  • In this video, I react to a video from a RUclipsr who is commenting on the things she wishes she knew before coming to Australia. I found this one rather interesting as she was coming at it as someone who has travelled somewhat more than some of the people I’ve looked at previously.

Thank you. People are so quick to resort to the ozone layer theory because they can't be bothered to fact check.

When we cover ourselves too much and wear sun screen 24/7 , we block vitamin D absorption and then you end up with low vitamin D . I don’t wear sunscreen everyday unless I am outside all day or at a beach . I still can tan . It is chilly at night in Sydney but on a sunny day , it can feel warm . Backpackers tend to rent old houses that are double brick and the landlords don’t provide heating . My house is insulated and I have full duct air conditioning . Backpackers exaggerate everything anyway , especially when they say we never wear shoes . Lol They spend 1 to 2 years in Australia and think they know everything about Australia . They even argue with me , thinking they know better. I have lived in Australia since 1967 , so us locals know better .

Northern NSW has snow, heavy frost and cold winds, much like the temperature of most train station platforms. It's a balmy 9.3 here with wind gusts of 65 km, I think a teaspoon of cement is prescribed. I don't think Aussie males take liberties with a Ladies names as easy as we do with other blokes. Roaches love humidity. The only fashion I know is Elle Macpherson. Popularity has its price, my beloved Sydney is paying the price for it's success. I can remember my Mum giving me $5 to go in and pay for half a tank of fuel, Menthol cigs and a box of Bex or Vincents if they were out. Fuel was 9 cents per litter, cigs 32 cents and Bex I don't know. I do remember you were supposed to have A Good Lie Down with your Bex. $5 wont buy you a pie now, even a Servo one.

Great reaction! Yeah the vast amount of Sydney does not get frost, but, as you know, Sydney is a vast sprawl so you may occasionally see frost in the far western suburbs. I now live one and a half hours drive south of Sydney in the Southern Highlands and we get quite a lot of frosts every winter. No snow as yet but it has happened in the past.

I am glad someone if having a go at correcting these 'Australian Videos". I live south of Sydney and not far from the coast. The seasons on the east coast of Australia can be very blurred, therefore, deciduous trees losing their leaves depends on where they are growing and how hot or cold it is in that location, for example, it is June, and where I live, some trees have dropped their leaves, while others, still have all their leaves. in northern NSW, some deciduous trees turn into evergreen trees.
