Great reviews man. I had the skeeter and loved it. Reminds me of it a bit. Do you live in Florida? The sandpit/ neighborhood they are building where you shot the video looks a lot like all the ones they build in central Florida where i live. Just curious!
Sadly I made the mistake of buying the Corally Asuga which turned out to be a lemon! Bent both shock towers, broke the battery straps and tray all on the first battery pack just going around a small bmx track. Very disappointed in the lack of quality as I thought Corally made good stuff. Not any more, their RC Cars are not very good! Better buy would be anything from Arrma or Team Associated by far!
@@DoRCyes that’s why I was so disappointed. I’d previously race 1/8 buggies and never bent a shock tower in 5 years. They’re only 6065 stamped alloy so not up to the task. Curious to see how these last on the Kagama.
Feels like it's a little brother. That's not really a huge surprise given that it kind of is but the suspension tuning and everything is on point just like the 6s one. Out of the box it's pretty darn slow but that's easy to fix. Overall it feels like the 6s just smaller
@@DoRC cos differential is more expensive. i know its silly but I kinda prefer it that way. 2 diffs and something in the middle. something else other than differential.
I put 100,000 in the center diff in my syncro 4, i left the front and rear stock as they felt really good anyway although im no expert on diff tuning really.
@@DoRC its probably meant to have 100k in there but mine definitely wasnt as it was super loose. But considering how good the car is that was a minor inconvenience. If this kagama is even half as good as the syncro then its worth the money in my opinion. Great video by the way.
@iainlee4680 in my opinion it's better. You get a center brace and an overall more usable car. I'm not sure what secret sauce TC uses but it's amazing to have a car that is composed over really rough terrain yet can still land a 15 ft high jump without bouncing upside down.
Depends on which car you're talking about. These days I think TC tends to provide the best balance of performance durability and price but I don't mind buying my parts online. If you want to get your parts at the LHS Arrma It's hard to beat. Redcat has also been making some moves that I've been impressed with. Honestly these days the only company I'm really not impressed with is Traxxas just because of their prices. They seem to be in their own world price wise
I really hope TC starts building large scale trucks and buggies. I'd love an Asuga XXXLR. A 1/5 scale 4x4 8s basher buggy. It's insane to me that nobody offers one.
How would you rate this against the Valkyrie?? For 300$ i don’t think it has it beat.. From what I see, the only advantage are the driveshafts…I really don’t like the plastic shafts.. Doesn’t seem to be as fast as the Redcat..but still looks pretty good. Hard pass for me…maybe the Punisher??
I'd say it's well above the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is fun but it's not a very precise instrument. It doesn't handle the best tends to get jammed up with debris has fairly vague steering etc. This car handles way better and I think will be a better vehicle long-term. Don't get me wrong The Valkyrie is incredible value for money but that cost saving does show.
I had a Sketer, it was a nice truck but I dreaded working on it. Too many screws to remove to do anything and half of them had a nut holding them in. Resale value is awful as well as around here if it isn't Arrma or Traxxas no one wants it.
This one's not too hard to work on. Resale value is always going to be a problem with anything other than Traxxas and Arrma like you said but that's only really a problem if you plan on selling it :-)
So here's the thing. I accidentally left it in the little holder during the 4S bashing session and it is gone. I spent an hour trying to find it and I can't. I could see it on my phone but just could not figure out where it was. I even used a little app that gave me signal strength and no dice. It must have gotten buried or something.
I DON’T want to see any tires vented in something that I just purchased let people who want “Vented” tires do it themselves. I want my tires with NO HOLES IN THEM AT ALL. That’s not cool at all. If someone wants their tires “Vented” then that’s their choice but let’s not force “Vented” tires on everyone? Let people who want to punch holes in their new tires do it on their own. I have a lot of reasons why I don’t want holes in my tires and I’ve been in this hobby for 5 decades, but those are my reasons and some people Want holes in their tires and that’s cool but do it yourself and don’t force me to accept tires with holes in them after dishing out hundreds in cash for a new RC. Tires with holes in them are absolutely useless to me but I have my reasons. I respect people who want the holes but brand new RC vehicles shouldn’t “Come” with holes in their tires. But honestly brother I absolutely love your videos. Your videos are the ones I’m always looking forward to watching whether I’m interested in the particular RC you’re talking/reviewing/working on or not, the videos are one of the best informative videos on any RC out there.🤷🏻♂️👍👍👍💯💯💯💯🙂🙂🙂👌👌❤️
Yeah looking back at that if shouldn't have been that much faster. I wonder if there was something wrong with the gps the first time. It's definitely a lot faster but 12mph does seem excessive. The only change was the pinion. I didn't even recharge the lipo.
