258,000 miles and turns on fast. Engine is still responsive. I love my little 250
Bought my 09 new off the showroom fully loaded!! Over 200,000 miles only thing I replaced was the Altenator and shocks at 195,000 miles!! Crazy incredible!!
Something important to mention is that the 2.5 V6 use direct injection and you will have to deal with carbon buildup. On the other hand the 3.5 V6 use dual direct and port injection, no carbon buildup problems....
I was looking to purchase a luxury sport sedan vehicle and after watching this video i went to a dealership that had a 2008 Lexus iS250 AWD with 113500 silver ... It has been over 1 month and i love this car ,just did a synthetic oil change and premium gas ,i get 28 MPG highway,22 in the city, drives smooth and fast enough for what i need it ,awesome car .
Even If Scotty knew absolutely nothing about what he is talking about , his demeanor could persuade you that he knows absolutely what he is talking about 😄
I have a 2006 IS 350 imported in from Japan to me in Canada this April. Had 7900km on it when purchased. Absolute steal of a deal for $17,000. Came with $3000 Rays rims, coil overs, winter tires. Just absolutely MINT for a 2006. Loving how it will last till like 500,000km too with easy maintenance
is250 is probably the perfect first car. Fast enough but not dangerously fast and handles well. Safe. Luxurious but reliable. Cheap to run and buy. Available as manual if you wish so, to make it even more fun, AT is really good, but sadly the padle shifters dont actually shift. Only real issue it has (well et least here in europe, dont know if US 250s are different) that the valves do carbon up due to being GDI so it needs cleaning every like 30 or 50k miles, but it isnt too bad. Interestingly enough lexus only fixed this in the ISF which gets both port and direct injection. Dont know why they didnt revise the 250 and 350
I just bought a car April 29 a 2007 Lexus IS 250 for $7k super clean 148k miles black on black. I loved it then and after watching this video I love it more! Thank you Scotty!
We had a 2006 IS250 that we owned from the day it came off the lot till last November when someone pulled out infront of my wife. Very reliable and ran like a champ. The downfall was it required a minimum of 91 octane fuel. That was it. Very easy car to maintain
The is250s only had direct injection so carbon buildup was a big issue, the 350 uses port injection to help that. I’d advise getting a Gs350 or is350. Still gets 30mpg and is much faster.
I ❤ my 2010 IS 250.AWD. Beautiful inside and out. Luxury features galore. Even a Toyota dealership can work on it, saving you even more money. Quality Quality Quality!!
Got a 2012 IS 350. That car is very quick to get to 100 thanks to the aggressive gearing so it's fantastic for daily driving, lots of fun but it definitely has enough power to get you in trouble with traction control disabled.
I have a 92 LS 400 and you are damn right. When you buy a Lexus you get a company that will stand by the car for as long as you own it. I lost a 5 cent screw in my Key Fob and I could not get it at the dealer so what did Lexus do they gave me a 300 dollar credit to get a key fob and a reprogramming at the dealer. I can not say anything but praise for Lexus. They stand by there vehicles for the life. Even some of the other Japanese car manufactures could learn from Lexus.
Love my 250, owned it for like 4-5 years now. Main complaint is the carbon buildup from DI, crappy rear brakes that seize on the pin, and inner tire wear due to dynamic toe change while braking. Else a couple mods, sway bars and coilovers with some good tires will make it handle pretty well. I've got a tune on mine that livens it up a bit.
I have a Pearl White 2008 IS250 AWD. Best all over car ever owned. As good in the snow, with all season tires, as my Ford Explorer 4WD. The only difference is obvious with the Explorer’s ground clearance vs. a Lexus sports sedan. Amazing all around car. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I’ll be looking for another when it’s time to sell this one.
I had IS250. Indeed customer care is amazing in Lexus as well as reliability. As result I have changed IS250 for IS300h. Hope this car will be same bulletproof as IS250. So far after over a year of usage no problems at all!
Some IS250s have a carbon build-up problem because it is a direct-injection engine. The IS350 does not have the carbon build-up problem because it has both port and direct injectors.

Hi, I am from UK and am hooked to your videos, roads are smaller and congested in UK, and traffic moves not higher than 70 miles here unlike USA.
I have a 2014 is 250. Am i eligible for free interior replacement too?
The later IS250s have tighter rings and us 0w-20 to help mitigate the carbon buildup. Either way, the carbon buildup isn't a huge deal. It's something that will show up at maybe 100,000 unless you idle it a lot.

LOL!

People never believe it was made in 2006.
iam driven my is250 2006 since 2008 and feeling the same.
Owner of 2007 IS250 with 260k mi. Rattle noise at start up. Im told could possible be cam shaft.
And alternator replaced. Everything else orginal and running great.
I used this car, my parents bought in 2010 and its a 2008 model for around $17k
Still runs amazingly well, has 133k miles, no issues, interior still as new lovely car would love to own one on my own
Scotty, I want to thank you for this video.
Just bought my -09 for $7k and I love it.🥰 fun and zippy, stylish, and reliable. Thanks for the advice and great content Scotty
My 2010 been just been running & running. So far Just oil changes... & tires.. been holding up better than my Honda Accord did....!!!!

