Possibly. We don’t have the start of the interaction however, she might have started off calm, he could have been an ass about it, saw she was getting agitated so decided to record, then she sees him taking out the phone so she wants to record her side of it (not realising previous context was lost)

Something that charlie overlooked: in situations like these it's also very common for people to start filming, not just because or even at all because they want attention, but because they want to show it to the police and press charges.

We need a judge-judy esque tv show where people come in and show videos of their freakouts and Charlie just points out every stupid thing one person does and sentences them lmao
Very well behaved dog. Not even barking at the lunatic. I still agree with Charlie that dogs belong on leashes in public, but this happy little canine is the leading example of the counterpoint
Pretty much lol. God it’s such a cowardly thing to do, like why handle the situation like an adult when you can just film your meltdown for the court of public opinion.
I love how you mentioned that calm doesn’t mean 100% right. I hate the man disregarding the dog being leashed and I hate the woman for being so annoying and not just quietly reporting him
I think if a dog isn’t trained to be well behaved it should required to be leashed, but this dog is clearly well trained to remain calm and not attack people or run off. The owner probably knows this and is the reason he’s not on a leash.
Ok there Adolf that's the wrong answer if you silently report people for misdemeanors youre a piece of shit if no one's injured or in danger just be an adult "hey man we have a leash law in our area and I won't report you but someone else might" that's all you gotta say when I approach people like an adult instead of snitching it's wild how quickly they fix the issue
I used to live overlooking a dog park and every time a dog killed or seriously injured another dog the owner would say something along the lines of “he’s never done that before”
I heard that exact same phrase once. after that the owner of the dog had to drive me to the hospital to get an anti-dogstuff vaccine and pay for my meds
That's the craziest part of the video for me. Pretty unbelievable how that dog didn't bite her, not even bark at her!! Maybe he was so confused by her stupidity. Like "Please b*tch, I could eat you alive if I wanted to. I choose not to, better get outta here before I change my mind" Haha!
yeah i get that people use pitbulls for fighting, and they genetically have bad rep, but imo its not the breed of dog that determines aggression just like humans of a certain race are not naturally more aggressive its the circumstance and how they were raised
@@sadlife8495 Yes thats the reason a whole subreddit exist that disproves your point, cause all of them were "well trained, the sweetest and most innocent dog", also the statistics are pretty evident in that regard. But hey if your super well trained, innocent baby pitbull eats your child, remember by your own stance, its your fault.
I used to have a wonderful loving smaller dog but, whether or not through my own inability to socialise him adequately, he tended to be aggressive towards other male dogs. In our walks I always had him in a leash of course, but over 15 wonderful years the amount of fights he got into with unleashed dogs was incredible. Almost every single one of those owners would let their dogs approach mine no matter what I said, confidently saying that their dog "is a sweetheart ", "harmless" etc. Ive had to kick several of them quite brutally which I absolutely hate to do. I really wished I could just kick the owners.
i only ever walk my dog unleashed in the very early morning on empty back roads and i always have a leash with me. i take training very seriously and i think walking unleashed is important for him to learn how to listen to me without physical restrictions, but the actions described in this comment are deplorable and irresponsible. when dogs get into fights they rely on their instincts not their training and i never trust owners like that, too many times have i heard people say oh he’s well trained and i look at their couch and the corners are shredded or he’s super sweet just for him to go hog wild as soon as they let him off leash it’s so irresponsible to not leash around people and animals even as an owner who actually does train my dog well.
this exactly, I'm a horse-back rider and unleashed dogs come up to me all the time. This used to not be an issue as my horse is pretty well behaved, but then one of them bit her. Since then she absolutely hates dogs and will kick them if they get close. So every time I try to yell and warn people, but of course they don't listen, or worse the dog doesn't come to them on command and bounces right for me. And then they have the audacity to get angry when my horse starts to kick? Like keep your animal under control and out of the way of mine and there would have been no issue
Maybe train your dog or keep it away from public places if you can't. You'd be missing some teeth if you kicked my dog after your dog started the fight. Extremely irresponsible and you probably shouldn't own a dog.
It makes sense for the guy to do so. He’s protecting himself. The woman could have easily lied about the entire interaction, it’s always better to be safe.
I'm going to have to rate that Karen interaction up at S-tier, it has exactly everything you need, a racial slur, physical attacks and the good ole "Im calling the cops". Its a whole package deal that you can't be mad with. I’ll even sprinkle in some brownie points for that absolutely incredible drive off she did to truly finish off the performance by also running a red light, risking to physically hurt possibly more than 1 individual to really tune up the ending, great job Karen!
