Hey! I bought this truck off of Facebook Marketplace for $20. Do you think it was worth it? I made it a bit custom as you can see with the decals as it is a gift for someone. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you all have a great day! Blessings, Kev
Collectors want original paint. If you restore to original colors that is pretty good too. Customized might not be great. If you tried it on eBay, you might get close to $200 for it. Original paint in decent shape gets you maybe $300. So from an economic view, you did well. As a gift it can't be priced. It could be priceless to the gift receiver.
This speaks volumes for the quality of the original manufacture …. Can’t imagine a single current designed toy that would endure like this …. Fantastic job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
From someone who's been in and around concrete design and construction some 45 years ..... THANK YOU for correctly calling this a "concrete truck" and not a "cement truck"!! btw - I enjoyed your video; great restoration project and finish. 👍👍👍👍👍
Indeed it is! I'm not ashamed to admit that I got misty eyed. I hope my former sandbox toys found their way(s) to similar caring hands. I had to wash and put mine away after every play session. My dad sold them carelessly to a toy dealer. 💔😭 Some were gifts from a family friend's son after he outgrew them. They survived a direct tornado hit! Yeah for Tonkas!!!! I still have my bulldozer but lost my scraper. Also lost was a Tonka Jeep camper. I didn't figure that I'd find one on eBay. I found two and got them! ❤❤
Beautiful work. 👍👍May I suggest a sonic cleaner. I did a restoration on an old tow truck I had as a kid and used it to clean lots of the parts. The tires turned out especially good.
Excellent! I liked the filter idea you had for containing the powder coating dust, I might have to do something similar. I already have a small oven waiting in my attic for the day I get the rest of the setup complete. Well done.
Awesome! And yes it does help. I frequently clean the filter. I’d like to add a second filter and fan eventually. Good luck on your set up and have a great weekend!
I love these restorations, but something i am curious of. Giving the quality of your work. Does it take away from the value versus if you hadn't? Or does it make it worth more because it's brought back to s amazing condition?
Wasn't sure I'd watch the entire video, but I did, and I'm glad! I worry that if I undertook a project like that, I'd have three parts leftover with no idea where they went. Obviously not your first rodeo. Nicely done, and well edited! Sure does help to have the right tools, eh?!? I hope the lucky recipient is shown the video so he or she will appreciate how much work went into the restoration. John 3:16! God bless!
Do you sell any of your restorations.....brings back childhood memories , I had a steam shovel that you wound up the string and the shovel would open and close...FANTASTIC work my friend
Beautiful work! Great job on the mechanical parts & repairs, well done. I must be honest though, I haven't seen very many baby blue concrete mixer trucks rolling around! Overall, very good job! Very nice truck!
I still have that exact toy cement truck from when it was new and I was four years old, got it for Christmas. There was a matching tow truck that pulled a plastic car

¡Me encantan tus restauraciones!
The fact that you found a gear assembly for this truck on eBay is a testament to enduring design of this classic toy.
I agree! These toys were built to last.
I was eating something, and not paying too much attention when that happened. So I thought it was a real mouse for a second.
This speaks volumes for the quality of the original manufacture …. Can’t imagine a single current designed toy that would endure like this …. Fantastic job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The mouse!!!! Not only are you a master at restoration, your videos are never boring 👍🏾
Thanks for the support! I appreciate the feedback! Have a great week!
As a former “40 year” concrete contractor, I approve this restoration. 👍🏻

@@billdryden6275 As a retired concrete contractor, I concur; concrete, not cement. Generally, this is a “Ready Mix Concrete” truck.
