He asked them something that wasnt on their innocent script, so they all said something different. Thats how he knew they are all working together. I love these little details. I wonder if there is someone who broke down all the scenes in the mentalist like i tried here. Would love to read it all.
I love how throughout the entire series Cho gives increasingly less of a fuck about Jane’s antics and just goes with them.
Plus the guy at the beginning complaining how they were waiting for 2 hours.
I don't mind talking to you about it
it's a proper detective show. if you pay attention you can follow his thought processes
So strange that the exact reason he's dead wouldn't be the first thing they cover.
One of the best detective shows out there. A good balance between the gruesome nature of the crimes and the comedic elements, with some really hard-rending moments. I've been binging Nordic Noir and enjoying the shows but they leave me depressed like hell . I miss a show like this.
you should watch Psych, Castle, or Bones, they are all very similar to the mentalist

Jane was so focused on getting to Lisbon that he straight up hate-solved that second crime, because their murder was slowing him down.

Really, murder investigations here in Brasil are a mess...
That would actually be a great idea for like a CSI parody.
Every episode has like 4 minutes of Exposition, the obligatory intro song containing pictures of people and explosions layered above each other in quick succession and after 5 minutes have passed, the case is solved. Roll credits xD
Criminal Minds solve killer mysteries because of the pattern of its serial victims. It takes time.
Monk solve cases based on OCD pattern. Stupid but clever and rarely spoken. \
Patrick Jane solve cases based on MAGIC. Hence, Cheating. ._.)/\(._.
@@generalerica4123bruh
He is amazing! I like how Cho is serene/ very chill when Patrick is solving the case.
It's more a combination of resigned acceptance and suppressed admiration. He admires how good Jane is but hates how little it goes by the book, but also knows that there's absolutely nothing he can do so he just... Lets it happen. It gets results after all
He bet against him once and lost. After that, hes a very staunch support of Jane. Hes like 95% sure whatever Jane says should be considered right.
Fastest solve goes to Monk though. In the episode where he was obsessed about his shirts (S04E11 or something) it took him 5 seconds.
Officer: “Wife says she found her husband’s body coming home from cello lessons.”
Monk: “She’s lying. No way she can play cello in that skirt.”

Wish they would reboot this series somehow, maybe with a spinoff of someone under Patrick's wing, assuming he retires, with just a few episodes where either he solves cases again or they show flashbacks of him working the earlier cases that came before S1E1 chronologically.
Will be here in 2021
Been searching for another series as good as this..nope.. nothing like this.. ever ..
The season 2 opener in this video will always be my favorite because it works so well. The comedy, Jane's fast abilities, and how everything just escalates. Perfectly done!
Also loved how Jane was so quick to solve the second one because he was so anxious to speak with Lisbon and then try to win her over as we see throughout the episode. The scene itself harks back to Jane's fast abilities to get things done and has a type of comedic appeal that works for the dark setting.

when i was watching this show, i was hoping they makes a parody of CSI. a scene while Lisbon and the others brushed off some finger prints and collecting evidence then Jane walks in like Horatio solve the case on the spot, put on his sunglasses and walks off towards the sunset. perfect.
CSI is so bad I can't watch it. People rarely, very, very, very rarely get caught based on evidence. They all tell on themselves. Dumbest thing ever. If you do something wrong, shut up and ask for your lawyer. Simple and yet it never happens. All of these people should have asked for a lawyer and then remained silent. No case.

There was another fast case, in the beginning of the 6th season maybe in the 1st episode. I don't remember exactly, but the ending was the killer pointed a gun at Jane, but he replaced the bullets with pesanuts😂😂

I miss The Mentalist. Lately, RUclips has been suggesting videos from this series and this just makes me want to re-watch it!
There were a lot of things I hated about the last two seasons, not the least of which is the baffling lack of grumblings about Californians in every situation the way Scooby-doo villains always complain about meddling kids. Goes to show you the writers have never been to Texas, or they would have KNOWN. But one thing I do appreciate is that Cho doesn't even look surprised when Jane completely ignores the very serious matter at hand to chat about Lisbon and just answers his questions honestly. Cho knows how Jane works, and Jane's not going to do anything he doesn't want to do, and if he doesn't want to solve crime until he's finished asking questions, well, he's not going to, and Cho just rolls with it. Honestly, I expect Cho adjusted the easiest to life in Texas.
Cho was definitely one of the best characters on the entire show, except for whatever travesty they injected with his relationship with Summer. You can tell they were going to inject Summer seriously into the show because at first she was competent, sassy, and self-assured, and most importantly, the other characters in the show liked her. As soon as it became apparent she wasn't a hit, they turned her into an idiotic train wreck junkie and everyone was questioning Cho's common sense. Awful way to handle that story beat, everything else about Cho worked.
How would they know they're Californians?
@@gustavolopes5094 We Texans know.
@@chrisstephens6022I also heard there's some kind of contract dispute or something, which make the story discontinued. But I'm glad it actually not work, Cho don't need such thing

