I bought my 2006 IS250 Executive 1 months back, never been this fond of a car before, totally in love with it... sexually.. always peeking out the window, looking at it. It has the same features as this IS350, just not cooled seats and that weird sunshield in the back.
I have a 2010 IS AWD luxury package and it has every feature but the headlight washer. Even has the tilting mirrors for parking against a curve. Love my car.
Dude it's so crazy to see how many features this car has that my 2015 Infiniti Q50 Premium doesn't! One more year and I'm trading it in for a Lexus IS.
I’m actually almost done with my 2015 Q50 premium also, one more month and i’m done. I’m looking to get this car but I am going to miss the 328 HP, two digital touch screens and GPS display.
I saw a video recently that really blew my mind about this car. I have an 06 IS350 and realized there’s vents that cool your brakes as your driving. So wind flows through the vents and onto the brakes to cool them off.
Hey, nice video. A few additional points: There is also another cupholder inside the front armrest. The IS was the first car in its segment to provide heated and ventilated (they're not really cooled) seats. Before that, you had to go two segments above to see that (S class, LS, etc.). ECT stands for electronically controlled transmission, not throttle. The rear view camera does have the lines on the screen when you reverse, at least on my 08 (in the UK). One of my favourite voice commands is to automatically set the temperature. For example, "22 degrees", and that's it. The directional and self leveling Xenon light were also pretty cool back then. In Europe it was also sold with a horrible diesel engine that gave a very un-Lexus like driving experience.

My car has been quite updated since this video, so be sure to browse the channel!
I had an 07 is250 but got a 08 350 cause it was obviously the better choice. I’ve had the car for a little less than a year and am so amazed at how much more fun it is to drive. It also came with f sport everything ( suspension, rims exhaust , intake) with 60,000 miles and man these cars are pretty solid. If you want a luxury car with pretty standard features that compares to modern cars in the same price range and is fast enough to have some fun this is the 1! And did I mention they still look awesome 10 years later?
I love all the modifications that you have put on this car! I have a 2007 is250 and I am hopefully going to be upgrading to the is350 soon. I was wondering where you got your wrap for the center console of the inside? Love these vids! Keep up the good work!
Dude... I love my 07 IS350. Ordered it new from Japan. The only thing I would like is the Bluetooth adapter built in for music. Other than that, it has everything that one needs. On the voice commands, you can ask for gas stations , coffee, or fast food and those icons will show up of their locations.
Picked up a 2011 IS250 AWD a few months ago with 100k miles on the ODO. Great car with decent performance for a small v6 - smooth transmission and a solid engine. Mine is the sport package so it doesn't have NAV or memory settings - does come with leather seats/moonroof/dual climate and power everything. Shame it doesn't have the little extras though.. even my 2012 TSX had memory settings and a more updated dash/console area for infotainment.. overall a reliable beauty of a car.
ECT is "Electronically Controlled Transmission". This is super common on JDM cars, Nissan and Toyota autos for example since the late 80s. It basically just increases the shift threshold of the transmission, and decreases the kick down threshold. I would be interested to find out if it actually affects the throttle in any way.
Are you sure the T is for Transmission? I read somewhere it is "throttle" - since PWR makes the gas pedal more responsive and SNOW makes it less responsive.
Unless they changed the acronym, but it definitely used to stand for Transmission (at least for Toyota and Nissan) dating back to before the cars had 'drive by wire' throttles. Back then 'snow' would also sometimes be written as 'hold' which would hold a higher gear and not kickdown a gear as easily, basically just a toggle to switch the shift 'program' of the transmission itself.
Thinking about picking one up. Trying to stay under $10k with less than 110k. I don't really care if it's 250 or 350. Power is not the concern. and since these are timing chained, maintenance should be easy with oil and tires. Edit: don't buy the 250 with the carbon build up, especially with high mileage. If the previous didn't get the recall done for the 06-11 models within the time window, just go straight for the 350.
timing cover leaks are inevitable and costly I work at a lexus dealership as a tech the IS is like the civic of lexus, which is a bad thing based of what customers tend to do to them and in the condition that they bring them.(my personal opinion) I would recommend to anyone get a GS350 instead or if you are really insistent then save your money and buy an ISF, other wise waste of money on buying a is250 or is350

Lol, I can say I am more and more leaning to buying one in 2 yrs or so. That's awesome, I just learnt two things and found another; (08 JDM IS350) 1) Holding down the TRC button long enough does actually fully disable both traction control and VSC. I had previously tried this and noticed it just turned off TRC and that it came on again as soon as I changed gear. So I had been using the 3 on/off of the park brake, then 3 on/off of the foot brake method, which does disable TRC but not VSC. Very happy with learning this, just went for a test skid to confirm I do have an LSD in the rear like I'm supposed to, even if it's only Torsen and not a 'proper mechanical ' type. 2) Holding down the unlock button on the key does make the windows roll down. Does yours also roll the windows up if you hold down the lock button? Mine does but it has this annoying feature where auto up on the drivers window makes it open again about an inch after it rolls all the way up.
