There always was real scary in Reece. Doing the job he did and all. But Harold being THIS dark.... Truly, truly boogeyman style scary. The things dark Harold is capable of, that is unimaginable. And for me, like a Shakespearean tragedy. Having known the character for 5 seasons and having gotten to know him as caring, kind and a moral pillar. The best scene in this show. And the best acting.

@@jennysmit6150 Takes the best or rather a very good man to become the most corrupted and violent, and dangerous. Afterall, good and evil, are both sides of the same coin, and morality, is subjective. If you ever notice, all the goody goody boy scouts, all have a dark side to them that they hardly ever show. They try to do what's right because of what's possible if they were ever to go over the edge. They have seen the worse, and they also know the best that could be done or achieved. Being good at heart and deep down, they want to do and offer their best. However they are still only human. And they are only a flipside away from also being the and or capable of the, worst/worse. Superman is another good example of this, aside from Harold Finch.

Definitely more chilling. W.W was on a downward spiral of morality from episode 1. The show is called breaking bad, it's all about that spiral. Finch on the other hand was uncompromising with his morals. The only time he faltered was when his wife was in danger but even then he morals remained uncompromised. He refused to bend even when options were limited and it cost them dearly. it took 4 and half seasons, the knowledge he did this to himself, and the loss of some of his closest friends to finally push him over the edge.

Wow... Finch is scary when he means it. All that rage & saddness have risen to the surface. At that moment when he said "I'm done playing by my rules!" I think Samaritan in an instant while observing Finch telling him all this felt something he never felt before... "Fear". O_o;' he's awakened the monster within him to finally unleash the power of a god!

What a great speech to finally tell us why Harold has those rules. Only a kid who grew up during Nixon's presidency will know the corrosive nature of power in the hands of anyone.
Will never not be bitter that Michael Emerson was snubbed at the Emmys for his work in the final season of Person of Interest. What we see here is just a snapshot of how amazing he was in the final home run.

This is literally the best speech in all tv shows. Meaning behind it was developed from the very first episode. From first season we could see that rules were his thing.
Low voice tone and delivery were astonishing. His expressions were spot on. For example 1:09 we can easily see that Harold honestly believed those rules. That alone is extremely rare in tv shows or even good movies. But when you add all that together, you get bet speech that exists in tv shows.

This scene, Harold telling Samaritan that the gloves are off, put a lump in my throat. It reminded me that Harold was the most dangerous one of the entire show. John was the muscle and hands of the machine, Same with Shaw, doing what the machine could not, to help people. Root was the voice of the machine. But Harold, had he wanted, could have installed himself as a god on Earth using the machine. He was his own arbiter of right and wrong and took great pains to make sure he did right. We saw a glimpse of what the gloves off looks like when before trading himself for Grace, on her doorstep, what he told John and Shaw. Great scene, great show!
