I loved this! I had this same one as a kid. Last week when we were cleaning out my mom's house I spotted it in the dumpster I had rented, my soulless sister had tossed it out! Needless to say I rescued it. :)
Thats awesome
From trash to treasure, nicely done, sir.
You sir are a BAD MAN. This was like watching the 1st episode of Pimp My Tonka. Supreme work this episode. 💪🏾💯
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Maybe someone should start a channel just for that. I'd subscribe.
Out standing ! lopsided up sided, who cares nice to watch a artist at work. Bravo.
That was quite the conversion. My brother had that toy when he was a kid, and he likes RC cars. He would love this.
That's one of the coolest videos I've ever seen.
Paint is awesome! Turned out unbelievable! Thanks...
Sand-Blasting is so satisfying!
WOW!!!!! what a restoration. Really nice Tonka Rock Crawler!!!!.
Glad you enjoyed it
Tune the suspension and she'll ride perfect.
I had that Tonka as a boy in the 70’s.
That fractured blue was awesome
I used to have one of these trucks when I was younger
This is wold's best restoring
Great job, the paint job like magic.... Chop the top, bigger shocks.... This is a winner...
I used to roll my GI Joe down a really steep hill in one of these. His head came off once lol.
Sand blasting the hood was incredibly satisfying.
Lol, I was going to say the same thing. 🖖🏻
Yep, I gotta agree; satisfying.
This was one of my favorite toys.
That sand blasting is so cool
Oh my goodness folks, now THAT'S how you do not only a restoration, but making it motorized!! Awesome episode Tim, one of the best I've seen and I watch a number of restoration videos. Great color for the new Tonka and so many of your craftsmanship skills and creativity were on full display. I look forward as always to your next project and you and yours stay healthy and safe. Cheers from this old retired coot living in Tennessee.💖 👍 😷 🍻 👀 ✌
Had one of these as a kid. I'd sit on it and scoot down the driveway. Such a strong toy.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
As a kid I always wanted one of these trucks
The tonka jeep looks like it has been through a apocalypse
Omg that tonka truck bring back so many memories or my child hood that was my favorite toy truck ever I loved the truck
Krásně jste ho zmodernizoval.
Modern painting techniqes are awesome :) greetings from Poland :)
Sorry for all the comments but damn bro... beautiful... and the fracturd blue is mind blowing ...
I should have kept the Tonka dump truck I had as a kid! This RC conversion is cool!
Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love that New color you choose !!!!!!!!!!!!
Great to see Duke again!
That was an awesome conversion. It was great to see this toy restored and repirposed even better than before! Excellent work!
Great Job! I love it. I had one of these and it came with a jack and a spare tire. My G.I. Joes were always fixing flats. LOL. I also had a Ford F-150 RC truck that I painted dark blue and painted the rims black. So your project reminded me of two of my favorite toys as a kid. Thank You. :-)
Excellent job and the paint looked amazing.
The Fractured Blue is a WINNER! What a GREAT JOB you did on this one.
Congratulations for your beautiful project. 👏👏👏👏
I bet the people at Tonka never thought that their toys could be modified to operate with R/C equipment. Looks real nice.
I'm sure old Duke enjoys 'driving' his new ride around your property.
hey great modification keep the army guy amused
Pure bloody genius. You get the best of two worlds. The scale and size of the wheels are so close to the original Tonka wheels. Need more of this but with another iconic Tonka truck. Brilliant idea, thanks for sharing.
Big ass truck, amazing job with paint.
Nice Restoration; I had that toy truck when I was a kid!
Your skills know no bounds, awesome job there converting from push drive to electric drive. I really don’t have anything else to say, you are brilliant what more can I say. Cheers mate.
Thanks 👍
Fantastic engineering. As usual a top notch job.
Fantastic powder coat
One of the best job of yours work. Amazing restoration and good RC conversion.
Fantastic job!! Great to see you take a different strategy!! 💯👍👍
Big Jim never had a better upgrade!
Except for the slight suspension lean, in a word... WOW!!!
This is what all i wants and dreamed about to do with toy cars when i was a kid. Tune them so you can drive them like this😻😻.
