It's basically a beam with a top and bottom flange for greater stability. I think your figures are close.
wow, what does pricing run. beam? install? footings? engineering?
Beam with install was about $6,500. Engineering was $1,400. No additional labor. Concrete footings were about $1,200, which includes cutting and digging.
