It made me so happy to find this on Spotify. Such an incredible cover.
You can just tell how much this song means to him. He fuckin nailed it.
inSANE cover!! thank you, Denzel
He nailed the vocal part but does he understand what he's saying? Or will his handlers let him know?
@@dealerslicenseopswhat do you even mean by this? you assume that he put this much effort into bridging the gap into another genre because of management or something? he killed this cover, and clearly resonates deeply with this song

Usually I hate Rage covers because I feel like they never capture the spirit and energy of the songs as they were performed by RATM but this dude is channeling Zack de la Rocha perfectly for this song.
Spot on man. The energy is 100% on this cover. That real angst which others don't have.
Word
I think the hardest thing about covering them is they they're actually amazing at playing in the pocket. Rage is rhythm section out, so someone just playing the guitar part or just singing doesn't fully get it. You've gotta get several awesome and high energy dudes to play rage, because that's what rage is.
Brass Agaisnt do pretty good covers of RATM and its brass instruments. Maggie's Farm is really good
The problem with this cover is that the energy is there %100 but he lacks the calm collected vocals that put the threat in them. Like it sounds like he's angry but anyone can be angry; not everyone can do something about it. Like the difference between someone ranting on facebook vs someone who would pull the trigger. Im not sure if I expressed that in a way that everyone can understand but in my opinion that's what I feel like it's lacking. Overall best cover ive seen out there. Well done
I don't think the instrumental section gets enough credit, really sick cover.
its VERY hard to properly nail rage against the machine, its easy to sound like them but these guys nailed that really tight sound
@@Hal0Sux and they did it in thier own way too. The guitar is.. unique even from a ratm perspective
tight n raw
I’m not a fan of the guitarist. But to be fair it’s hard to match Tom morello

I feel like even the band was not prepared for that energy
Keyboardist most certainly was though lol

This cover went so hard it got Rage back together
Yah!! We know it!

I know a Rage tribute band created because a bunch of friends watched this video!
I think the OP meant 'Rage' as in pre 1987 Rage. When rage meant Rage. Look up 'Fuck the Police'.
Denzel out here uniting rap fans and metalheads with one of the best RATM covers ever
Bringing back nu metal!
That's what rage did...
At best it's aight
@@cfoofc1 ur trash

I love how unhinged Denzel sounds on this track. De la rocha’s original performance was more controlled and spit-fire, but Zel straight up sounds like he’s losing his mind
You can tell he *means* the lyrics.
I mean this song was released in 95 or something and it's still relevant, I'd be pissed singing it too. You'd think we'd learn something?
its militant as fuck
How would you know what the sound of someone losing their mind is? It's an act, like a clown, when RATM plays this song, live, the crowd loses our minds collectively, that is the sound of art having a true impact.
On March 4, 2014, Curry's brother Treon "Lotto" Johnson died as a result of complications of being tasered by Hialeah police. It's a song about police violence and his brother died by the hands of an officer
I've never heard Denzel Curry before but that man 100% without a doubt did exactly what needed to be done with that song. It couldn't be better. He achieved the anger, the emotion, the precision, the volume, the energy and even put his own verse in there too. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Bro is done with the popos
Denzel's rap stuff is actually amazing, but it's also very different in style. I highly recommend checking him out because he's a very good underrated rapper.
@@peepoodemina They killed his brother. Yeah he's done with them
One of my favorite rappers
How is his voice so absolutely perfect for this
I would like your comment but it has 4 20 likes ;(
Cause he's denzel lol
Because he knows how to articulate and control his voice with the band
Because he has unleashed his inner metal.
He’s got the same energy as Zack does
Denzel got that fury in him. Fucking amazing cover.
Furys are cool
Denzel has an amazing screaming voice for this shit it’s actually so impressive
fury is the perfect word honestly lol especially when we RALLY ROUND THE FAMILY
You mean he got the Rage in him?
Rage not furry, furrys don’t belong
The ONLY person I've seen cover RATM and absolutely NAIL it. Seriously, he did not need to go as hard as he did, but my God, I'm glad he did lol
Sophia Urista managed it too imho. Always impressive to see.
He does Zack's part well but no guitarist can cover Tom Morello!
Ehhh I would say it’s interesting. I feel like maybe his voice was too strained and he tried to over power the instruments. With rage you have to try to become part of the instruments I feel. But it was good.
Dude. These songs DEMAND this much energy especially these days
Tbh Zel going even more in just made it all the better
Five years later and this recording still blows me away. The passion and the energy Denzel brings is just incredible. Look at the way the other musicians react to his energy when he steps on the mic. Look at the way they smile at each other at the end, or the way even the keyboard guy is going mad. And all of this at 8 am in the morning Aus time. Denzel is something else.
His screaming actually sounds like... *really good!*
Dylan Watersnake agreed but live his screams are garbage maybe he has been practicing since I’ve seen him
Austin Elder What the fuck are you talking about?
Idk if he uses correct screaming technique cos there is false chord and fry but I doubt he'd use fry as he is so energetic, hopefully with he doesn't fuck his vocal chords
Matt cad he performed live with suicide boys And tried to scream during ultimate suicide and sounded like a dying frog 🤦🏻♂️🤡 miss me with whatever dumb shit you about to say

