From initially driving it home from Detroit all the way back to Philly, to now just a couple hundred miles away from hitting 200k, this has been the most reliable car I've had BAR NONE. never got a CEL, starts up EVERY time without fuss. All I've done is drilled/slotted rotors/carbon ceramic pads/axle-back exhaust/paddle extenders, and though its underpowered compared to modern vehicles, still puts a smile on my face, especially in sport+ with traction control completely off lol. Will drive this thing till the wheels fall off, especially considering newer cars are FAR less reliable and more expensive to get and maintain...
IS 350 i would say is good daily driver car, definitely has alot of aftermarket parts for that year model. This has a very reliable v6 engine the 2gr-fse and it is NA (naturally aspirated) so it will hold up for a very long time. The nice part of that year model is that its awd which is really nice in northern states. As long as you keep up with your maintenance you good. I own a 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD bought it at 24k and now at 28k miles, same engine but its more of an updated version, 2gr-fks. Love the avalon trd and my car is more discrete because of how rare of a find it is and they don't make it anymore so i break everyone's neck lol. I will say if you really pushing for Scatpack, its a nice v8 but it has some cons to it, you become a cop magnet, car can easily get stolen more nowadays, gas guzzler, and everyone will try to race you lol. I believe an alternative you might like but it will cost a little more than a scatpack is a RC F or IS 500. IS F is a bit rare to find in a good condition but they will be high mileage, GS F is even more rare. Those V8 engines are slept on for its reliability. Basically trade power for reliability but can still have fun with the engine sounds. Something you can look into for V8s. Not trying to steer you away from a scatpack but of course test drive them first, its all about how comfortable you are to driving a car or purpose of using that car.

i bought a 2011 IS350 AWD in 2023 with 113k miles on it. Hasn't given me much issues as i do quite a bit of driving. Things i've had to replace include the brakes (front), mechanic mentioned to me valve cover gasket was leaking oil got that fixed, and cv axles. Other than that, everything has been solid. Occasional rattle in the cabin, apparently its common issue but... Funny thing, you mentioned a mechanic telling you that engine bay was leaking oil and it was gonna be a multiple thousand dollar fix... Same thing happened to me, mechanic told me "a plate was leaking oil" and the way lexus/toyota made their engines it was going to take a lot of labor ($4.8k) worth to fix. Took it to another mechanic, they fixed my valve cover gasket and the leaking oil... but never said anything about a plate leaking. A month later had mechanic do a sweep of my vehicle, no leaking oil. So that initial statement of leaking oil costing potentially $4.8k, i think was just extremely false or mistake. Made no sense, b/c i trust my initial first mechanic
Same thing happened to me, I went to my local Lexus dealership for the fuel system recall. After getting the vehicle back the service advisor told me my cam towers were leaking oil and I was quoted 8k. I went to a toyota mechanic and after inspection he found nothing

I owned one. It’s overmatched for the weight of the car. Too much weight to pull around and not enough torque available at low rpms. Smooth runner and I would get 32mpg going 75mph all day long. Got an Audi S3 after it and that’s when I really understood how much the 2.5 V6 was not enough engine for the car. The Audi is quick, a 4.4 second 0-60 car so the difference is striking.
@@michaelangelo5783 That’s not true. I live in a climate that gets snow. In 2006, the IS 350 was only offered in RWD. And I did not know about snow tires and keeping weight in the back, etc. I only remembered my Fathers RWD Mercedes getting stuck in snow and I didn’t want to deal with that. The IS 350 is totally worth it for the extra power and torque. And that would have been my choice had I known how to deal with RWD in snow. I have an S3 now which is a 4.7s 0-60 car (4.4s with launch control) and I rarely get to enjoy the power because the streets where I live are always clogged with cars. But I digress. And I do agree that the upgrade to an IS 350 is worth it.

These cars tend to leak oil at the head gasket... easy job it seems. Make sure all the liquids are changed every 4 years including coolant to prevent engine "leaks".
150k is high. I'd want full maintenance records (Trans/diff fluid, spark plugs, water pump/coolant) and maybe even a compression check done as people beat on these cars...or have a Dragy acceleration device and measure its 0-60 and 1/8 mile times to see if it pulls as it should.

Do NOT waste your money or time on an ISF. There's a reason why they didn't sell, because they were the slowest hunk of shit in their category. You're better off finding a E55/C63 AMG or CTS-V. The IS if a very reliable car and yes i know how great the UZ engine family is, but for the money you don't even get a LSD... ISF's were 15-20K 2 years ago and that's really all they are worth. You can get a E55 AMG for HALF the price of an ISF, and the AMG is a faster, more luxurious, better sounding, more aftermarket support vehicle.
Lol there's a reason the Eurotrash is half the price of a V8 Lexus F car. Oh, the 2010+ isf has the lsd and you can buy a used one for $300 and swap it in the 08-09 model. Don't forget full bolt ons on the v8 will boost it to 450-460 WHEEL horsepower (520 crank hp).

