I'll never understand how Audioslave went from being so proud of playing 100% original material to doing these really awkward RATM and Soundgarden covers 2 years later.
I imagine they were still proud of those songs and enjoyed playing them, so I understand. Rage mostly broke up because Zack was on a different wavelength than the rest. It’s a little weird, especially with Cornell taking lead, but they’re just as much the band’s songs as they are the singer’s so I feel like I get it.
Also because, you know…they’re playing in fucking Cuba. Fans of Rage in Cuba have only listened to them on very illegal usb thumb drives and burnt cds up until then I imagine.

Chris had no business doing Zach's parts. This is like if the 3/4ths of Metallica kicked out James Hetfield and then had idk, Ozzy come in and do all of his parts as if there was no change.
I admit, it sounds pretty awful. I also admit that when this band first formed, I was excited. Two great bands melding into one. But in the end, it pretty much sounded like average Soundgarden. I think this performance is basically an attempt to make RATM fans happy.
Well yeah Chris isn't a rapper. It's definitely out of his comfort zone. Same way that Zach could probably never pull off a Soundgarden song. He could do it in his own style but you're comparing two incredibly unique and different vocalists. It was never going to sound very good but they did it as a service to the fans.
