    The rear diferential is lighter than the one in the X3 plus the drive shaft is made of carbon fiber. The brake by wire was design by Continental specifically for these cars. Its way lighter and takes up less space. Reverse Ackermann steering is something you are not going to see on other SUVs.
    This car deserves a more in depth review.

      More in depth? There’s 50 mins here, it doesn’t miss much else. I’ve just bought one and wish I’d seen it before..

    So, regarding updates the Stelvio and Giulia have seen....In 2020, the most important update was the touch screen Navi and the elimination of a rather cheap looking chunk of plastic that surrounded the gear shifter on the center console. From 2022 on, Alfa SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPENED the interiors. I have a custom ordered 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio in Comp Red with black interior with contrast red stitching everywhere and a 2020 Stelvio Ti Sport (top level trim at that time after the Quadrifoglio) which is Trofeo White with Red interior. The red interior at that time got you not just red seats, but red lower dash, red center console and arm rest, red door card inserts and red contrast stitching on steering wheel and gear shift lever and if you had the leather dash and leather door tops (which was optional) red stitching on the dash and the doors. It was quite premium feeling. From 2022 on, if you ordered red interior all you got was red seats. It's as if you stole the seats out of my car and put them in a new car with black and more black and more seas of black EVERYWHERE !!! Even the Quadrifoglio versions went away from the Alcantara inserts which looked far more premium than the standard leather sport seats...In Stelantis's hands, I fear for dark days ahead for Alfa....I don't want an ELECTRIC ALFA and I NEVER WILL

    Best bang for buck SUV on the market

    The Georgio platform was a skunkworks project headed up by Philippe Krief (whose last project before that was the Ferrari 458 Speciale) composed of many ex Ferrari engineers also; Alfa Romeo was only a brand of Fiat since 1986 when its own philosophy in engineering died also and either Fiat or Ferrari were the two engineering centres. The video is incorrect saying that the Georgio platfrom chassis will never be seen again. Stellantis gave the Georgio chassis to Maserati wholesale because ex FCA chief Marchionne's projected Alfa sales using the Georgio platform for Giulia/Stelvio were not realised and it lives on in the new Maserati Grecale of 2022 and the new Maserati Granturismo just launched 2023, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee launched 2022. Funny also the video mentioning if Ferrari designed the interior this is what is might look like because most of the team that developed the car as stated were ex Ferrari. Lastly Alfa Romeo buyers are particular and do not buy the car for the incar entertainment or interior quality! Audi/Mercedes do that better. The Stelvio drives like a normal car not an SUV and breathes with the road not tight in suspension as its German rivals and is cool and different.

      That is not true, the Germans do slightly better interior but only the 150.000 euros trims but under 100k they give you cheap plastics while Alfa gives you their highest trim, also BMW doesn’t give the real leather anymore so it is plastic from the bottom to the top of the line, make some research before writing nonsense.

      @@adriano8809 I have seen BMW interiors personally so it is not nonsense but fact comparing like for like in the same category car! In general they are for build quality superior in fit and finish than Alfa Romeo and that is also mentioned in every single test also by independent reviewers that I saw. The Alfa has excellent build quality but just not as good. I am an Alfista and the Alfa shines in many areas where the BMW does not, especially in driver enjoyment.

    • @adriano8809

      @@cbca6567 but yet I have seen hundreds of BMW owners destroying their interiors with leather conditioning products because that indeed is not leather but fake leather and indeed it is poor quality material which is something you will not find inside the Stelvio or Giulia.

    • @cbca6567
      @cbca6567 6 месяцев назад

      @@adriano8809 I disagree apart from the fact i was stating overall build quality not just fabric material. Regarding leather I too dislike "modern" leather, and "all" modern leather has a protective "plastic" coating over it that makes it seem not like real leather. This is true of the interiors I see on Ferrari and Porsche also, not better or worst than Alfa Romeo, that has that same plasticky feel to it. In fact i was thinking the same that if i ordered a car today with leather i would request the old way so you feel the leather grain.

    • @adriano8809
      @adriano8809 6 месяцев назад

      @@cbca6567 no, Alfa uses premium grain, you can see and feel it, BMW uses 100% faux leather.

    Don't think the Stelvio Quad comes with an active front splitter (Giulia Quad only) ...also Stelvio Quad and Giulia Quad no longer offer Alcantara inserts...see my note on cheapened Alfa interiors since 2022 below....Most important interior option is the glass pano roof to let some light in, otherwise it's a black coffin inside there....

    Were it not for Sergio Marchionne, Alfa would never have returned to the US and more importantly, vehicles such as the Giulia and Stelvio would never have been produced. Sergio wanted to reinvent Alfa with a vengeance and take on the Germans with a big MIDDLE FINGER that was the Giulia and Stelvio Quads. It was a matter of national pride for him. Sadly his passing left Alfa orphaned (yet again) and under Stelantis, their vision is one of "Electrified Alfas". It shows how out of tune they are with the traditional Alfa fanboy....a gearhead, not a plughead...NEXT
