I relate to so much of what you shared here. The cycle of lack of self control and self sabotage is so tough to break. Love the game and reached Masters but trying to find a balance of being able to play but not let it control my time and emotions. Best of luck to us😭
i like the philosophical concept of League of Legends. I think thats why i enjoy the game so much. So much complexity can emerge from simple rules. There's one simple question, what team will destroy the nexus first? There's only 1 of 2 outcomes of every game, but more possibilities than there are atoms in the universe in a single frame. How do you win games? Stick to fundamentals and wait for the enemy to make a mistake, most people who played for a while say, and I think thats correct. So much complexity can emerge from simple rules. It's pretty much impossible to really predict the outcome of any one action. Enemy draws first blood top lane level 1? maybe this makes jungle path top, then your jungle doesnt get counterganked in a level 3 gank bot, but then enemy jg invades, but then 0 1 0 darius kills him in your own jg and your jg invades his bot. Chaos theory. Every tiny action has a massive domino effect, even a single mouse click could sway the entire final outcome. i think it's really beautiful. That's why i agree with what you said, that you cant get too attached to the outcome, i dont think theres any way to actually predict what will really happen no matter how good you are. i merely admire the complexity of it all, and revel in the fact that i get to be apart of it. ive only been playing for 4 years but i randomly got diamond lll 99 lp with full crit viego one time on my main account. i hope to get back to that elo again and maybe even masters on my main account, but im enlisting in the air force soon because im a NEET so that will probably be way many years later down the line ):
what a beautiful breakdown of how this game is! I think your perspective is very valuable for anyone who is addicted to this game. You are a very intelligent person and possibly also with a very clear mind. Only when you approach the game in this manner then you will see it as what it is and enjoy while not malding. :D It makes me want to get back to it but with with eyes and challenge myself to be better because there’s for sure a correlation of someone’s high rank and their intelligence. Good luck to your career and thank you for commenting!
its all about knowing which is bad for you and which is good for you. some addictions can be good because they help you handle life and others have lots more of consequences, but they dont even feel good to indulge in. its not about the game itself. when it comes to addictions its good to practice harm-reduction and find the addictions with less consequences that help you handle life. some people just need to be addicted. i used to be addicted to the game, but now i just play it because i want to handle life as just watching my body with no activity just kind of feel pointless
I feel like I should have made videos long time ago to read comments like these because it seems like many people are with a much clearer mind and it would have been so helpful 😭
Thank you for sharing your story! I can totally relate and the amount of damage digital media has done to my mental health and development during puberty is enormous. Sounds like you are growing deeper in consciousness I too have definitely struggled. What did help me was playing norms and having fun with different builds. In the past 6-7 hours would go by and because I’m good at things I put my energy into I was locked in the same way. Now I’m able to play for a couple hours. Nowadays people have so much of a meta brain that everything is so competitive and toxic. Just have fun doing random things. And thank you too. Your video is definitely more encouraging to others than you know

Hey fellow addict! We see functional but if we took a wrong step then it’s worse so let’s check in with ourselves how do we feel every day and make small changes 🤝 we can do this!!
I relate to this. Started playing in 2013 and was very addicted by 2015. I honestly just made it a goal to hit to D4 every game and then play ARAM with friends after that. I find it rlly fun to just hit d4 and then quit unless my friends ask me to play ARAM ☻ I find it fun that way but idk maybe its different because it takes me like 10-20 games to hit D4 nowadays
Thanks for sharing, nice video and I can relate. The one thing I don’t get is, how is it that after all these years you find the game still enyojable? So many new characters have been thrown into it that I’d think the dynamics are now just too complex and hard to mentally compute. The number of moves and characters that you need to memorize to play well is much larger, and so is the time needed to spend playing to achieve a certain performance level at the game. That makes it also harder to master exhaustivelly; to understand the dynamics and strategies for at least most other characters. How do you deal with that? Do you have the same enjoyment playing as, say, 10 years ago?
because I took a break and started playing recently again and I see the game changed for the better I hope I will get bored soon haha at least I’m ok with me getting to gold and then stop because the reward won’t get better if you get higher
@@yappykaki just curious, then why in your opinion has the game changed for the better? Gold is a good landmark to stop indeed. You can still tell you achieved diamond at some point. That’s awesome.
I recently had a bout like this, and gosh golly did it almost ruin my life. Trying to rank up is so stressful aswell.
