I think it’s a trail tire, which sadly is kinda (almost) hopeless on rocks. Which is a shame, because tires like the Deep Woods are excellent trail tires that are also very good on rocks. The mountability issues make this one a hard pass for me.
@@CrawlerCanyon pain in the arse to mount I'm with you there and I was using them on dry rock and wet rock and was impressed in both cases also running the supplied foams which need a bevel cut to install I find. I also have deepwoods on another rig which yes are excellent and imo these were as good under the conditions and terrain we run on
I purchased two pairs of these, one pair came with the tall insert, the other with the reasonably sized. Because of this, I purchased 4 injora dual stage foams, I had no problems at all mounting them on ebay knockoff steel rims. They seemed decent on my rock garden backyard, comparing them to deep woods and proline km3. On the trailI was impressed how they handled loose dirt, clay and mud, but I wondered why I was being dissapointed on rock especially when it got steep and technical. I feel the carcass of the tyre is stiffer than other tyres I have whi h helped with side hilling, at least untill traction runs out. I got the ultra soft compound, which is supposed to be the softest they make and after hours of wheel spinning on sandstone trying to climb lines my other tyres manage, there is very little tyre wear. When I watched your review of the conquerer, and it was positive, I started to question what I was doing! Im kind of relieved your findings were same as mine. On a group trail run, some guy said to me "wow, your truck would be unstoppable if you had some grip"! At the time I though it was some backhander, but now I get it. I chose these tyres because they were low cost, here in Australia they are 15 bucks cheaper than deep woods and 25 less than ruptures. I used the larger foams in a set of fake ruptures which are much better than the adventurers at 1/4 the price!
The real question mark in my mind is why doesn’t Jetko just release two more crawler tires- one made out of the left side of the Adventurers, and another made out of the right. I think a symmetrical tire made out of the more knobby side could potentially be VERY good. Once they get that mounting bead figured out, that is.
Thanks ShakerMT! I like the looks of the tires, but the lack of lip on the inside and the mountablility may keep me from trying these out. If they don't work on Baseline, then I'm not sure what they'll work on. I would like to see these tires with the famous hair buns before I completely delete these tires from my memory!
I'm not sure it would have helped here, but do you ever put a chamfer on the inside edge of a closed cell? I love the saucy attitude about included foams. It's the Jetko version of RC4WD Baja Claw vs. Pro X, except same compound, so....IDK. BUT, you might get moar adventure if you flip 'em! I think they just need the traction juice and they'll be fine.
I can only imagine the creative editing that you had to do...Lots of "working words " used for sure. I don't think that I would have been patient enough to mount those.
Thank you for saving me $100NZD! I was looking at the conqueror's and saw these just about bought these adventures! Now I definitely will get the conqueror's! Although I empathised with you It was also entertaining to witness the rage build on the bench 🤣
@@CrawlerCanyon about tyres testing: I thought that the kidney bean was representative for the entire Canyon. I guess not 🤷♂️ However I really enjoyed these completely falling apart and you going on about that 😂 I was already dead after the mounting part 😅
I think they are a good tyre. Not as good as the Conqueror but still pretty good. I had zero mounting issues with mine, actually I’d say they were very easy to mount. Mine are the SuperSoft whereas my Conquerors are Ultrasoft. One pair of mine came with the huge foams and the other with normal size foams. The normal size foams are too firm anyway, so I cut them. The rubber isn’t that soft but the sidewalls are really thick. They ‘snakehead’ side of the tyre remind me of the stock tyres that come with the MST CFX-W. I’m 99% sure they are made in Korea, but no way they are made in Aus.
Well… we won’t see the 70s again until… November, maybe? The summer here is overnight lows in the 60s and 70s. Sometimes 80s. I don’t know if I’m motivated enough for 4am tire testing sessions.
Have you thought about revisiting tire tests you've done in winter (for Canyon) to summer? Rubber works differently in different ambient temperatures. That's a can of worms to open 😂
With ambient temperatures in the Canyon hitting 100F rock temperature must be much higher. Watch any race series and they show air and track temperature. Let that laser temp show not just motor and esc temp but Rick temp too?
They come with foams for people who cant afford foams after paying for the tires. So they give the foams so people can get started. Kind of like the idea of the RTR. For people who cant buy electronics after the fact. Or wouldnt know how to install them anyways😂
Try mounting Deepwoods on rc4wd deepdish wagon wheels, jeez Luiz , I spent 3 days 5 hours per day and I gave up, they just popped out like a cuckoo clock, never ever ever again will I buy rc4wd deep dish wagon wheels.
I drill holes in the inside back of my rims. That way i dont have to put a hole in my tires and in every set of tires that way if u ever want to do something else with those tires their not ruined
They remind me of Goodyear Wrangler MT/r's (another asymmetrical tread design tire). They work really well on the MOAB trails in the real world...RC4WD's offering is actually decent despite not being offered in the S2SS compound, and they do well on my one and only trail truck that sees almost exclusively forest hiking trails. I have a set of these Adventurer's still in the package that I bought last year...moutability issues aside (not something that I care too much about...once they're mounted, they're mounted) maybe it's time to mount them and replace the MT/r's and see how they do...I absolutely view this as a trail tire, and I think that's the entire point of the asymmetrical tread (I don't see that being beneficial on the rocks or there would be dozens of options out there).
Thanks ShakerMT!
edit: And especially thanks for sending something frustrating. I love a good CC rant.😂
Thank you ShakerMT! Another one I'd never heard of before.
ran these today on an axial 10.3 portal rig, mud, loose dirt, rock, grass and even over wet rocks and i was quite impressed on how well they worked

Loving these tire reviews! Have you thought of doing the RC4WD Wrangler MT/Rs? I'd be curious to hear your opinion on those!
Always straight to the point and oooooh so entertaining!! Thanks CC🎦
Thanks Mr Shaker ❤

Cheaper price is a good thing. Give more run time, if still not performing then cut the lugs to suit your needs 😉 great review of your experience

I agree I’ve been throwing my old plans out saved some just in case but man you made me
Loose it on the foams 😂🤘

I would like to see those on one of ur more capable Rigs. Just to see if it makes a good rig not so good anymore. And affects it in any way.
Info Info Info.. Great video. Thanks for all the great knowledge..👍
Thanks for all the great videos, keep up the great work.
Shakermt for President.

@shakermt thx man! A proper junkview with a load off angry rambling… CC at his best!
Why are you warming up the inserts @CC?
Tires are easier to mount with the foams made uniform, instead of all mashed into shapes from being in a bag for who knows how long.

Temp like mentioned earlier, curious what she does under 80 closer to 70> more tread in tire patch vs the conqueror

Try those tires on Toothless and see what they can do for it
I have no issue with this tyre.. I try moutnt on 1.9 beadlock and it's suck.. But it perfectly mount on 2.2 beadlock with the yellow foam..

Does not ruin tire. Hole in wheel does not work with tight beadlock ring or closed cell foam inner. In general rock crawler is never in water.
Fill a paddling pool up wit foams n jump trucks into it 😅😂😊
2 stage web wrap it
They might jus need wearing in maybe.......
Haha enough foam for a bmx foam pit 🎉🎉🎉
3d printed inserts are the way to go now foams are usless