I’m glad that we seem to be reaching a point in understanding that both people in an altercation can be in the wrong instead of being obligated to pick one side
I see a lot of these videos of people screaming about dogs off leashes. Yet everytime all I see is a dog sitting there doing nothing. It's cool to be scared, I guess, but be reasonable. Dog leashes weren't necessary for the majority of our history.
@@Kalmera6238 laws about keeping your dog on a leash aren’t new or anything, what period of history are you referring to? And the leash is for the dogs safety as well. @Im DDaltoN hate to break it to ya but leash laws are usually established through local ordinances. While only two States have statewide leash laws almost all States have laws against “dogs at large” and the majority of areas in the US have local leash laws. To be fair, one of my fears is that i wont remember to film a protentially dangerous interaction. Not because of social media, i dont really use social media. Im afraid that because i didnt record, i wont have evidence in a court of law in case anything happens and that i might be unjestly sentenced for something i didnt do.
Top tip for you, my friend. I literally had a few practice runs with my phone, so I’m sure what button to press, with the fewest possible moves (in case my hands are shaking after a car accident or bomb blast, or something) but it’s like the army in that respect. Drill yourself, so your training will kick in. My phone even sits in certain pockets out of habit, which I know the camera can see clearly from, videoing in front of me. It’s just like a fire drill. If you’ve done it a couple of times, your body knows what to do and has already done it, before you’re even sure yet whether you’re wasting memory yet. Practice makes perfect. ✌️
I love how she's so afraid of the Pitbull that she goes and stands 6 feet in front of it and yells at its owner whilst flailing her arms aggressively 😅
Which is funny bc if you raise pitbulls right, they're one of the gentlest breeds. "Family friendly" breeds like retrievers are more aggressive bc they're hunting breeds and thus are programmed with a prey drive. P.S. I was bitten by a "family friendly" dog. A dalmatian. Never had that issue with a pit.
@@animequeen78it’s not just about ur personal interaction unfortunately pits require an incredible amount of care to be raised right and alot of them are still aggressive that’s just how the breed is unfortunately
The guy handled it just fine. He only started filming to protect himself and his dog. He never responded, never escalated the situation, just stood there in silence and took it like a champ. So I’d have to disagree.
my pitty would just want to be friends.. she sees all beings as friendly.. its kinda lame. I would love to believe she would defend me.. but, I would not bet on it
I used to have my dog off leash all the time.. fantastically trained and all that. I learned very quickly that even if your dog is well trained. Others may not be and that can cause issues. My dog is now on leash at all times unless we are at home or out in the bush. It’s not worth the risk of your dog being injured, another dog being injured or god forbid a child being injured because they pulled on your dogs ears or something. Big ups to your Charlie you’re 100% spot on.
Generally I'm not afraid of dogs, I don't particularly like dogs but they don't bother me and I'm not scared of them. But I was walking my dad's dog one time for him while he was recovering from a hernia surgery and we came across an open garage with a white dog inside that ran out and stood staring at us like he was gonna charge. I called out to the owner to tell him to come get his pet but the dog was so eager that just the sound of me yelling out was enough to make him run at us and try to fight my dad's dog. I had to kick the white dog in the head real quick and then the owner came running out to grab him.
Yeah even beyond other people's dogs being untrained, there are wild animals that don't always behave predictably, and being able to control your dog at all times is essential. And even a perfectly trained dog could have an unknown health issue that causes it to snap. I'm a firm believer in nobody having a pet they can't control when necessary.
if a kid starts harassing a dog and the dog snaps, i don't think a leash helps to prevent that. you can drag the dog away but a dog with a childs face in its maw... uuuh well yeah.
I think one of the main reasons people record these confrontations is also protection. What happens if something bad does happen? Someone gets injured, or killed, or stuff gets destroyed, and you don't have a video? Counter recordings also help provide additional information in those situations too. Like body cams for police, such spontaneous recordings can really only do good.
We all know people only record for the video to go viral In most situations it's better to pit the cameras away and just sort it out 😂can't believe the "oh I'm recording for my safety and what not" take when it's always a situation that doesn't go far. Keep the footage don't upload it you degenerate clout goblin
Yeah, no. If some lady starts yelling at me, I'm recording. I'm a big scary looking dude. I go out of my way to avoid shit like this.. but if some lady was to start yelling at me. I'm recording.
this is true, but when outside or in public buildings, they should always be leashed, unless it’s your backyard or a dog park or other place like that. they are animals, after all, and it’s hard to predict what they will do. when in doubt, just use a leash.