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOREVER AND IT’S BEEN POSTED FOR A MONTH OMG
Scotty, I love my 2010 is350, got it for $7,000 used and it's been my daily driver for two years now, best car I've bought in years
How much miles
How much miles. IS350’s are rare in my area
got same exact model and year mine in silver with 130,000 for $ 6,500 i live in los angeles btw
got a 2006 is250 95k miles for 5600 in L.A 👍
We have a 2006 rear wheel drive model bought 6 years ago for about $7k USD in OZ. Other than the alternator and a catalytic converter being replaced, no issues with the vehicle. These are reliable and great value.
My catalytic converted passed smogged before i purchased the 06 250 however i get an egg smell sometimes from the air vents
@@shaunmychale2754it' can be catalytic converter and O2 sensors
I bought 3 weeks ago 10MY IS250. I feel slower than the Volvo s80 d5 what I used to ride, but when I turned on the etc pwr button, it turned into a different car. It's a very impressive response in the city with faster accelerator reactions and repeated torque in congestion, so I'm going to keep it on and on
I have this exact car. I drive it every day, it handles like a dream.
Did you get your dash replaced like he talked about? If so how?!
I definitely enjoy my 2012 IS250 rwd. Just hit 137K. She's a dream! The new dash/door panels didn't hurt!
Did you go to the Lexus dealership to get the sticky dash replaced ?
@@denisee1993 I did. They did it under a recall at no cost to me. Mine actually wasn't all that bad. They also replaced all the door panels.
@@richardk302 that’s so awesome ! I’ve had my is250 for a little over a year, does that matter or can I just call them up and make an appointment ??
@@richardk302 mines is kinda getting worse not that bad honestly though, was thinking about getting a cover for it but might as well give this a shot first !
@@denisee1993 If I were you, I'd call them and see. They actually contacted me about the recall.
@@charlesnicholsonn I had the request put in October of 2020 my lexus dealer told me 3-6 months approval time and 1 day installation when approved
I love my little 250
Do you still have it? How has it been
Bought my 09 new off the showroom fully loaded!! Over 200,000 miles only thing I replaced was the Altenator and shocks at 195,000 miles!! Crazy incredible!!
Something important to mention is that the 2.5 V6 use direct injection and you will have to deal with carbon buildup. On the other hand the 3.5 V6 use dual direct and port injection, no carbon buildup problems....
does the next model of the is250(2014) also have carbon build up?
I want an IS-F, the v8 fast model
They sound great even with the factory stock exhaust !
Isf is the one to get
But a lot more expensive to maintain. The parts are very expensive compared to an ES model. The ES model shares many of the same Avalon parts.
@@musicproducer9952 yea because they're rare
Music producer 360 You are Comparing ES to ISF?
ES is a mass production car. ISF, 11,500 cars made (2008-2014), around 5000 imported to the USA.

Got a 2011 Lexus IS250 with 104,000 for $9000 it was probably the best car I ever owned.
Bought my 2011 is250 for £9500 in 2018 with 33k miles, UK of course
Dont know why they didnt revise the 250 and 350
Just got a 2011 IS250 with 89k miles on it and picking it up tomorrow can’t wait 🤞
Crazy low miles for a Lexus.. congrats
I wanna get one. How is it?
Beautiful. I’ve got a 2012 IS250 and it drives like a dream. Barely stock now ❤️
How much did you pay for it? I’m ironically looking at a convertible version, but same year, model, and with 86K Miles.

Oxidation not corrosion... aluminium doesn’t corrode unless it’s in contact with another corroded metal.

I agree, the only downfall for sure
The is250s only had direct injection so carbon buildup was a big issue, the 350 uses port injection to help that. I’d advise getting a Gs350 or is350. Still gets 30mpg and is much faster.
So true. Work at a Lexus dealership and IS 250 are known for carbon buildup
I have a gs 350 and I agree more room and able to smoke slot more BMW's and Mercedes
Direct injection also causes oil dilution. Stay away from GDI engines at all costs.
@@thingamajig6542 Aren't they all GDI, these days? Most, anyway...
Is250 direct port 💩
I ❤ my 2010 IS 250.AWD. Beautiful inside and out. Luxury features galore. Even a Toyota dealership can work on it, saving you even more money. Quality Quality Quality!!
IS250c Owner, well impressed with this video!
How do you work with the carbon buildup?
@@luuxii if you can find a shop that does walnut blasting, they can help you out. Usually VW and Subaru shops can help you out
As a IS250 Owner, I approve of this video!
I'm on the process of getting a 2006 is250 awd.
Wait the sticky dash isn’t possible anymore is it?
Is the handling more rough comparing to ES?
I have a Pearl White 2008 IS250 AWD.
Best all over car ever owned.
As good in the snow, with all season tires, as my Ford Explorer 4WD. The only difference is obvious with the Explorer’s ground clearance vs. a Lexus sports sedan.
Amazing all around car. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I’ll be looking for another when it’s time to sell this one.
He is the reason why I bought an is250 🙏🏽🙏🏽 2010 is250 owner 🤟🏽
I had IS250. Indeed customer care is amazing in Lexus as well as reliability.
As result I have changed IS250 for IS300h.
Hope this car will be same bulletproof as IS250. So far after over a year of usage no problems at all!
Some IS250s have a carbon build-up problem because it is a direct-injection engine. The IS350 does not have the carbon build-up problem because it has both port and direct injectors.
Love you Scotty! Glad you were able to get it resolved with Lexus. I had an 08 with the same problems and they refused to do anything because the offer expired in 2018 and only had a 3 year period. However, I bought a 2014 F Sport and put a magnaflow in it. Sounds AMAZING! These are great cars! Even at 150K my 08 was running smoooooth!