I had to watch this. I had that exact Tonka when I was a kid.
Pimp my Tonka! nice job.
😍😍😍👏👏👏
.. from Italy.. Amazing paint trasformation 👍
Only half way done with this video, but man you got perfection stills doing this.
Nice build. I was very happy to see that you added a driver.
Good god I had that! Was my favorite toy ever! Wow!! Memories!
Brilliant! It was just amazing. The dude looked happy! I know I was.
After a long day doing Army stuff, watching this is therapeutic.
Man I wish I still had my Tonka dump truck ide have you pimp it out too fantastic work
Coolest thing I’ve seen today.
I really like your choice of interior color. I would have gone the easy route and blacked it out. But, you picked a great color. It's really close. Love the build.
That was just so cool!!!!! Would love to have that.!!
I had this exact car as a kid.. the kittens hated me.. cause they were 'race car drivers'.. lol.
I had one too. Lol at the kitties!
Mine were test dummies and stunt kitties.
Yes............I had issues as a kid, but am an animal lover to the core.
I had one too. Brings back some memories of scooting around sitting on it. Makes me miss the 80's even more. :(
My brother and I each had one, I loved 'working' on it changing the tires. Now I do the same thing on my Jeep every weekend (although not quite for the same reason!)
@@shanerountree3623 let's just hope you're not letting the kittens drive as I did ... lol.
Awesome work & restoration! Looks super Bad Ass!!!👍👍
Absolutely delightful. Super job.
Thank you very much!
loved it. I had one of those old trucks in the 70s always hated it when the wheels feel off.
That's some serious skills brother!
That is one beautiful truck
Beautiful conversion!
I went into this video looking for a reason to cut it up. I finish the video amazed, and respectful of your craftsmanship. Great video!
Super job. Nice color choice.
Awsome job love the RC effect the possibilities with this was endless
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@TRGRESTORATIONS your so welcome
I have this truck. I’m 46 and received it as a kid. Mine is in better condition, but needs an overhaul. I put a lot of miles on that truck! It’s in our basement and our 7 year old son plays with it.
Wow that thing is huge! Or maybe it just looks that way because I watched these out of order and saw the tiny truck video first 😄😄😄
I liked that you put a little driver in there! Otherwise it would have been a huge missed opportunity 😂
The remodel turned out really great!
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great work on this reservation. It turned out great. Put it on a mantle.
That was my favourite toy in the late 70s early 80s. I still owned it up until about three years ago, it was in mint condition and I had all the accessories for. Sadly we moved and I couldn't bring it with us so I had to throw it out. I really appreciated your video giving that toy a new life. Well done.
Extraordinario felicitaciones 👏👏👏👏👌👍💪
You are a genius.
Big Jim's got a pimpin' ride!
DAM! YOU BROUGHT LIFE INTO THAT OLD RUST BUCKET!!! Excellent!! That sandblasted is the highlight. 😄😄😄😄

Wow wow wow! Love it love everything about it. That paint job tho!
Your videos are more awesome everytime. 👍
Far and away my favorite piece of your work. This is nothing short of awesome. And by the way, get a chuckle out of the kids cheering for the sandblaster every time. Great work dude
Bad Ass!! Very cool transformation/restoration.

Bronco is born
I had a red one of these trucks as a kid, my brother had one too in blue. We played so much with those trucks.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Coolest refurb ever. Looks alot better lifted up. Had a little bit of a gangster lean to the right.
I like your oven for powder coating that is great idea.
Awesome paint job. Is it just me or is the finished product sitting on a tilt/angle?
"Nah, it's just cos you're only wearing one shoe". ~ Happy Gilmore
Yeah, seems to list to the right.
@@AngryTurds haha, good one!
He need a 3 link setup or a "twist bar" don't remember the eng word for it. All regular cars have it. This is a normal behavior of heavy rc cars but are easy to get rid of
@@joseflindbom7680 I think you mean a torsion bar
Very nice ride there !
Ok, you just did that to have your own fun! And man does it look like it!
Loved the paint! Great choice! Great work again!!