To be fair if I were a medieval peasant and saw this for the first time I would definitely be at least slightly amused. It would be like the local idiots arguing about how one's sheep had eaten the crop of the other but they have magic rectangles
Dog owners having their dogs unleashed don't realize, that even if they can trust their dog to behave, the other people can not. Even if all goes well, and the dog behaves, it still just adds so much nervousness and fear in other people.
Had a pitbull that was the sweetest dog you could have. She would literally get attacked by our neighbors dogs and we had to stop them because she would just lay down and take it rather than fight back. And contrary to popular belief, sometimes dogs and cats get along and she would let our cat lay across her body.
My pittie is the same way. She’s been attacked twice now by a golden lab and a German shepherd and both times laid down and coward. The least aggressive dog I have ever seen in my life
this is untrue, it’s quite fathomable. it’s so fathomable in fact that i watched it in two halves for this exact reason. i also wanted popcorn for act 2 lol
i completely agree with you that dogs should be on a leash at all times in public for their own safety as well as other dogs/humans, but nothing can top the comedic timing of her yelling at him to tie up his dangerous dog and then the camera pans over to the most innocent looking baby sitting in a bed with a sweater on 🤣❤
This shows how uneducated people are about dogs. A dog can be trained to do anything. (Behave in a controlled manner as it did in this video) I have my dog in public off the leash and it walks by my side and pays no attention to anything other than me. If anything that lady needs to be put on a leash in public. The dog didn’t do anything to her. She is provoking it’s owner and still stays calm. Props to the dog. Last thing- the breed of the dog has nothing to do with how aggressive or violent they may be. It’s how you raise them. 🫵
@Reid Palmer Yeah but when I see someone with an unleashed dog outside, that means nothing. I do not know you. I do not know your dog. Even if your dog is responsibly trained, that's a minority of all dogs (Because most owners are irresponsible). Also, you do not know me, or anyone else or anyone else's dog. It's in the best interest for everyone for dogs to be leashed when outside and not in a dog park.
@@nope748 And thats why dog trainig should be mandatory! So you can be sure that the dog you approach is well trained and will just go about his business....
This reminds me of this case where this couple filmed the child being punished and they were using it to show how horrible the child was. It backfired, he lost his job as a deputy and she sent him up to murder her ex-husband that she was about to lose custody to.
similarly...with Leticia Stauch where filmed 'the candle incident' with Ganon(whom she murdered shortly thereafter. But it backfired bc she's being a total bitch towards this poor eleven year old child, and made herself look even more suspicious and guilty.
Should the dog have been leashed? 100%, absolutely yes. Your dog could be the biggest angel, but they still need to be on a leash. That being said, it was still funny seeing him pan over to his fog sitting calmly on his dog bed with his little outfit while she lost her mind.
i find it weird that people think everything should be leashed. but thats probably just me. a lot of animals but growing up with pugs exclusively i only ever had one person in life say it should be on a leash. im really curious what other people think in terms of why every single animal should be on a leash.
@@taylornowa8252 it’s mostly for the safety of the animal and liability. animals are unpredictable, regardless of how well trained they are. this means they can run into danger, be startled and accidentally hurt someone, or get too excited and cause injury. at best, this usually causes minor injuries and forgiveness. at worst, and in a lot of cases, law suits and major injury/death of the animal can result. sure, unleash your dog in a dog park that’s purpose is for that. but not out on the open streets
My dogs are super playful and want to be played with, but I know people are legit scared at the sight of seeing one dog running full speed not knowing their intention..so yeah definitely keep them on the leash
If your dog approaches another person's animal that doesn't want to play and your dog gets hurt, who is going to pay for the vet bill? Sounds like a potential lawsuit that could be avoided by just keeping your friendly dog on a leash. The law in most cities is that you have to walk your dog on a leash.
My aussie is very energetic and friendly. he LOVES other people. it is still common sense to keep him leashed. if he ran at someone and they did not understand dog body language it could end up badly.
@@Slava_Ukraini1991 not only that but if someone's excitable happy pup goes up to a leashed dog that is being trained or might have behavioural issues, the unleashed dog might get attacked by the other dog who feels like it has no way to escape. Off leashed areas exist!