Denzel killed this, Obviously he's gonna nail the rap parts, but the aggression during the chorus is insane.
He reads the teleprompter the whole time , look at him . Killing it is when you can sing on your own .
exactly! people dont appreciate zach's background in hardcore, and denzel absolutely killed that

This is how you cover a song, physically, musically, emotionally, intellectually, and make it better. At first, I wanted to say how great it sounded, but that can’t even begin to convey how well done this is
Oh come on, this is not better than the original lmao. The guitar work is nothing compared to Morello’s

the other musicians are usually Australians. "Like a Version" is a weekly segment on the Australian radio station Triple J. It involves Australian and international artists playing 2 songs live in the Triple J studio, one of their own songs and then a cover version, hence the name of the segment.

His own verses in the solo slotted in there nicely.
He kicks ass man, definitely check out more of his stuff!
Not a Denzel stan, but do yourself a favor and listen to his stuff if you havent yet. He's a very complete artist, his music is usually very deep, and can even be considered the RATM of rap, from the most debated topics like social inequity and racism, to things people dont usually talk about like the suicide and selfish culture these days.
Also, if you liked this i suggest you listen to a live stream Post Malone did around new year's time, covering a bunch of Nirvana songs, obviously not the same punl energy as ratm but like Denzel its arguably as good as the original.
It's now rage with machine , beware of fighting monsters lest you become monsters ( nietzsche)
His best song is darude - sandstorm
It's funny because the reason the rapping fits (even though he was about a half beat off) is because Tom Morello actively channeled rapper cadences or dj scratching into his solos.

I consider this honestly to be the greatest cover of all time. So much emotion it’s raw it’s real!
I was sold as soon as he said “Come with it now”..... but when this man screamed “bulls on parade” it was game over
what a piece of shit cover.... you people are giving them undue confidence... or is the standard really this low these days
@@notimportant3686 what do you mean? This is badass
@@notimportant3686 I'm sure it's better than you could cover.
Not Important you sir are a bellend.
Not Important Please explain.
That verse he rapped in place of the solo was incredible. The way he attacked the off-beats in contrast to the rest of the band and keeping that flow cannot be easy to do. Then he came out of it perfectly, seamlessly getting back into the song. Amazing.
it's a verse from Sirens, another song of his
Suddenly it was grime time! The genre is incredibly fluid, lyrical and inspiring , you may enjoy it.!
I sooooo love the rap and how he comes back in after that rap. It's just insanely intense. Seriously.
One of the best if not THE best covers of BOP.
BULLS ON PARADE | 13ULLS ON PARADE