Yeah sometimes I don't. A lot of it's going to depend on where you buy it from whether or not you use coupons whether or not you have to pay tax etc but right now with the perpetual coupon from hobby recreation products you can get it for $390 out the door.
I don't have long-term experience with this one yet so I can't guarantee it but I would say this one. The team associated truck is very good and especially for the price but it does have some weak points and overall I like the TC cars better
The MT8 is out of stock on Team Associateds website but in stock from all the main RC retailers, from my experience this is usually a sign of a product about to be discontinued. Obviously this is just a hunch on my part and I have no inside knowledge. I can say from experience of owning a TA Rival monster truck that once they discontinued it, parts support ended as well.
I appreciate all your videos and how you dig in to an RC to show all of us what's going on inside.

Do you live in Florida? The sandpit/ neighborhood they are building where you shot the video looks a lot like all the ones they build in central Florida where i live. Just curious!
Maybe:)
Hopefully the CVDS will hold up
So far so good
6:48 I saw you use that MIP driver as a poker 😉
Those drivers have taken so much abuse. I've used them as punches pry bars and all sorts of other things.
@ I fall out of the screw a lot when screwing and end up damaging stuff, not stripping just annoying
It would be my second Team Corally 😎
I don't think you'd be disappointed :-)
@DoRC
Is the pinion gear 32 pitch or mod 1? Also is it limited to a few pinion sizes?
I literally just add grease to each differential. Whatever is in it + grease front, center, and rear diff
In most cases that would actually thin out the fluid that's in there and grease and silicone oil don't really mix well.
What brand pinion did you use?
Just some random junk I had in my gear bag. I would recommend tekno. They make good stuff
40 is slower than Arrma 4s and 3s. There is less air control than the Outcast 4s.
That being said, are you recommending a Kagama4S?
If you were stuck at 40 probably not but since you can get nearly 50 with a simple pinion change yeah I think it's a good buy.
@ I’m Jax! Heard you’re not far away. We got to get a bash session collab going!
I hear a lot of buzz about this brand but it's not available anywhere in British Columbia. Traxxas is the only brand that has the part support here.
Yeah I don't think they have much of a presence up in Canada.
5:26 are these CVD Pin holders the Same size as on the Kagama 6s?
I believe so yes
I’d actually take that over the Arrma OutKast I love all there vehicles but never really been a fan of the OutKast.
Both good trucks but I would probably take this one too.
The straps and tray are pretty common and they've actually updated the tray but I'm surprised about the towers. Their towers are usually pretty good.
@@DoRCyes that’s why I was so disappointed. I’d previously race 1/8 buggies and never bent a shock tower in 5 years. They’re only 6065 stamped alloy so not up to the task.
Curious to see how these last on the Kagama.
WHY AM I SMILE😂, NO IM GEEKED!!!
It's a pretty awesome car!
@DoRC HECK YEAH MAN, IM GETTING IT, INDEED, ANOTHER GREAT REVIEW YOU ROCK MY G, ONE LOVE!!!
@tyshiddejuremanbey1313 thanks :-)
Without some good fans they likely are looking to keep down on heat with the original pinion/spur setup.
Maybe though even with The 15 tooth pinion it was still fine. Obviously a fan is a good idea but doesn't seem necessary with 15
This is awesome but I don't really consider $400 a budget model you're at the same price level as Traxxas and hpi.
It's budget for what it is. Most of the other 4S 1/10 scale cars are quite a bit more expensive.
How does it compare to the Kagama 6s?
Feels like it's a little brother. That's not really a huge surprise given that it kind of is but the suspension tuning and everything is on point just like the 6s one. Out of the box it's pretty darn slow but that's easy to fix. Overall it feels like the 6s just smaller
8:38 center slipper clutch, please. in diffs go 1000 or 2000 oil from the shocks.
Why a slipper clutch over a center differential?
@@DoRC cos differential is more expensive. i know its silly but I kinda prefer it that way. 2 diffs and something in the middle. something else other than differential.