Ive got one of the sweetest dogs ever but I would never let him off of a leash in a public area. He's a pitbull, he can be scary to someone who doesnt know him if he runs up to them to say hi. That and all of the points Charlie already hit in the video.
It’s just common courtesy to keep your dog leashed in public areas. Doesn’t matter how well behaved, it’s done out of respect for others. Both people were in the wrong just for reacting instead of thinking.
Then train your dog. Pitbulls are aggressive because of people breeding them to be that way. I will point fingers, though, as the vast majority of people who use them for violence are minorities. Not saying all minorities can't properly take care of pits, but it's a fact that most can't and won't. "Love" for the animal is always second to their primary, selfish reasons of owning it in the first place.
Pitbulls are a wildcard, no doubt some are chill, but its a huge risk as their strength that they are BRED for is crazy strong, if it snaps damage will be done
There was a dog we took in at the shelter I work at over the summers who was nearly put down because he attacked another dog while on a walk. He wasn’t on a leash. You’d never have guessed it because he’s the sweetest dog normally, even around most dogs but I guess this one particular one just rubbed him the wrong way. All this is to say, it’s not about if the dog likes people. It’s about if the dogs gets along with other dogs. Please, for your dogs sake, leash them up.
Like how many dog owners say "my baby is good dog, he/she never bite me". Yeah, they are being kind to their owner, not to other person or animals (and unknown threats). Responsible owner will care about the safety of their pets and others
@@hafirenggayuda on a small tangent, I love how some dog owners despise cats like they're pure evil... when dogs love to bark at anyone passing by their gate and they have to be monitored and held with a leash because even medium sized dogs can potentially do a lot of damage if they get mad and attack. I just havent heard stories of cats causing someone's death with bites or scratches, most of the time they just run away. Ive seen videos of unleashed pitbulls attacking kids and elders in their neighborhood and heard a story of guard dogs, a dobermann and a german shepherd, murdering and partially eating a kid. Overall, dogs are nerfed wolves, please be responsible and don't let your affections and biased trust cost others' safety and even lives, dear owners.
What sucks is my dog acts COMPLETELY different around dogs when he's not on a leash. When he's on a leash he's aggressive when meeting another dog when he's not on a leash he's absolutely fine. He's a chihuahua rat terrier btw
Yeah because they are animals just like us. There isnt a law to leash kids or humans even though they are far more agreesive and dangerous. Being a coward shouldnt be the standard laws are made

I appreciate that you always said '" in public" about the dog leash. My dogs really love running free in large empty fields, but no one else is remotely close and we have the leashes just in case
I think if anyone advocated for "always" having a dog on the leash, even out in forests or the like, it would be akin to animal abuse. Dogs need to run!
If it's just his business and only his parking lot there I'd say he should be able to have his dog there if supervised and the owner is outside. I agree with charlie here though with the bed being out there, if he's just chilling not even walking around much, I doubt it'd hurt to have a leash for extra safety. Even if he's trained the perceived safety to customers coming in will be higher if he's on a leash.
People gotta realize its not about your dog being too wild, you can have the most welll behaved dog known to man, you still gotta put it on a leash for your own dogs safety, cuz if another dog runs up to your dog and it reacts or your dog goes to greet someone excitedly and they shoot it or whatever, like there's some seriously unhinged people walking around and you gotta keep a hold on your dog regardless of behavior or aggression of the dog
I would love to see a documentary that follows up on some of these people years later to see how it impacted their lives and if they show any regret or remorse.
I would expect that these people don't have the self-awareness or intelligence to ever change their behaviour, just NPCs living out their basic coding.
I raised my dog to be around all kinds of people and environments, he’s gentle with babies, kids and other animals. He doesn’t need a leash…. But he always have it because as much as I trust him, he is still an animal, and they have their moments, also I distrust people, so why would I put him at risk by not having him on a leash?
The main thing for me is I had an Alaskan malamute for a few years and people think cause their dogs are friendly with others that everyone else’s must be. She is t. She was a rescue and she was very very bad with other animals. But this guy in my area would walk his dogs without a leash and they would come over and I straight up had to lay on my dog and hold her snout to keep her from going off. While the dude just kept walking on his phone. My dog could be put down for hurting your dogs…. You walking your dogs without a leash puts my dog in harms way even if yours are friendly.
100% same. I love walking my dog off-leash and she's super well behaved. But I only do it in safe situations where there's no one around, no other dogs, no kids, no cars/traffic, etc. The rest of the time she's on a leash, mostly because I don't trust other people and their dogs. A lot of dog owners are responsible and nice, but there's also a good many that don't bother to train their dog at all or think that their dog being aggressive is just "playing" or "saying hi," and a leash is necessary to get my dog out of those situations fast.