Denzel also changes S to Z so it would be 13ULLZ ON PARADE
13ULLZ ON P4124D3
This is the greatest and most respectable homage to a song I’ve ever heard in my entire life.
I always say when you do a cover “do you”, don’t try to copy their afflictions etc. This was beyond perfect
If you appreciate a good cover a couple you should check out is dream on by blacktop mojo and sail by devildriver.
@@sampoulson5690 Dude I checked that out and let me just say, not a fan. Also don’t find it finding to be referenced here. This is a cover, and homage, and has a dash of his own lyrics. It also shows how this song is still transcending time. That other cover was just some average to the T but with really cheese bro distortion. Plus it’s Aerosmith, not exactly a gem of an artist.
@@stalwartzero7001 so true, nobody can do you as good as you. If you dont make it your own, your cover will just be a cheap imitation
Norah Jones did an incredible version of Black Hole Sun after Chris Cornell passed away
I feel like this is Denzel’s lane and he doesn’t even know it
THIS
hopefull Denzel starts a band he seriously has the rage voice for metal or rock
We can hope man, it's tough to say for sure but I MIGHT like this more than the original. He's got the pipes for sure.
there's another band like RATM. yall should check out hyro the hero. their music is kind of the same. metal+rap
I think he knows. He makes more emotive, angrier hip-hop compared to his contemporaries, all while emo-trap is trendy. He definitely knows what he's doing, ZUU's last track (forgot what it's called) is really high energy and metal-ish.
I didn't think it was possible to cover this song. Good job. 9/10.
we need denzel curry, zillakami, jpegmafia and danny brown to hop on punk instrumentals for a whole ass album this is insanely dope
Tyflerghen mc ride has to join too
Tundra for suuuure
Jpegmafia can play the synth but it’s broken and on fire
Tyflerghen I second this
ScarLxrd should join aswell

Don't mind me. Just posting lyrics for me to read every time I watch this masterpiece.
Come with it now
Come with it now
The microphone explodes, shattering the molds
Either drop the hits like de la O or get the fuck off the commode
With the sure shot, sure to make the bodies drop
Drop and don't copy yo, don't call this a co-op
Terror rains drenching, quenching the thirst
Of the power dons - that five sided Fist-a-gon
The rotten sore on the face of Mother Earth gets bigger
The triggers cold empty your purse
Rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
Weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes
No need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk the corner to the rubble, that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and moving
They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally 'round the family, pocket full of shells
Rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
Listen
Birds chirpin', dogs barkin', kids missin', milk cartons
Soul dark as black markets, war is startin', more is sparkin'
Historic prophets praise Muhammad
Diff'rent Strokes, Philip Drummond
Gave me crack, like I'm plumbin', Jesus Christ, second comin'
Cut myself, now I'm numbin', never scared, never runnin'
Chosen one, I'm one hunnid, pray for me, pray for London
Guilty me, he ain't done and gun me down, all for nothin'
President in abundance, president is a puppet
Gotta hate it, gotta love it, pass a class, I rise above it
Wise enough, advise the public, pistol bust, screamin' "fuck it"
Donald Trump, Donald Duck, what the fuck is the difference?
Now we stuck, in a rut, this ain't what I envisioned
What is what? What is guts when you don't have intuition?
Not a saint, not a sin, tell me what's my real religion?
Genocide, Genesis, they say it's a new beginning
I'm a sinner, you a sinner, I can see the devil grinning
Rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells
Bulls on parade
Come with it now

Thanks for the rap lyrics. Exactly what I was searching for. ✌🙂
Damn. The world didnt know how much we needed that
yes please come back RATM we need you guys NOW!!
yomuthabyotch the do still have RATM it’s just Prophets of Rage now with Breal and Public Enemy, no where near as good as De La
@@logansweeney6268 its not the same.
That was one of the most earned mic drops in history.
THIS IS WHAT “PROPHETS OF RAGE” NEEDED THIS WAS THE DIRECTION THEY SHOULDVE GONE, IT LITERALLY JUST MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE MUSICALLY
James R2112 he does a better job than B real for sure
I need more of this! Prophets of rage was so disappointing
@@m3tallic I agree, coulda been so great.
Prophets of rage seemed like a shitty gimmick straight away. Straight rehash, the fact Tom was saying shit like the world needs us to talk about politics in music, and they booked a huge over ambitious tour after putting out like a single. Yaaaawn. Some punk hardcore band gotta work with zeltron and give us the shit we need
Been a couple years since I've watched this. Big reminder to me how important showing emotion and energy is in a performance. You feel everything Denzel is putting down because he is totally unashamed to yell, freak out, put himself out there. So impressive.

Louis Castillo have you seen the ta13oo tracklist
I never heard of this guy. But he freaking nailed this song.
I didn’t know I needed this
Mori thanks for the recommendation
Honestly, I had never heard of him before this morning (just showed up in my feed). Great cover - raw and full of energy.
He did a cover of Chop Suey at one of his concerts, it's sick
TJCS brooo I know! I have to see him perform chop suey before I die!😂
Same here.