The way he smiles 👍🏻👌🏻🤩
I loved this show soooo much thanks for reminding me to watch it again
Imagine what those kids would have been thinking. "... Wait, I thought police psychics were just on tv."
After watching the whole series I realise how often he says "Oh I got nothing ;)" which sometimes means he doesn't care but more often means he knows but he's purposefully gonna drag out the case to create scenarios where more information is revealed, more proof can be gathered, and catch the killer in a situation where they can only be found guilty.
When he's fast it's messy and chaotic, or with the last one those kids have a lot stacked against them but it's still up for jury or confession. In a full episode he would've played them in a way to make them out themselves in the end.
Best series all time
God, how I miss that show. They’ve rebooted every other show under the Sun, why not this one?!
If lisbon and patrick were assigned to the BROADCHURCH's case, the crime would have been solved in less than 1 episode with much more impressive mood. LOL!!!
I love this show so much!
The second one with the students, I think they could get off with self defense. Maybe man slaughter.
Tyler assaulted two of them - nearly choked one to death, smashed up the room. He was stabbed, shallow, in the back so that he would stop, only to chase that girl to try and beat her ass. So when he fell in the pool it was their golden ticket.
Tyler made each of them fear for their lives when he flipped out. The cops definitely wouldn’t have gotten there fast enough. And if any of them ran, Tyler would have caught one and finished what he started. Odds are the guy he choked out.
So manslaughter because they wanted to stop him. Not sure if it was established that they meant to kill him. They just wanted him to stop.
True, but then they added lying to the police and conspiracy.
you do know that once they tried to hide it ...then its no longer a self defense
Thing is they don't really have any evidence to back up Jane's version of events.
@@slimaneazouzi970that actually isn't true. It does make a jury much less likely to believe they acted in self defense, but the cover up is a different crime than murder. They could be charged with obstruction and for lying to a police officer, but that is unrelated to the homicide.
Basically, to use self defense or defense of others, you (and a hypothetical "reasonable person" in the same situation) must believe the now dead attacker intended to kill or inflict serious bodily harm. The events afterwards are unrelated, and don't change whether or not they're guilty of murder/homicide.
My all time favorite show!
Give him a cane and 10 yrs of med school, you get house
Interesting how Jane suffered a bigger emotional trauma than House.
Yet House is much more affected by his leg, almost incurable.
Jane seemed to have a breakdown then recover as a better man and go for revenge
I don't know why, I just like this vid. Characters are all well-played, and how "Jane" explains how he solved the two crimes is just fun. (Tho I don't recall seeing a vodka bottle in the wastebasket.)
And that my children is why we all searched for this in the 1st place

It's always the butler.
Best show ever.

I miss this series, one of the best.
There R actually two more cases solved in under five minutes that aren't in this vid. The first one is in the pilot episode, where Morgan Tolliver (the very first killer in the entire series) killed his own daughter (forgot her name) because she stood up 2 him 4 raping her, & was subsequently murdered himself by his wife Juniper in a justified act of retribution. The second one is in the season six premiere episode, "The Desert Rose", where a famous baseball player named Cody Benbow (the very first killer in the sixth season) killed his own fiancee, Sandra Helvig, 4 trying 2 leave him 4 an unknown reason (most likely, one of them was cheating on the other one, or maybe it was both, who knows). Patrick slipped peanuts in his gun's chamber, so that he'd B easy pickings 4 the Sac PD, only 4 Benbow 2 pull out a second gun he had concealed in his pants pocket & shoot one of the cops (he survived, though), & then he was riddled w/ bullets & killed on the spot by the other cops; another justified act IMO.

Hey, hope you see this even though it’s 5 months late. I would look up Paul Ekman and read some of his books - he is a psychologist who has spent his career studying facial expressions and emotions. His work inspired the TV series Lie to me, which is definitely worth a go too if you like the Mentalist (and the idea of lie detection). Paul Ekman has been criticised for not testing his theories on micro expressions thoroughly enough but it’s still really interesting and there seems to be a lot of truth to it. Good luck!