I mean however you raise your dog its still a dog with animal instincts. Squirrel across the road? That boy is crossing the street before you can look both ways
I think it's kinda annoying how dog owners think they can just not take responsibility for their pet by putting them on a leash or training them because "they're friendly." I almost gotten bit by a big dog who's usually very sweet because another dog made him nervous and confused. It happens, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
I assume she peeled out because she realized after hitting him that she had to drive away fast enough to erase the plate number from his phone to avoid going to prison. The logical conclusion.
I worked in the post office for 5 years and I would definitely say it’s dangerous to have a dog with no leash, but this lady is a different kinda special.
I once saw an unleashed dog get ran over right in front of my house - the owners were casually walking their dog when it dipped into the street for a second and boom. The dog did not survive unfortunately and it was pretty traumatic
Even if someone needs someone else to correct them, there's never a reason to behave this irrationally. In fact, when you blow things way out of proportion like this, you end up taking steps back. When people look at you, they're not going to see the point you're making--they're only going to think about how loud you're screaming, and they're going to think you're an insane, unhinged lunatic. They're going to view _you_ as the "bad guy" and the _other person_ as the "good guy", no matter what it is they did. So by screaming this loud, all this woman did was make people feel sorry for the guy and his dog. It's true that the guy should leash his dog. *But when you treat someone like garbage, you have no right to criticize them for how their actions might affect others, because you clearly don't understand that yourself.* You're just making the other person look better by comparison and thus drawing attention _away_ from the point you're trying to make.
Exactly this. For another example, this is exactly why those hardcore “you’re killing animals you horrible monster!” vegans make no meaningful difference aside from making people hate vegans. The party that is trying to change things can’t be the loud, screaming, in-your-face-asshole party because it drives people away from them and therefore away from the point they want to make.
Dog is an American Staffordshire terrier. Pretty much a cousin to the American pit bull terrier (can be bred for hunting and fighting, sure, but staffys tend to be more show dogs but can still have a prey drive if not trained), if not the same breed depending on pedigree. and backyard breeders. They’re usually hyper when younger. This one’s pretty chill, great obedience training and probably around 3 or 4 years old. Meaning he or she’s just about at that mature age
@@moimoiyoop you’re not entirely wrong. Game bred Apbts were indeed bred to fight and hunt small prey like rodents. True pits are too animal aggressive to hunt with packs (bullys are not pit bulls, like Hulk from ddk is not a pit) “Game” is a trait that if you hear, you keep your animal away from that pit. It’s not that they’re bred to bite and never let go (it would depend on the individual specimen), because that would apply to all catch dogs like hunting mastiffs and terriers etc. No, they were bred to fight beyond pain and exhaustion. Depending on the bloodline, depending on the pedigree, a game bred pit bull terrier would never just bite and let go, but thrash whatever is in its jaws psychotically. “Game” is a trait very very specific to only pit bulls, where they’re can fight with there guts hanging and broken bones and they wouldn’t notice until they’re stitched up the next day. And still smile. Some mastiff breeds come close, for example Presa Canarios and Dogo argentinos (both could kill a pit bull I’ll admit but would have life changing injuries), but they’re too coordinated and have less of a chance to be as aggressive as a game bred pit. Not saying they can’t be aggressive, but pits with champ lines are not to be messed with even if they’re smaller dogs. Modern day game pits do have better hunting capabilities, bc old school pits are too animal aggressive to work with packs. But again depends on pedigree and the specimen. The dog in the video is an amstaff. It’s a myth that they were “nanny” dogs, that mostly refers to older generations of staffies and/or bandogs (pits with mastiff mixed).
