After 36 years, I still love this song - it brings back such memories. I used to listen to it on my Walkman on my way home from a crappy late-night job at a downtown Toronto hotel during the summer of 1984. At the time, I was very young and very smitten by a another staff-member who clearly had no interest in me. In my own mind, I was the "victim" and the line "You're always there like a ghost in my dreams" rang very true. Nothing ever came of it and I eventually left the job - and the object of my desire went on to enjoy a highly successful international career in the hotel business. I was considerably less successful - and my life hasn't been a particularly happy one.. whoever said it was fair?

What a beautiful vocal. George is easily one of the most sublime singing talents that this country has ever produced. "Feel like a child on a dark night. Wishing there was some kind of Heaven. I could be warm with your smiling. Put out your hand for a while. The Victims, we know them so well." Roy Hay's piano is beautiful and haunting.Perfect pop song - transcends the genre.

I was there in the 80's. I bought "Colour By Numbers" when it first hit the store shelves. Enjoyed every track, and I mean every track. The song arrangement, the lyrics, the un-mentioned album hero Helen Tery, and George's voice made this a thoroughly soothing album. But it's amazing how one TV show can add a different facet to something you once thought in the beginning. VH1's "Behind The Music - Culture Club" when George openly admitted that all his songs were about, and to John. And it's like, 'wow, that puts a new spin on things'. Nonetheless, decades later, these songs still resonate a good vibe to all of us who were there during that time. Memories become alive, once again.

I love Culture Club too love all of their songs
Fabulous song, Culture Club are just great aren’t they?
After learning of his struggles with his band mate, and listening closely to the lyrics, you can feel the pain. Even his “fun” songs have similarly passion filled lyrics.
How did Jon react ?
This is the song with which Boy George and Culture Club have consecrated their musical maturity. For me it is their most beautiful song ever
Probably one of Culture Clubs best songs. I love George's hat, very Philip Treacy..and the awesome Helen Terry. I never tire of hearing this ❤️
I absolutely love culture club and adore boy George this is a beautiful song my favorite son ever no man will ever be able to sing like boy George
A Timeless Masterpiece.
Every word, the musical score, the vocals (main & backing), the story, the sentiment.
The victims we know so well...
SIMPLESMENTE LINDO!
MÚSICAS MARAVILHOSAS QUE TOCA NO NOSSO ESPÍRITO.
Toca El corason
By far and away, Culture Clubs best song in my opinion.
It's Christmas 22 and I am listening to it now
One of my favourite numbers from this album. Beautiful melodies and lyrics and sung with such feeling and purity of voice. Lovely.
One of the most beautiful, underated songs ever.

Epic. One of George's best songs ever.
I cry when i watch this but its tears of memories from back then of how things used to be wow how beautiful is he in this video
An absolute classic this, George's voice, the lyrics, the musicians - all terrific. Looking at Culture Club's best song's, and this is certainly one of them, they're always about love, but never in a corny way or oversentimental, it's music from the soul.