Im tryna get an used is500 when the price good. Id consider a new ish 350 but that lexus v8 sounds incredible. Got a fun 2018 Si tho for now.
Yeah it probably is sweating oil out of the timing chain cover. It is a ton of labour to fix.
I have access to a lift and I've seen a sweat out of my timing chain cover. Apparently it's super common to The 2gr-fse. But someone recommended to try at-205. I got some gonna see if it seals it up. Never trusted additives but maybe it works.
Keep me posted if you can fix it? I need to find a more reasonable price to fix it.
@@x0tem I'll add the at205 and lyk how it goes

Does your infotainment screen have like a black gloss over it like the ISF has? It seems so from an angle...
pleased car lovers here, between is350 011 vs is350 013 which is a better buy , rugged, has less fuel economy consumption and reliabile ? please i need an honest answer guys
Same car minor refresh. Just get the newer one
I bought the same car last year for $15,500 with 76k miles. Are your wheels the oem ones? Power coated black?
@@Erick-h5t OEM and yeah coated gloss black
where did u get the brake stuff? thanks
amazon bro! it’s linked in the brake video
How was the paint condition when you bought yours? Got the same year and everything as yours at 107k miles and has scrsfches that are minor and some are deep. Did you have to repaint or do some touch ups on yours?
hey so mine does have scuffs and peeling on one side. I’m saving up to fix it. I may just wrap it instead.
@@x0temthanks for the response. I’ll probably do the same at some paint, but for now I am thinking of just doing touch up for now.
Should I purchase a 2006 Lexus is350 with 157000 miles for $7k.? Thanks..
Id day do your homework. Maintenance intervals followed every 5k? Hell yes buy it.
I have a 2016 is350f. Got it w/ 65k mi. It's been a solid car. I always put regular gas in it with occasional injector cleaner. Do you guys put in premium or is regular ok?
Stick with premium! Car runs better
how is the slotted roter treating the brake pads? Heard they were like a cheese grater to pads.
@@hoangsolo6351 I thought it’d be bad but so far so good! No issues, except my front ones that I didn’t change get rust on them when it’s humid or rains (need to change those)
I have a 4thGen GS350 and my son has a 2iS250.....the 2.5 V6 is seriously underpowered.
Yep, absolutely zero reason to get the 250 instead of a 350. 102hp and 93 tq difference for maybe 1-2mpg less...and a 5.0s 0-60 vs a 7.4 in the is250.
I just bought a 2010 is250 with 192k miles for 6700$ do you think it was a good price? I love the car, interior is excellent, paint is not perfect but is good and engine is also good
100k miles and he thinks its high mileage. I've a xc90 2003 model at 620.000 kilometres. :
How many engine and trannies?
Tbf most cars die around 250k miles. 620k is a major outlier and honestly I've never seen a car in real life get close to that many miles.
@@CentinalxGaming because most people do bare min for maintenance a car. Some don't do anything.
@@CentinalxGaming 620k kilometers is around 385k miles
Impressive! I am trying to get there with a 2000 Eclipse...currently at 321,000 miles. I consider my Lexus is250 low mileage at 91,000. haha
These cars tend to leak oil at the head gasket... easy job it seems. Make sure all the liquids are changed every 4 years including coolant to prevent engine "leaks".
Not head gasket, valve cover gasket. HUGE difference $$$$.

Hey what do you think should i buy for 10k IS 2011 or IS 2015?
Do you think 12,000 for a 2011 with 150,000 is a good deal or should I try and lure him down to 10,000k?
7k
150k is high. I'd want full maintenance records (Trans/diff fluid, spark plugs, water pump/coolant) and maybe even a compression check done as people beat on these cars...or have a Dragy acceleration device and measure its 0-60 and 1/8 mile times to see if it pulls as it should.
Hey man I'm thinking about buying a 2009 IS 350 with 98k miles for 9.5k. It's salvage title but the owner said it's been running for 20k miles in 2 years perfectly fine with no issues. Do you think I should buy it?
Also how much do you think I should try to negotiate; asking price is 10.5 thousand
Hey bro! I wouldn't get a car with a salvage title for that price. For like 12K you can get one that isn't salvaged
Yeah, salvage 09 should be like 6-7k.
my lexus is250 has 21k miles rn but it doesn’t feel fast enough for me, what should I do if i also don’t wanna sell it? would it be stupid to supercharge it because that’s the only way i’m gonna make real power

125k is high mileage???
no lol it's just for the title
Why would you ever change the calipers at 125k? Rotors, I completely understandbut I thought this was a joke. When you said you changed the calipers, you got played, son.
It’s a common issue where the gaskets on the calipers crumble and seize up on 2is, in the video where i change the brakes you can see the damage and how close it was to seizing up. Better safe than sorry lol

How is the reliability on E55 AMG? I never thought about getting a E55 AMG