@@moimoiyoop also, to make it clear… yes keep pit bulls away from animals and children unless you’ve known that animal your since birth. Sorry didn’t make it clear my last comment was long enough. I’ve owned rescued pits and they do tend to be volatile and less friendly. I’ve owned game pit since birth and will show signs of animal aggression, however that’s how I want them since I live in land and don’t take her to dog parks lol I will say, 9 times out of 10 when I see a pit bull attack a child… it’s not a real pit. It’s either a bandog (mastiff mix) or a bully (generations of pits/staffies mixed with bull dogs) Edit: Pit bulls are my passion. Had quite a few for 30 years. Like I said from rescues to actual champion bloodlines (like my current baby). Roughly 5 I’ve owned my whole only 1 I had to take to back to the shelter. He probably got put down. 2 I owned since birth and they were the best with children, better than my dogo argentino mix. Also have family in Puerto Rico who fight dogs (I live in Texas) so I know a thing or two about the fights especially in Louisiana. Read a lot of books as a kid as well
The stigma and misinformation around pitbulls is heartbreaking. They're truly one of the sweetest and most gentle breeds and terrible people like dog fighters have given them a bad reputation. Smaller breeds are actually some of the most vicious
Im so glad you mentioned that dog ownership requires responsibility and that leash laws should be respected. I train dogs as a hobby and hearing you say that made my day because I deal with COUNTLESS unleashed dogs on the reg. Its absolutely stupid and ridiculous!
EXACTLY!!! also i feel like the majority of times when there is an incident of dogs running into active traffic its a dog where the owner would swear "its well trained, the recall is solid, we go offleash everyhwere any nothing ever happened" well untill it does happen because no matter how solid the training is, a dog is still an animal and can react on instinct. better safe that sorry :/ i could never imagine risking my dogs life because i dont like leashes or what ridiculous reason some people come up with
If you work with dogs you also know that most well raised dogs would never hurt anyone. I've had thousands of interactions with dogs without leashes and 0 problem. Where I live, peope only leash dogs that are agressive.
What's completely bonkers to me is that sometimes leashing dogs still doesn't stop them. My neighbor's collie got disemboweled by a pitbull. Thing attacked its owner, jumped a fence, and went ham. Yeah, instead of running off emotions she could have run off facts because I'm betting there's a local law requiring all dogs to be leashed. It's something I bring up especially when there's a large dog off leash since it could easily kill my small dog with one bite.
@@haroldfarthington7492 Doesn't matter. They could be the best pupper on the planet. It doesn't change anything. All it takes is one mistake. It's not even always about protecting people or other dogs from your dog. Sometimes it's about protecting your dog from strangers or strange dogs.
Fr. It doesn't matter how well-trained your dog is. It only takes one moment for someone/another dog to be hurt by that dog, or that dog to be hurt by someone/another dog. A leash can help prevent either case.
That's an ignorant take. I live near a park where people always walk their dogs without a leash in a densely populated area. Over the last 20+ years, I've probably had more than 50 000 interactions(20 years, 365 days a year, twice a day and I meet 5+ dogs on average) with dogs without leashes, never had any problem. Dogs have personnalities and most aren't erratic. The dogs on leashes are the ones that are dangerous because a normally raised dog doesn't need one.
@@snowlaceon If you noticed I'm in multiple comments you're also in every comment. Also I have a long experience with dogs, both professionnal and personnal and I feeld like there is a gross mischaracterization at play.
@@ildarion3367 I love how your numbers change with every comment 🤣 Animals are animals. They have certain instincts in their DNA. Just like no matter how much you train a bear, anything can trigger it & have it bite a hole in your neck (which literally happened during a video recording years ago where a person died,) a dog can be triggered as well. There's also incidents like the Siegfried & Roy mauling as well as countless other cases of zookeepers having their lives taken by the animals they cared for.
The guy’s not in the wrong, but he’s not in the right. In the argument, he’s fully in the right, only because of how trashy the woman was. But if she actually acted like an adult, the guy should’ve put his dog on a leash. I get why people don’t, but when in a public area like that, it’s better for the safety of both the dog and others, as well as preventing idiots like this to come out, or at least getting rid of an actual reason for them to get mad.
I remember a time a woman yelled at me while recording me when I was younger, and my mom walked over and said something to her that literally made her drop her phone in fear. I still ponder what she said to this day.
What charlie didn't mention about the danger of dogs not on a leach in public is how the dog could be nice and friendly but will run up to another dog who isn't friendly that will fight with them, rather in aggression or for being over protective over their owner. My old dog was super nice to strangers and dogs when we went out to dog parks (as long as he wasn't at my mom's feet and no dogs ran up to her) But one time when we were eating out one day and had him on the leach a smaller unleashed dog ran up to us to say hi and got pinned was bleeding from a bite wound. Lucky it was just his ear and we pulled him off of them and they ran back but he could have killed that dog
exactly this, my dog would never hurt a person, but if another dog is off the leash and comes up to her, she takes it as a threat and turns into a guard dog.
, yeah, also how the dog could attack a SERVICE dog too. it happens a lot more than you think, theres even compilations of people with service dogs having normal dogs try to interupt their working dog or even attack them. its crazy.
