    Nice to see you trying one out , i have mini fusion in a my 4lbs 11 ounce rig on capra axles with 36% overdrive . It gets warm but not hot, get 40mins out of 650mah 3s .
    Rgt have a rebrand version that is 2200kv in a rtr truck . Should be available soon once parts are available
    Traxxas make 10t 48dp pinion with 2.3mm bore. Trx7645

      @@areadierc2803 Thank you i was curious. and looked up that RGT, as long as they give full access to all the adjustments that 2200 definitely fits more of my builds better, curious if power will be down some though, great tip

    Hmm, this could be the secret to running a Fusion where one normally wouldn't fit, providing an alternative to an outrunner.

    You can get an adapter tube for the 2mm pinion for 3.17 and run as low as a 9t pinion
    Also a non overdrive dlux trans has 380 mount points on it!

    hobbywing sells the motor mount adapter for this motor. sub 5lb i think is safe especially keeping rotating mass down. I hear a flyweight skid forward portal rig ( 10 pro portal ?) in the works with talking about getting more of these motors :) great test

    We put our Mini 16s in our ECX Temper and UTB18 using their OE pinions. It's been over a month and they're doing great except for the pesky off throttle delay. It only happens at full throttle to zero throttle. No heat issues whatsoever. I'm considering getting the adapter plate and putting one in a 12th scale RGT or even our Team Associated CR12 we just got (new old stock).

    I've been considering getting one, or more, of these. It would fit perfectly in some WPL rigs, but it's a bit too much to spend on rigs that basic. Would also be a perfect fit in the UTB18, but I already run an outrunner in there that works amazingly well. It does look really good though, and it's pretty cool that it works that well in a 10th scale. :)

    The absence of an adapter is nothing new, the r3 axe combo aimed at the scx6 also requires an adapter for the motor, not included, although they do sell one for it. This is a sweet option for lighter rigs and limited space.

    Mr.c, I took apart my gold dig box and it still had the blue grease and it had tons of dirt in it,so I cleaned it and it shifts a little better,it has tons of play in all the shafts inline with the dig unit. I spaced the servo more in line with the dig lever. What’s the dry slide you use and how do you get rid of all the slop in the lower shafts?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  10 дней назад +1

      Go one place at a time. Are the shafts loose in the bearings, or are the bearings loose in the housings? Is the dig part attached to the output gear tight on the shaft, and parallel to the sliding dog? You're in the place where you find out that a gearbox is $30 because you get to do the work to make it proper. A $300 all-Vanquish dig box is smooth out of the package.
      I was using Dri-Slide Bike Aid, which you can get at any bike shop. I believe that all of the Dri-Slides are the same, as I'm now using Multi Purpose, and it looks and feels identical.

    • @Bonitacreekrcs
      @Bonitacreekrcs 10 дней назад +1

      @ most of the play is end to end,the shaft that the front driveshaft bolts to slides about 1-1.5mm. The shaft that the rear driveshaft bolts to moves almost 2mm. How do you shim it and what shims do you use?

    Curious how this would do on a factory RGT Bronco, they come stock with a 380 motor on thier 10th scale trucks

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  9 дней назад

      Really depends on the KV of the stock motor in the RGT. I really think HW was aiming at factory 2S power, but I refuse to give up 3S, so I had to gear WAY down.

    I was wondering if these would work on a Bully 2 as twin MOA. I currently have twin Fusion SE1200kv which work ok but are very heavy and quite bulky.
    I hesitated that these would be too quick, but it looks to have good low speed control.
    Just need to check if I can get a 2.3mm 32pitch pinion gear that would fit.

    im super curious how this would do, i see people doing dual motor / trans for dig, vs having the dig trans... the dual motors seems to be more reliable / faster/ smoother? ive yet to use one but this opens up a way cheaper route ....

    Only reason why I say that you KV down and Gear Up is because like would it be the same pretty much as KV up gear down that's what I do anyway but I run smaller scale stuff might not affect the same way you got a lot longer of a length before you get to the axle blah blah blah I try to 2200 with a 142 and just was so close on 4S I really did like it but it just didn't have the same snappiness as my 4100 11

      The only problem is that i think these dual gearboxes don't provide enough reduction for a 3000 kv mini

    was going to ask about the pinions, already have adapter plates just need 32pitch pinions. i dont think the kv translates the same in 380s.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  10 дней назад +1

      The speed says that 3000kv is 3000kv. I was geared 14/56 (4:1) with a 1470kv, and this geared 13/90 (~7:1) is significantly faster.
      My thinking is that they assume everybody is gonna run the lil' hardcase 2S that comes with every UTB18.

    • @sofakingscalerc4656

    So i dont follow the comp world, but is this a thing people are doing? I guess i get it for weight savings but idk. This seems to me like a turbo 4 vs. a v8. Power and torque may be the same but understressed vs. high strung seems like a legit arguement. Im all on board with fusions. Definitely the LS swap of the rc world. They just work, theyre affordable, reliable. Why not? Theyre ubiqitous, too common? F it, i already have the programmer. I tried different stuff and it just wasnt as good. Long story short, i love fusions but small scale stuff makes me feel weird so this falls in a really weird valley for me.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  8 дней назад +1

      OUtside of a competitive environment, I would classify this kind of thing as a "because you can, not because you should." There are no real advantages beyond the weight reduction-- which is significant-- but the 3000kv, weird pinions, adapter required, all make the Mini16 in a 1/10 kind of a thought exercise. The amount of drag brake it has for it's size is staggering, and the runtime compared to an AM32 setup nearly doubled. So the Mini16 makes some decent tradeoffs, but performance-wise doesn't do anything a Fusion SE won't do, with significantly less effort.

    64pitch pinion

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  10 дней назад

      Anyone putting a Mini16 on a 1/10 is almost certainly going to have to change pinion and spur at the very least-- so far as I have found, in 2.3mm bore, you can have 48P and Mod 0.5. 48P is so common I would call it ubiquitous, while Mod 0.5 (50.8 pitch) is such an oddball that I wouldn't even know where to source appropriate spurs. These days, 64P basically doesn't exist (as it only ever came on pan cars and sedans,) and I'm 99% sure you're not gonna find a 2.3 bore 64P pinion.
