  • ** Wanted to mention here, do not torque down the lower control arm bolts until the truck is down on the ground on it's own weight. **
    Thanks for stopping by. Today I install Dirt King Lower Control Arms on the Taco. These things are pure beef and super well built. They add some ground clearance over the stock LCAs. The install was straight forward with no issues. Everything went off and back on as it should. I ran a couple errands after the install and the truck drives great. It feels like they absorb the bumps in the road better/stiffer. The ride feels solid and I have no issues with steering. Also, they look insanely sweet under the truck with the aluminum skids. I have been wanting these for a while. I found them up for sale on TW new in the box, had to jump on them. Thanks for watching.

      How does it ride on the street and off-road compared to stock? Does it ride stiffer or is it ride the same. I heard the wheel doesn’t correct itself as usual When turning. I have the same kings with adjusters. With total chaos upper control arm. Thanks

    • @ClassyTacos
      @ClassyTacos  3 года назад +1

      @@NateRobertson-jl4jm The ride on road/offroad is a bit stiffer, which I like so I'm not one to complain about it. All of my past vehicles were on the stiffer side. I also have my preload fairly high which also contributes to stiffness. As far as turning I have seen no difference with the wheel coming back to center/correcting itself. Turn wise it feels just like stock. I do have experience with past vehicles where you had to bring the steering wheel back after a turn so I know how it feels. It's nothing like that. The wheel coming back to center after a turn will also depend on how large a tire you run. If your tires are way larger than mine it might need a little help to come back. Thanks for watching. Great questions.

    Nice and clean set up in your garage, thanks for sharing this informative job about the Dirt King Control Arm, to bad they don't make any for the Ford Ranger. The self-tightening screws such as the one on the strenght leg which joins the suspension to the control arm in the middle, generally need to be systematically replaced by new ones. Weld on the lower control gussets and the one and alignment bolts that bison off road makes. As long as you are under doing all that. Just did that to mine a few months ago. I welded the total chaos steering knuckle gussets too. A month ago I got stop tech big brake kit fir the front. Last night I installed the rear hellwig sway bar. I have total chaos UCA’s and stock LCA’s with icon skid plates. So why the dirt king? Why not the total chaos LCA? The dirt king’s LCA’s look cool! Which UCA’s did you get? Also may pay attention to the lubrication of the bolt joint of the upper arm, not the same as the lower arm as they need loosen the screws before lubricating to avoid inducing too much pressure on the seals. ruclips.net/video/r4wLDoFuANQ/видео.html