My dog is a super anxious chihuahua mix. He's very barky and has no sense of relative size. Chihuahuas are straight up homicidal lunatics TBH. Yeah, my dog can't hurt a bull terrier, but if he aggravated one into biting him, that would be 100% on me. Leashes protect everybody.
Yep. Every damn neighbor I've seen walking without a leash, I am sure to tell them that I know of dogs in the nieghborhood that are reactive to other dogs approaching them. The owners of the reactive dogs ALWAYS have their dogs leashed and actively keep an eye out for unleashed dogs or things that could bother their dog. The reaction I get from the non-leashed dog ownsers is always the same: "Well thanks for letting me know, but my dog doesn't run up to strangers and listens to me."
100% agree on both ends. She’s in the wrong with how she reacted (like a POS), but leash your dog. It could be 3 lbs, but it’s about the entire picture. My pup has been through ridiculous levels of training, but I would never do that considering you don’t know the other people or dogs around you.
The dog didn't attack anyone, yet the lady did. Not much use telling people to take precautions against violence when you yourself are going to cause violence.
@@billbill6094 100% agree. Doesn’t make since when she’s more of a threat. If anything, I would think a leash would help the owner protect his dog from psychos like her honestly.
@@billbill6094 Did you read their comment? They said she’s obviously in the wrong. That doesn’t change the fact that dogs should always be leashed in public spaces like this. It isn’t just for other people’s safety, it’s for the dog’s safety too. Dogs aren’t perfect. There is always a possibility that something will be enticing/stimulating enough to make them forget their training. I’ve seen dogs chase a squirrel into traffic before. It’s not pretty and it’s not safe. And if someone else with a reactive dog walks by (on a leash) and your unleashed dog gets too close because it wants to make friends, that can easily turn dangerous. The owners will have a much harder time safely keeping their dogs separated if one of the dogs isn’t harnessed/leashed. Also, people have dog phobias, especially of bigger dogs (like pit bulls), and they deserve to feel safe and not have an unleashed dog they don’t know running up to them, even if it’s friendly. Dogs are animals. They are smart and often obedient, but there’s always a chance that they won’t listen and it will result in harm to them or others. In the US, leashes are required in most public spaces for good reason. They’re laws that were created due to accidents with off leash dogs that caused injury and even death.
@@princessaria did you read mine? The point is you cannot pretend to be concerned with public safety _and_ be a threat to it at once. Full stop. It isn't contradictory to the top comment at all, I'm not reading an essay that fabricates a different thesis here.

When it finally tired itself out and I grabbed it, the owner kept apologizing saying that it never did that before. I just told her thats what leashes and collars are for
I appreciate your take on dogs being off leash. I have the smallest cutest and friendliest pug puppy but I know to keep his ass on a leash because he could run up to a non-friendly leashed dog and get hurt. Not to mention the concern of him running into the road. Plus some people have big time trauma with dogs and if your do runs up to them that could be a major issue.
I completely agree with the keep dog on the lead unless it's a zone for unleashed dogs. I always adopt my dogs which means they come with issues a lot of the time. And don't tend to be good with other dogs. The amount times I walk my dog leashed and someone's dog runs up to mine, im having to shout to owner she isn't good with dogs, which the other owner is never in a rush to help is unbelievable. And they can never call their dog back. I always get the same excuse "they normally come back when called" 🤦♀️ dogs are unpredictable. It happens so much I have to walk my dogs in areas that people will be forced to have their dogs on a lead, as my dog gets to stressed or anxious with dogs coming to her. My pup was kept in a cage for 16 hours a day and never socialized as she was a lockdown dog. Apparently when she did see another dog she had bad experience.
@@Green_Eyed_Monster im glad you and your dads dog were ok
Yeah even beyond other people's dogs being untrained, there are wild animals that don't always behave predictably, and being able to control your dog at all times is essential. And even a perfectly trained dog could have an unknown health issue that causes it to snap. I'm a firm believer in nobody having a pet they can't control when necessary.

But he always have it because as much as I trust him, he is still an animal, and they have their moments, also I distrust people, so why would I put him at risk by not having him on a leash?
Leashes also allow you to be able to pull him out of danger if something happens.
Found the problem

@@moimoiyoop me when I spread misinformation online 😆
@@moimoiyoop you’re not entirely wrong. Game bred Apbts were indeed bred to fight and hunt small prey like rodents. True pits are too animal aggressive to hunt with packs (bullys are not pit bulls, like Hulk from ddk is not a pit)
“Game” is a trait that if you hear, you keep your animal away from that pit.
