I’m a Flowmaster guy - have run them on all my fox bodies even if they don’t flow the best because the sound is irreplaceable. That said those Mac mufflers sound sweet!
The SBF sound is classic and is the only thing keeping me from putting an LS in my car.

In the 90s I ran OG Flowmaster 2 chambers with no tails on my '85 F150 5.0 ho 5 speed. Long tubes, 4' pipe, 2 chambers. B cam, performer rpm, Street Avenger 670, 3-5 drop, 295-50s at all 4 corners. Learned a lot building that junk. Started as an I6 300 4 speed.
My first mufflers were flowmasters back in 91. I stayed with them for a while then went to Spintechs. Once I built my 418w I started with Spintech ProStreet 6000 mufflers, then switched to HARM aluminum mufflers.
It's so good. It's the classic Mustang sound because it doesn't get better than this.

Im still running MAC mufflers on my capri. Ive had them on there since 1999! I love the sound raspy sound they have!
My race car had 70 Series Flowmasters. It was an exhaust a buddy had made and I bought it off him. They barely fit in the floor recesses. They sound good, muffled the engine a little more than a 40 series. But on that car I didn’t really care. It was driven on the street but was ran at the track.
It was a really good sounding car. 357 Windsor Sr. Heads, Vic Jr., 750 Mighty Demon, Comp street roller XR292R, in an almost full weight GT ran 10.90-11.00 consistently. Ran in 9’s on a Big Shot Kit pilled down to 150.
I have a pair of Paradox signature series for my build. I can't wait to hear them with my long tube headers into 3" x-pipe, no cats.

Sounds so much better with mufflers and exhaust. Flowmasters are the classic sound but I prefer a straight through dynomax ultra flow or magnaflow now
We may be trying one or both of those.

I had a 1989 Fox body several years ago and I ran Cherry Bomb Pro Series fully welded mufflers very similar to flow master sounded amazing!
I run MAC mufflers on my Capri. Sounds like a 5.0 should.
I just put paradox mufflers on and they sound pretty dang good
For chambered I like the old Macs and for new ones Spintech. On my 88 I love my Black Widow Venom 250 straight through design mufflers

Mac was my 1st exhaust on my 94. Sounded awesome with an X pipe. Now i have a Prochamber w magnapaks, and i don't ever want to get rid of it even if it robs Hp.

The Mac flowpaths are the best sounding mufflers on the SBF in my opinion. Shame you can’t buy them anymore☹️.

I guess I missed something...when you cut the corner off the muffler to put on a new plate and a reducer, was that the inlet side of the muffler? Because you could have just made a 3 inch hole in the plate, I'd think. I'll assume it was the exit side of the muffler, where a smaller ID can keep the velocity of the exhaust at a high speed and then let it feed into the bigger tailpipes where the gases expand?
It was 2.5 and no there was no way to do that. Whole corner needed cut
Love the sound. I prefer a quieter exhaust rather then a high decibel sound.

The system came out awesome! Nice work on the muffler rebuild. A muffler dyno shootout would be RUclips GOLD… I know it would be a pain in the ass but…. If you had 5-6 sets of mufflers with slip fits/bands and you could swap them between dyno pulls, same day, man that shit would bring the views…
Compare 2 chamber Flowmasters; Macs. UltraFlows, Borlas etc etc and see how much power there REALLY is between them. Everyone knows Flowmasters suck for power but….it would be awesome to see how much they really kill…. If any….

Getting old means you can’t hear as well so you can go louder. Just kidding. I am 54 and love straight through Black Widow mufflers. Their Venom 350 is their quietest. They don’t have the cabin drone that some chambered mufflers do.
Bro you got atleast 100$ in band clamps. I use them a few times actually really like the clamps