@n00b247 For me I'll take the differential any day. It decouples the front and rear of the drivetrain and really helps save drivetrain components
@@DoRC in 1/8 brushless basher. 200%. mid diff only. but for 1/10 1/18 brushed casual dog walk =) even full plastic drivetrain is safe.
@n00b247 oh yeah sure for casual bashing You don't need much
What do you think about the sale Traxxas is having? I want to get a sledge but I still have a hard time justifying it at $599.
I put 100,000 in the center diff in my syncro 4, i left the front and rear stock as they felt really good anyway although im no expert on diff tuning really.
Neither am I. I think 100K is what comes in the stock but I could be wrong
I will buy one for sure!, i agree, their designers are amazing!!.
what is your preferred brand of rc cars?
Depends on which car you're talking about. These days I think TC tends to provide the best balance of performance durability and price but I don't mind buying my parts online. If you want to get your parts at the LHS Arrma It's hard to beat. Redcat has also been making some moves that I've been impressed with. Honestly these days the only company I'm really not impressed with is Traxxas just because of their prices. They seem to be in their own world price wise
@ Traxxas is all about the money, I really hope they get a new ceo
@WowoodogPlays I guess people keep buying though otherwise they probably wouldn't keep raising the prices.
I really hope TC starts building large scale trucks and buggies. I'd love an Asuga XXXLR. A 1/5 scale 4x4 8s basher buggy. It's insane to me that nobody offers one.
Yeah it would be nice to see more large scale competition.
Losi makes the DBXL and DBXL-E. They don't seem to sell well.
@BeardRubEnjoyer Yeah but those aren't really hardcore bashers. They're cool but I'd like to see more things like the X-Max and 8s arrmas
Just put my order in.
Nice!
@@DoRC My 4s Sketer has a special place in my collection. Love that car.
@FullOnRC you'll love this too then!
Pretty dang impressive….
Definitely! Thanks for watching :-)
My hobao hyper 7 runs 1mill in the center 500 front and rear . I’m thinking of doing the same for my krayton
Sounds reasonable
haha, I literally do the same thing for my center diff. just add a dab of traxxas 20mil
Hi you too. Easy and works well
I had a Sketer, it was a nice truck but I dreaded working on it. Too many screws to remove to do anything and half of them had a nut holding them in. Resale value is awful as well as around here if it isn't Arrma or Traxxas no one wants it.
This one's not too hard to work on. Resale value is always going to be a problem with anything other than Traxxas and Arrma like you said but that's only really a problem if you plan on selling it :-)
No 6s GPS?
So here's the thing. I accidentally left it in the little holder during the 4S bashing session and it is gone. I spent an hour trying to find it and I can't. I could see it on my phone but just could not figure out where it was. I even used a little app that gave me signal strength and no dice. It must have gotten buried or something.
Cool looking rc but man is it slow. Like always slow. Guess that will make it more durable.
It actually feels perfectly adequate with a 15 tooth pinion. 47 isn't the fastest in the world but it's enough.
Love it ❤
It's a beast!
I would have liked to see 17t on stock
Unfortunately I had limited time and wanted to try it on 6S I'm sure people will do it though.
Beast 😊
Definitely!
I would much rather have the tires vented than have the wheels vented and most manufacturers are going to do one or the other.
20m in basher center diffs, always...
Nothing wrong with that. I like to go a little thinner on truggies just so I can steer them but thicker is better for stunts!
I’m sorry but did you just go up 12mph on 2 tooth pinion change??? I can’t believe that. Has to be something else you did…
Yeah looking back at that if shouldn't have been that much faster. I wonder if there was something wrong with the gps the first time. It's definitely a lot faster but 12mph does seem excessive. The only change was the pinion. I didn't even recharge the lipo.
You never mentioned $$$
Yeah sometimes I don't. A lot of it's going to depend on where you buy it from whether or not you use coupons whether or not you have to pay tax etc but right now with the perpetual coupon from hobby recreation products you can get it for $390 out the door.
Not really
Not really what?
A fanboy in denial 🎉@@DoRC

@@PeterAlbury-b4l😂❤
First! Again?
Looks like it!
I'll go next to that☝️
For the same price I can get a 6s Team Associated MT8……which is the better truck for the same price?!
@FlailinMonkey maybe a new version coming?
@@DoRC I hope Team Associated releases a new better version.
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for watching :-)
