    I believe the point of this video in not to insult Rage Against the Machine or SG but to point out how insanely frustrating it was to form a new band. Those of you that get offended by Tom's comments are being too sensitive. Look at it the way the members of the band saw it, being in a band is like a marriage, Audioslave was new and everyone was comparing it to the members former marriages. If you got a divorce and got remarried and somebody kept asking you about your former partners, you're going to be like, my new partner is better than them, way better and you'll defend your new marriage. It's simple really. The fact that some of you cannot see that is really sad.

  • @dbeck82

    Damn. I knew RATM had turmoil but I wish I hadn't seen this. All three talking about it with a yucky undertone.
    Interesting too that when Cornell left Audioslave the band found out by Chris doing a Rolling Stone interview. To me it proves that too many creative geniuses can only sustain for short periods. No insult to either, I have never mourned as I did when Cornell left us, and I have tickets to the postponed RATM tour because they have always helped me through the darkest times. Loud live CC!

    Chris Cornell is known to be able to play the guitar (and thereby bass) and drums. Audioslave should have had him as a one-man-band (drum on the back and everything) but then he doesn't sing and instead the three guys do a barbershop vocal over his music. It's the only way they could have worked through these issues.

    • @jns9071
      @jns9071 6 лет назад +5

      Adam Sz I think he meant rocking in a different way. Audioslave sounds more like what a classic or a generic rock band would do. Rage was more influenced by hip hop so it was a completely different thing. Both great, just that one was more rock in its pure essence than the other one

      @pzlrone1252 6 лет назад

    • @ActivistParrot
      @ActivistParrot 5 лет назад +4

      Rage did rock but they had more political intent. Audioslave was more about the music. You can tell just by listening to both of them. Put a rage CD in and then listen to audioslave. Rage is awesome but it was like they stayed in one place as a band. Every song sounded so similar than the last one with another political message. Audioslave was more versatile. No offense to rage. I love rage against the machine. Imo it's really hard to stay in one place as a band. Hell the same goes for singers in all genres. Audioslave got away from the politics and focused more on the music. Their songs varied as well as the lyrics. Tom morello did way more guitar work in audioslave than rage, that's my opinion though. If you dont believe what I'm saying take a look at limp bizkit and kid rock. They were both influenced by rage against the machine. That whole attitude era of rock/rap died down quickly. Limp bizkit still tries but I dont think they're doing very good. Kid rock hasn't done any of his old shit in years. The last time I heard he was sort of country-ish or something.

      Levi Baker I am ok with other people disagreeing with me. But Tom has become TOO vocal about Chris, 13yrs after they disbanded. It's just an observation.

    • @evil6564
      @evil6564 6 лет назад +16

      A pretty pointless observation. Slash only did one song with him, so when Slash talked about Chris was that being too vocal? Tom and Chris were great friends, just because Audioslave broke up doesn't mean that would change anything. In fact, there was an Audioslave reunion show in January earlier that year. So on top of their friendship, they still enjoyed to play music together. If your friend, who was also known to be one of the greatest singers of all time, died would you not be vocal about it? And if you were vocal, how would you feel if people said they didn't like you anymore because of it? It just seems unnecessarily hateful, sir. Tom is a great man.

    • @TheKikismom
      @TheKikismom 6 лет назад +2

      Levi Baker Wrong example, Levi. But it's ok. Slash hasn't say anything about his alleged "drug abuse" near his death. Tom did. Not even Soundgarden has say blip about it. Tom just needs the widow to let him release those "rare" songs they still have in archive. Listen, like I told. We all have different opinions. After doing my research, I did find a lot of sad details. Tom can be a great man, I don't doubt it. I just don't like him anymore because how vocal he has become towards a band mate they did helped and as result he never went back to that style again. Look at Chris body language during the spots Tom talks. He did talked how different he felt around RATM members at the end. He wanted out.

    • @evil6564
      @evil6564 6 лет назад +8

      I'm having a hard time reading your comments due to grammatical errors, so if this is my last response I apologize. Yes Tom talked about drugs, who cares? He knows a hell of a lot more about Chris than either one of us, so how are you disagreeing with him? Maybe nobody else was open to talk about the drug dilemma, maybe it doesn't just mean Tom is a douche? All I ask is that you take all angles into consideration. Now onto the next thing you said: Chris, Tom, Brad, and Tim ALL talked about how different of an experience it was to be in a completely different band. That's the whole point of being in a different band. When you mention body language, to be honest it's hard to read his body language in this video. But from what I can tell, he just seems to be listening intently to what Tom and the others are saying while thinking of what he'll say next. I don't see any discomfort. Not to mention, a lot of these clips were from early on in the band. So if Chris wanted out like you said, why would he make 2 more albums with these guys? Your points make no sense to me and I'm getting tired of this idiotic conversation, there's no reason for it. RIP Chris.
