Nothing like an open Fireplace to warm the cockels of the Soul. Living in the New England area of NSW, temps vary from minus 10 to 30 plus. Love the Sun, Snow and crisp clean air of the Highlands. 🌞❄🌬

Oh - that brings back memories of toast cooked on an open fireplace at my aunt & uncle’s place in central Tasmania when I was growing up! One of the great things in life!!
After growing up in Tassie, I’m now a huge fan of Bendigo winters when the temperature barely ever goes below 5 degrees- I swear, it’s almost tropical here 😂😂😂

My Grandfather was very strict and I never heard him swear. He was on a anti aircraft gun in Darwin served in Borneo and was a Middle weight boxer for Army. if he ever said Strick Me Blimin Pink, it was time to run. The good old strap. I have never been able to say the C word. Everthing about it is revolting, that's not swearing. That's poor parenting.

The c word really is revolting- I’m the same, I can’t say it & I’m disgusted if I ever hear anyone say it!

I am going to pretend that the fact you grew up in the Arctic States of OZ is the reason for your thoughts on sport Cheeky. I was raised by my Grandparents and if it wasn't for my Grandfather being able to sit in the car and listen to Frank Hyde call Football, I may not of ever been born. I really like theses 10 pound Poms. While the Boss may always sound Very British, I think Old Mate could be orating Banjo on Audible before his turning up daisies. They have really embraced our culture and most of the lingo. I concur with the comment below , Potato bake is Yum Yum Yum with sugar on top.

Yep- I never thought about it, but I’ve only ever been to one footy game (under 18s) in my entire life- it was always too cold to go to games in Tassie & I guess too, with Tassie not having any teams in the big leagues when I was growing up, that was probably also a factor. I adore Poms who come here & embrace our culture, such a great addition to our country- I’m probably a little biased though because my mum’s best friend, when I was growing up, originally came from Manchester & was always an “aunt” to us kids & I’ve had some awesome work colleagues in the past also who were Poms!

@@CheekyKoala My Great Grandfather had a small part in My Fair Lady before moving to OZ. I have a love hate because of growing up with Grandfathers and uncles playing and loving sport. The Old Enemy and 99.94 and all that. lol

well rugby I would say it not football that you throwing the ball more then kicking it. Yet AFL IS Far more near to be calling it football, because you have to kick it in most places and scoring.

You are completely wrong about football which is not surprising as you are a Mexican. Firstly there are two Rugby codes, Rugby League Football, and Rugby Union Football (note the word football in both of them). AFL on the other hand is generally known as Aerial Ping Pong in the northern states. Soccer can be referred to as soccer or football.

I’m not a Mexican, I’m 100% dinky di- however, as I mentioned, I live in Victoria where very few people, regardless of being sports enthusiasts or not, follow rugby - I also mentioned that I don’t follow sports so admitted that I knew very little about the 3 sports other than that down here in the Southern States, we don’t consider rugby or soccer to be football but rather they are separate sports - that said - I’ve never heard rugby being referred to as anything other than Australian Rugby League or Rugby Union - never with “football” in the title- just curious: are you Australian? (I’m guessing probably not if you can’t actually recognise that I have an Australian accent)
