My family has watched this show through multiple times. Whenever Cho breaks the icy stare, we would all look at each other and say with a grin "Cho smiles"
Just the fact that Jane could walk into anyone's house/apartment and find a cup, find tea, brew it and drink, was just blown up! Even in a murderer's place. I was so amazed. But my favorite part was when Lisbon fixed his one and only cup after it had been accidentally broken. My heart. 🥰
@@Im-kj same,I just finished rewatching it,but I have quite few when I am sad and I always rewatching the same shows like Mentalist and Bones are must for me and I watched them 100 times and now I am watching Fringe and sometimes I am in the mood for something like Veronica Mars, Chuck, Hart of Dixe,Shadowhunters those are mine go too shows when I'm feeling down
@@Alona2811 Oh, wow! I watched all of them more than I count! Fringe was a really good one! Chuck is above all! This is the first time someone mentioned shows I love!
I always loved how whenever he got slapped or punched, in most cases he kinda deserved it. I saw a movie once where one of the main characters said some really horrible things to a bully that was already going to beat him up. When asked why he made things worse the kid said, 'If I'm gunna get a beating I like to deserve it.' Can't remember what thats from but it stuck with me.
*This is The Most Underrated series in history.* The way Jane would solve a case in just 1 episode was complex & brilliant enough to be an entire 2hr long movie. *Especially seasons 1-3* 🧠
00:30 It's a great moment, Jane realizing Cho has untapped skill and potential at doing what Jane can do, and he makes it seem effortless. Cho surprised Jane, and Jane is enjoying it.
I loved this show in its early years. Season 6 and 7 kinda were downhill for me, even though Jane and Lisbon got together, and I had always shipped them, they did it kinda of more abruptly then I liked. Like it seemed like they were JUST getting them together to keep viewers. Also the Red John storyline ending the way that it did? The show just deserved a better last couple seasons, in my opinion.
I like the post Red John era, but I get your point. I think they dragged that plot for too long, which kept them from exploring other storylines. The ending of season 3 is way more satisfying than the actual resolution we got for Red John in season 6.
@@nayvids I get what you’re saying but I actually think they wrapped it (RJ) up really well. S3 and S4 ending the way they did was RJ showing Jane that he has the advantage and is toying with him. With the end of S5, with the info that Martins gave Jane, RJ knows he has to do something and so “reopens” the game. So, Jane knows he has to be careful and cover his bases for S6. The fact he takes Lisbon’s gun before meeting with RJ in s6e8 is one of the most satisfying moments in the series for me. He knows he’s going to be searched so takes a gun so the bird isn’t found - such a good piece of misdirection! Post RJ was a lot of fun in general and felt a lot like the early seasons, but more lighthearted.
the red john stuff was the weakest for me personally. i just enjoy jane and the gang going around solving random murders and getting into trouble yk. and i liked the post red john stuff with the fbi, it was nice to see jane interacting with new cast members.
@@branchie8979 Yeah that's fair. I would probably agree with you that the weakest point of the show was the RJ stuff, but I still really enjoyed it (especially the specific moment I outlined). The general case-solving was so strong it's hard to top that on average though.
I highly doubt they did it to keep viewers. It seems that this was always planned from the beginning. That the story more or less was complete befor S1 even aired. Afterall the Mentalist was in essence always about Jane (not RJ) so it was always going to end with Jane leaving his Past behind for a new Future, and him and Lisbon had their moments from S1 all the way up to S6. S7 ending with them being together wasnt as such a way to keep viewers but to end his story. A very fitting end. If they would have continued past marriage, it would have been for money and viewers. I think they 'could' have dragged out the fight with RJ more, the finale of S6 being the death of RJ while S7 entirely focuses on Jane's comeback, fight for Lisbon and end with their marriage (being like the other a 23 Episode Season) but idk what would be sensible to add in the RJ final leadup to the fight. The ending of S5 left only 7 RJ suspects so their wasnt really an option to prolong it without it being unecessary. Jane from the beginning was always RJ focused, so it would have been out of character to prolong it. I think the ending was well made.
A lot of these don't make an impact without the context. I've watched the series, it's just... this is like getting part of the punchline without hearing the joke a lot of the time.
During mining booms when people rushed to a place to dig up diamonds, conmen would set themselves up as testers making sure diamonds were real- they'd hit the diamonds with mallets, smashing them, and then say "obviously this wasn't a diamond" and buy the shards for far less than they were worth.
The guy who plays Cho is one of the best at delivering a comedic line with a straight face.
you can see him on another show called Magnum P.I. (2018-2022)

Cho is my favorite character other than Jane.

Worked like a charm for him. Except once he drank a poison tea and went into hallucination

Diamonds are the hardest mineral on earth, that means you can't _scratch_ them with anything softer. but shatter? I'm not sure about that.
