One feature of the SlingStudio that was a killer feature is the ability to turn any old android phone or iphone into a wireless camera.
I’ve been searching for any and every alternative with this exact feature and so far no luck.

I bought a sling studio about 6 months ago and it only comes for 4 cell phones, does anyone of you know how you can add more channels for more cell phones?
People tend to forget about that feature.

I did an event with 5 cell phones on stabilizers and in went great, until somebody else adds this feature, im using it until it dies....literally

Great overview of possible replacements. I have recently purchased and have been testing the Roland Aerocaster. It's *almost* good, but still unfortunately still underdeveloped compared to the SlingStudio. I'm still looking for a replacement for my trusty Sling!
How are you feeling about the Aerocaster now that you have had some time to test it? I'm also looking for a Sling replacement and it seems like that and Yolobox are the two that come close to being contenders...
Great video very informative. Thank you! With Sling Studio you can add cell phone cameras without needing a camera link for each cell phone but connect through the app. Are you able to use a Cell Phone with the YoloBox Pro and does it require the wireless HDMI to connect??
Yes. There is something similar with Yolo but not quite as clean as sling. I’m not sure I’d use it as mission critical
NDI solves a lot of this. Lots of cameras are now coming with that built in. And with the NDI camera app, your phone is also now a wireless camera that can be ingested into things like the Director Mini, Yolobox Ultra, or by using a Birddog Play NDI->HDMI receiver.
Do you get a .XML file from Yolo box? That I can then re link to the 4k footage on the memory cards?

hi admin this sling studio is very well done but now there is no update version for this sling studio program and the sling studio website is also down. how do we use it now if there is no update?
How can we press for sling studio to return, the page is still active even though sometimes it goes down but for some reason they continue to maintain it, they just don't have any contact number

Why doesn't someone open up the sling and model their tech or get with Dish Network and see if they would sell their notes.
I don’t know if it is worth the millions it would take to replicate it and produce it. We are earning with it and you are asking users to stop earning and produce this/similar unit. It could be lucrative but that key phrase is could be.
Does anyone know if the Yolo can record all the video inputs the same way that the Sling Studio can?
Anyone tried using SDI cables to extend the range of where you can have wired cameras? I've seen SDI - HDMI converters. How far could you get and how was the quality.
We do exactly this! With SDI you can get an easy 300 feet and I like that the connectors are locking. We then convert back to HDMI right where the ATEM Extreme is with this: amzn.to/3huuPPa
Two of our cameras run that way. The other two use the Hollyland Wireless solution.

So this video helped and it didn’t. It’s what everyone who has the Sling Studio already knows. When you factor in $800 bucks for each Hollyland, you are now at $500 more per wireless signal. I am thinking Ninja Atomos X cast for hard buttons and Yolobox Pro for overlays. The only downside there is ISO recordings or lack there of. Sling handled all that program, inputs everything. It was truly a remarkable product.
We have video cameras and running cables to the is just not an option. Our sling is run by one person and needs to be easy. We don’t have room for lots of equipment. Looks like we will have to invest a lot to change.. very small church can’t really afford to start over.

SlingBox and SlingStudio have been two separate entities for a while now. While SlingBox with SlingPlayer is shutting down, there is no indication that SlingStudio will be shuttering. Yes, the chip shortage has affected every product out there, and the shortage still is ongoing.
I know folks want to keep the faith but after two years and no new units on offer I think we have to call it what it is. Several people have reported in user groups that folks at dish have informally confirmed it’s dead and nobody is working on it. My guess is they are keeping the website up in case somebody happens to offer them some money to buy it. Unfortunately time has moved on and they are getting left behind. But hey, miracles happen :)
Does anyone know why can’t i use my canon R6 with my sling studio
Sling is VERY picky about what the video settings are. It will really only work with 1080p 30 or 60fps and 720 30 or 60 fps. So you might want to check what it's set to. If it's on "auto" try setting it manually to a supported resolution. Sling will give you a very easy to miss error on the app if the resolution is wrong.
Wireless is easy. But the ability to use iPhones as wireless cams was amazing. Are there new systems that do that ?????

I cant live atream.from.youtube with my sling studio.
100% compatible. You just need your stream key and event. I send my Sling Studio to my Live U solo unit and send that to Restream. The bonding is something you never really got from Sling studio. The streaming was a liability of Sling Studio.