I’ve owned game pit since birth and will show signs of animal aggression, however that’s how I want them since I live in land and don’t take her to dog parks lol
I will say, 9 times out of 10 when I see a pit bull attack a child… it’s not a real pit. It’s either a bandog (mastiff mix) or a bully (generations of pits/staffies mixed with bull dogs)
Edit: Pit bulls are my passion.

Right it’s tiktok 😂 grow up
We gotta go back to the 60s when a good beating fixed any woman. Those were the times...
@WingsOfLiquidChili pretty much this. TikTok simply reinforces the mentality.
@@dmcentYT You are defending tiktok lol. Who needs to grow up?
Well. she is right. They should leash their dog.
I still ponder what she said to this day.
that sounds so awesome holy shit
You should ask your mom what she said, maybe we could use it some day 🤣
Ask her! Don’t leave us hanging! 😂
she was probably unhinged
Uhmm sounds like a possible human trafficking moment
He did said that lol
That’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever seen he’s just chilling in his bed with his little jacket 🥺
Or her* great dog doesn't change the law
5:41 "he moved her hand away"
That's the definition of defending youself,if person's hand goes into your face...
@@shaunriordan493a leash also helps protect them from bad dog owners. I don’t take my dogs out because they were attacked by another dog and will always react with aggression, but if I were to give fewer shits and take them in public and an unleashed dog approached us, more than one person/dog is getting hurt. Hence why I keep them home 🤷🏼♀️
As a Native American / Mexican I always laugh when someone drops the "Go back to your country line." Like, bitch I already am!
After all, Mexicans are just white people with more native genes than the average white American (who usualyl still have some native, but not alot)
People are stupid.
Yeah it’s weird when People in the USA say that to each other. What do they even mean with that? Back to Europe or what?😂
@Dlaila FOR REALLLL, white Americans act like they were here first and pretend like they didn't take this land away from the Native Americans 💀 they should take their own advice and go back to Europe
they should start saying get back to your state. like to sioux something like go back to minnesota!
(sure it would be incredibly offensive, it's not like they wanted to migrate but enough so to be funny)
@@girlofthealpines in the end nobody is a native except for the first humans lol
It’s not just about if the unleashed dog is dog and human friendly its also about if other dogs are dog aggressive
we know nothing about this dog at all
@@RaphaelAmbrosiusCosteau yea everyone keeps bringing up points that have absolutely no backbone to them the dog is literally just chilling there its not even barking at the person getting angry with its owner
@@RaphaelAmbrosiusCosteau So everyone should just assume your dog is trained? Furthermore, we also have to assume the dog is trained to the extent you mention. Your remark about the behavior of trained dogs (which I don't believe is true, as most people do, but that's beside the point) is pointless, because it puts the burden on the people around you, not on you, the dog owner. It effectively removes the feasibility of any rule enforcing leashes, since anyone can claim their dog is trained and well-behaved (and they often do, which is why dog owners are so insufferable).
@@RaphaelAmbrosiusCosteau It's a good and responsible thing to do, but that, we can only hope. Because there's still gonna be some idiots out there who don't know how to train and handle their pets. And with that, fear of dogs are still a thing.
@@Aaaaaaa1231_ This dog is clearly well trained. No one is gonna assume every dog is but if I can walk up and see the dog isn't doing anything then I'm not gonna freak out like a retard.
Couldn’t say it any better Charlie, and I do agree with you about dogs on a leash. I’m terrified of dogs, especially big dogs and hate it when dogs run up to me, and stupid owners shout ‘ he won’t hurt ya’! No, but he’s just scared me shitless whilst minding my own business, thanks for that! ❤

I actually had to chase a little dog that got loose from its owner a few months ago while at work because she didn't put a leash on it. When it finally tired itself out and I grabbed it, the owner kept apologizing saying that it never did that before. I just told her thats what leashes and collars are for
Bro turned the camera and shows one of the sweetest dogs I’ve seen in my life just sitting there
Sometimes I think I'm dumb then I see stuff like this and realize I'm not so bad.

And since then she just can't handle them being close to her at all. A lot irresponsible dog owners assume others dogs are exactly same as theirs. However I never react like this lady I just get out of their asap 😂
In my state, if your dog isn't on leash and hurts someone expect to get completely ruined in court.
