    Great video but, should not the lca be brought up to ride hight before final torque down of the cam bolts? So the bushings are at a relaxed state.

    I actually typed up each procedure just the way you displayed, took about 30 minutes to prep for the job, and roughly 4.5 hours to complete. All 4 of my upper and lower Ball Joints were dust with 145K Miles on them. No Viagra or Cialis could save them 😂!! My symptoms were mainly in my steering, my fronts were fighting each other over ruts and grooves like crazy along with some clicking noise over bumps. Have to say, thanks to you, I had a flawless and easy repair, and these MOOG Upper and Lower Control Arms/Ball Joints make my TACO drive like a New Truck!! Thanks again, you guys ROCK!!!! 🇺🇸👊🏻👍🏻

    Cam bolts are in the wrong direction. Never torque the frame side bolts on the control arm without the truck resting in its natural suspension position or you will tear up the bushing.

      I was wondering the same thing about getting a neutral preload on the bushings. Would be very hard for those of us working in our driveway without a service lift. I was thinking when they do an alignment they "should" loosen each cam bolt, adjust, and re-torque while the vehicle weight is on it's wheels. That would reset the pre-load on the bushing, right?
      But I am not sure that every technician will loosen every cam bolt if they don't have too, so it's possible they skip it if the pre-reading on the alignment is close enough leaving you with a bushing that will have a lot of twist internally, and likely fail early. Am I way off on this?

    KFlo, your are the MAN! Your video was just what I needed. I’m feeling sorta lucky to live in Oregon where they gravel the roads instead of salting them. I’ve got a 2005 and have some cosmetic rust but haven’t found any pitting or scale. I like that you cleaned up the rust and repainted it to protect your baby, though the corrosion wasn’t as bad as another LCA video where most of the suspension looked like it was just one big rusty piece. Looked like something found at an archeological site and I feel like so many layers of rust came off that it seems like the structural integrity of the components and frame were compromised. Is that something that could happen and would it be good to wash up the underside of our rigs and then spot check the whole thing and brush and repaint the bad spots? Anyhow, thanks for the video, by far the best LCA video on RUclips.

    Installing MOOG Upper and Lower Control Arms equipped with New Bushings & Ball Joints on my 2005 Tacoma PreRunner today. The Video is excellent, straight forward, watched both for each control arm twice, how can I miss?!👍👍

    Does the orientation of the nut and bolt really matter. Like front to back or back to front

    Hey what's your opinion on Moog UCA and LCA.

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  3 года назад

      I've used MOOG for my tie rods and they're holding up pretty well so far. At the end of the day, it's your personal reference. If you wheel pretty hard then, you can go with a higher end product, if you're only using it as a daily driver with some off road driving, then I think Moogs are fine
