    Your definition of quick is totally fine by me and i would say all of the other CC followers. Nice gearbox, I think the plastic will be ok and is much quieter than all metal so owe shall see how it runs when ou fit it. Have a great day.

    I like it! I run as many of the plastic gears (the off white version, not the white SE versions) in my SE trans as I can for weight reduction. I will eventually put one of these in my SE and use the SE tranz in a different rig. Thanks for the quick view. 😎

    Interesting changes. I wonder there's just a little more precision in the gear mesh and lower heat with the bearings vs bushings? I think you nailed the Associated upgrade model but I think we also know they generally sell a durable product out of the box. We'll see how this one does long term 👍

    I see these are due in the UK around the 12th of this month.

    Enjoying watching while I take my son's brand new SE apart to adjust the slipper. Won't even try to spin the tires on a smooth rock face. Haha just slips. He's 4 and now knows what traction control is in RC. Haha.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Год назад

      Yep. Pretty much everybody I know that's dealt with an XF will tell you two things: the factory slipper setting is too loose, and tightening it is a real pain.

  • @derrickhays3627

    Nice look inside appreciate it, buuut the white plastic scares me my rig came with a white spur and it stripped in short course, have also seen a lot of associated cr12 videos talking about those white gears and how bad they strip. Time will tell thanks so much.

  • @danweiss1371
    @danweiss1371 Год назад

    I hope when you put that in a truck, you weigh it with the stealth X weight bias and then with the new transmission to see how much weight is moved forward. I am waiting for that video so I can make my final decision. But I like what I see so far and I am not afraid of them plastic gears. Happy fourth.

      Will it fit on custom rails?

    • @CrawlerCanyon

      Skid is the same bolt pattern as a "normal" Element skid, so it absolutely should.

  • @badcredentials4230
    @badcredentials4230 Год назад

    I’d be interested to know what you think of this vs the AD Foxbelly and flat skid?
    I guess in favour of this, better shaft angles, forward motor, nice guts (though plastic)? In favour of the Foxbelly, flat skid, uses existing X?
    I ordered the Foxbelly but haven’t had a chance to fit it to my Element yet but this seems pretty tempting, especially like you said it’s new and innovative but I struggle with the belly dragging a bit on my rig/terrain so I’m wondering how much the extra clearance counts for.
    Great vid as always man and great insights, thanks!

    Just said what I said earlier they're going to wait till those plastic ones free because there's a white plastic not nylon and then you have to buy the metal gear I don't understand why they don't make them out of Teflon I'm sure that's super Stout

    Was looking to upgrade my knight walker and trail runner with this transmission. Do you recommend keeping the gears plastic?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  9 месяцев назад

      The internal gears are fine, but the "intermediate" gear between the spur and pinion needs one of two things to happen: either put in a slipper instead of the eliminator, or the intermediate gear needs to be metal. I blew up the plastic one in fairly short order. The RTR Enduro SE comes with all metal gears above the output gears, so I don't know why the kit would have plastic there.

    Gearing question. I'm using a 9imod outrunner 2250kv with a rhino esc. Stealth XF with Element axles, What gearing would you suggest for this setup?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  11 месяцев назад +1

      As small as you can go. 18T, or 17T if that motor will allow it. BSH is running an 18T, and Baseline has a 1200SE, so he runs a 24T.

  • @FaithSaraG

      I wanted to order from Amain, but lately they've been getting everything after everyone else, and/or more expensive-- the FMS Atlas was $20 more on Amain and "Mfr. does not allow coupons." So I ordered from HRP for $249, and they had a $30 coupon. What's the deal, Amain? I need my points!

    It will be a drop in into a stock element even with the stock battery location? Or the front battery tray will be needed to relocated?

    • @CrawlerCanyon

      Yeah, you'd for sure have to relocate the battery. The motor goes right through there.

    Is it possible to put the overdrive out the rear for a mullet build?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  8 месяцев назад

      Yes. You just need the topshaft from the regular Stealth gearbox, so that you can install the underdrive gear in the front. Same operation as flipping the Stealth X to run the motor plate flipped around.

    • @RiceCrisp320
      @RiceCrisp320 8 месяцев назад

      @@CrawlerCanyon I'm finding it's slightly harder than expected. Had to cut a hole for the slipper nut threads to poke out of and also it looks like I need a sleeve to space the slipper since on the SF they flats are what locate it but on the X the flats run up too far. Just FYI to the next guy

  • @brianmassey7563

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Год назад

      The XF uses the same gears as the X, so I don’t see why not. Having not tried the K&K gears, it does look like there’s more room in the XF case compared to the X.

    I've always found plastic gears to be adequate in a crawler as long as the mesh is good. I've got an OG SCX10 with an all plastic gear 3-gear, and it's still running strong, and the gears look practically new, and that rig has well over 100 hours on it, probably a few hundred. That said, I treat my crawlers as crawlers...one side-effect in the crawling hobby I've seen since the TRX4 is a bunch of people treating their crawlers as bashers...if you put a 3000kv+ motor in a crawler and drive it like an asshole, of course it's gonna strip plastic.

    What kind of grease do you recommend using ? I have a enduro knightrunner and I was interested in swapping this. Used error I destroyed a gear inside after installing the 11% overdrive. I figured if I could upgrade. I’m not sure if you recommend anything out there. Thanks

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  3 месяца назад +2

      So you're not supposed to use petroleum-based greases on plastic parts, so the responsible advice is to use your choice of lithium-based grease, whether it be Lucas, Mobil 1, whatever. I don't like how fast lithium greases "get off the gears," so I'm pretty much putting CV joint grease in everything. Highest moly content I could find, lasts forever, smells terrible. Lucas is genuinely fine in a Stealth, though. They're quiet already from the nylon output gears.
