      Do you have to have the Rapsodo premium membership subscription to get full function on Awesome Golf or GSPro on the MLM2Pro? Same question for the Garmin R10. I'm trying to understand the ownership cost after the initial purchase.

    Thanks for putting this together. I'm happy with my R10 and lifetime Awesome Golf license. No more money out of pocket, and does what I need it to do. I'm always weary of subscription based products. If the company goes out of business or shuts down their servers, you're SOL with your hardware.

      The r10 performed well. It’s just the spin axis and face to path numbers that are questionable at times

    As a mid-high handicapper, I hit many slices, and the R10 told me I was hitting straight. That alone was enough to convince me to get the MLM2PRO with calculated sidespin. If I practice with the Garmin (friend has one) I was being told that all my drivers were straight bombs, then, on the course, SURPRISE SLICE! so no, Garmin is not good for mid-high handicappers.

      @davidmaxfieldgolf  7 месяцев назад +2

      The measured spin axis of the mlm2pro is a massive benefit. If you don’t have the RCT balls with the Garmin then it does struggle

    I took my R10 to the local range and set it up in one of the bays. It was a busy day so the bays either side of me were occupied. I found the yellow balls were able to be picked up but the white balls often weren’t read. Not sure if the players in the other bays were interfering with the reading but it might be worth testing the units at the range

    • @davidmaxfieldgolf
      @davidmaxfieldgolf  7 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve done plenty of outdoor tests with the Garmin using both range balls and white balls. I haven’t come into that issue so not sure what was going on for you there. If the unit was pointed directly into the sun then it may have struggled

    What would you recommend for outdoor use in a net. For a guy trying to stop a slice and trying to hit irons more consistently. Can’t decide and both are in my budget. Thanks mate.

    My question is I own the r10. I feel like If I do a big slice or a mis hit. The garnin almost reads it straight or slightly offline. Also when using it a sim I feel like the chipping is off. In your opinion does the mlm2 pro handle that better. I want work on shaping. More realistic making sure the ball is doing what it supposed to do when I hit it. I don’t want to keep hitting way off line but the garmin says it’s straight. Then I take it to the course and boom way off line. Thank you for the content

    • @tuanoful
      @tuanoful 7 месяцев назад +2

      A friend of mine has the R10, and that's exactly what happened. I am a 15 hdc so I do hit bad slices, specially with driver, more often than I'd like to admit.But when I play with his R10, I'm hitting straight bombs close to 300.
      I know that's not true, so, since I wanted numbers closer to reality, and the MLM2PRO has sidespin, I went with Rapsodo.
      I want to be able to do real practice with the simulator, and I just don't trust garmin with it. Maybe if I was really good and never hit slices, it would be fine, but I do hit slices, and i know I do.

      How is your experience with the mlm2 pro. Our golfing skill is pretty close. What are your thoughts on it? I’m deciding to sell my garmin then picking up the mlm2. I know there is a subscription, I get it. Updates and software development are not free. Much rather pay for consistency and peace of mind then lies lol

    • @davidmaxfieldgolf
      @davidmaxfieldgolf  7 месяцев назад +2

      The short chipping on the mlm2pro is a lot better because it’s reading the RPT pattern of the golf ball. I almost never have an issue with that side of things at all.

      @@Dubnlove I haven't tested enough, but from the start I feel more confident on what it's telling me. I used the Garmin for a week and I really didn't enjoy not being sure if I could trust it.

    Still my only issue with MLM2Pro is that it lacks club path and face to path. I find it to be quite important if you're trying to work on your swing. Garmin R10 provides that info but on the other hand when I work on my swing it would be nice to know if I sliced a ball badly. That is why it's so difficult for me to choose and I wonder if either of these units is for me. What your thoughts on that David?

    • @davidmaxfieldgolf
      @davidmaxfieldgolf  6 месяцев назад

      The Garmin R10 has it but it’s not accurate. I compared it with my skytrak+ and the differences were quite a lot.
      The MLM2PRO has impact vision and swing vision which is arguable better anyway where you can review every swing and shot with both video of the whole swing and a 240fps camera of the impact vision which literally shows your face to path

      Tough one as they're both really different units and probably for 2 different golfers. If a lot of your time is on the range then the SC4 is great but indoors and into a net the MLM2PRO has a lot of features

  • @trentpatterson4305

    I've owned both, and do not for 1 seconds regret getting the mlm2pro. The side spin alone is worth it, and the distances are close enough, but still better than the r10 imo. But the r10 would show slices when the ball went the other way, if you're trying to work on shot shape and cannot afford skytrak or blp then this is your option