That's awesome! Yup, if you press the traction button, the traction control will be disabled for up to 20-30 mph...but holding it down for 10 seconds also turns off VSC! I love the windows down feature, but I haven't gotten mine to go back up...maybe it is a JDM feature.
Joseph Patton-Robson you need to do the pedel dance if not it will safe your or fuck you over depending on the situation trust me on this if you going to go drifting or doing anything basically do the peddle dance 3 brake 3 emergency 2 brake
Marty you have all these features because yours is Sports Luxury. Specially rear power shade and adaptive cruise control doesnt come with any other variant.
You can also turn of the traction control/stability control and have it stay of til you turn the car off. Its call the pedal dance. Park brake on, foot on brake and start, dont release foot off brake, then release and re apply park brake twice, release and reapply brake twice. Do this sequence twice and the traction control light will stay on. You will need to turn the car on to reactivate it.
ETC is Electronic Transmission Control, my 1996 LS400 has it (Normal / Power) and has a metal cable throttle not throttle by electronic wire signal just so y'all know
Hi there! Saw your video and was reading through the comments. Nicely done video. I have a 2008 IS350, also black, loaded, looks quite similar to yours actually. Just thought I'd clear a couple things up: The lines you are referring to on the display while using the back-up camera is actually a separate option known as "parking assist". It's kinda dumb IMO (and I do not have this option either), but basically the car will have the back-up camera regardless, but if you have the parking assist option- it will also have the sensors in the rear bumper, as well as the lines you are referring to on the screen while the camera is in use. Another thing is it appears you do not have the ML audio, but no huge loss there other than the dash unit also having DVD playback capability (I have mine rigged to allow it to play DVD's while moving where normally the car must be in park). The Pioneer stereo is just about as good, but you don't have the rear surround speakers or the dash center channel speaker. Basically the door speaker configuration is slightly different for a net difference of only 1 speaker. I also have the luxury package just like you with the rear power shade, etc. Nice car, and cool to see another like mine! What area are you in?
Hey there! Thanks! They are nice cars for sure. Ah parking assist 🤔 Mine has the front and rear bumper parking sensors, but I guess it doesn’t have that exact option, so no reverse camera lines for me. My brothers 2008 ISF doesn’t have any lines, either, even with the same rear parking sensors. I guess I do have the Pioneer then since mine does not play DVDs. Still a great system and sounds awesome. My sub still works great, too, after all these years. I thought there was a center dash speaker, but I could be wrong on that. The luxury package is definitely nice! I’m in souther central PA - not too far from the Maryland line
@@LensOfMartin Hi! hmmm, now you have me wondering- maybe they don't have the lines at all, but I know the sensors / back-up assist was an individual option. I live in Pittsburgh! Would be cool to catch you guys at a car show sometime. What's the next event you plan on attending?
rhmullen That would be fun! I’ve been to Pittsburgh twice, ever. Not sure of the next event just yet. Usually lots of local stuff and a show in New Jersey also I go to yearly
I am in the market to pick up a use Lexus IS350 from 2006-2013 year and a lots of them have like 130k to 150k plus miles on them. How reliable is this Lexus Engine or the Lexus IS350. Well, I have 181,500 miles on mine and have only done oil changes, brakes, tires, alternator and mods that I wanted to do. The few recalls were free, and the alternator was a $200 part, like any Toyota Corolla or Camry. It’s all Toyota parts, so it’s not expensive to maintain or repair.
If you own a Lexus IS350 from 2006-2013 please post your miles you currently have? and what maintenance you made so for etc.
Thank you so much in advance : )
Bro what the name of those wheels? They go crazy. Currently looking for new wheels for my 3is
They are OptionLab R716!
I like the body style on these cars..thinking about getting one, only thing stopping me is the price of repairs when repairs need to be made
Well, I have 181,500 miles on mine and have only done oil changes, brakes, tires, alternator and mods that I wanted to do. The few recalls were free, and the alternator was a $200 part, like any Toyota Corolla or Camry. It’s all Toyota parts, so it’s not expensive to maintain or repair. The dealers always up charge though. I’d recommend a Lexus for the reliability
Debating whether to buy this one or Infiniti g35 manual
I know that these cars have VSA that don't make you be tail-happy however you can turn that off and back on without going to a tune shop
The unlock button for the rolling down of the windows Im worked on my 07 tsx Also on 05 Nissan Altima 🤷🏽♂️
Love the vids , keep it up 👌🏻
Pretty cool review. Thanks
