Thanks for showcasing a genuine budget budget build with realistic power goals. Subbed and looking forward to seeing more
Those 5.8 GT40 lowers sell for good money. I would love to see a ported truck lower with a homemade box upper vs one of the cheap carb style intake that come with injector bungs.
Thats a great idea however time and money to pay someone to fabricate it vs. finding another.
I was coming to say the same thing the last one I saw sold for$1500
Price motorsports sells adapter plates to mount a 5.0l lower on a 5.8l block.
I assume the carb style would make more power and you can get a speed master for around $200, may need to be drilled. Some day I would like to try it. But right now the stock 5.0 is holding strong so I have not branched out. I have a tig welded and have always wanted to try to build my own box upper.
I'm so ready to see the dyno numbers on this one. I've got all the same parts lying around the shop.
Me too actually haha
Can’t wait to see this one run!
Getting close to seeing the 387 make it to its new home
Great build. Im very interested in the results. Im considering something similar for my 94 Lightning.
There’s a whole playlist done. We’ve been driving on this motor. Almost a year now. It’s pretty bad ass for what it is
You have me going picking up a new hood for my 351 swap getting all the parts now .
I'm a lone wolf no one to help not a mechanic but willing to take a chance and do what i can do .
Without your videos I never whould be doing a 351.
I might keep as nos car make it a simple build for a daily driver but with a Party Shot !🎉
Hell ya man! keep grinding get that 351w done!
@Neomustangs thanks man I appreciate you and what you do ! Keep doing what you doing !
I got another guy in ohio now hooked on your channel as well.
Perfect timing for this build. This evening I started stripping stuff off a '96 roller that I bought last night. The condition of the bores will determine which direction I'll go with the build.
Hell Yeah. 387 lookn good 👍
Glad to see more 351W builds. Everyone is always stuck on the 302 builds. I do not understand why when you have the 351W available.
That’s right
I "wanted" to go 351w, but I went 302/306. 515hp na.
Lunatic cam & 195cc afr heads.
Gforce trans. 28oz balanced stock block. Wife has the last say in my build. 🤷
Definitely would love to see some N/A power comparison with the intakes or what it would make N/A in general
Great to see mate. I'm just getting into the Windsor and trying to get as much info. Most people in NZ had 351 Cleveland's.
Great video as always and I can’t wait to hear that screaming down the drag strip!
Hell ya
Man, I love this build! Big fan, of the 351W!
Awesome, that is a good looking build, can't wait for the first fire up on this 387 stroker.
Hell yeah! I've been waiting on this one. Lol. Can't wait to see it amd hear it run on the dyno... then drag strip.
❤ these engine build video's 🙌🏾🙏🏾🤲🏾 thanks for sharing, thanks for the motivation.
All the way live👍😂
Another good job fellow. Take care, Brent
Ty !
I really enjoy the engine builds, gives myself even more motivation to get my motor together, sucks having to wait on parts or money lol
I get it man!
Heck yeah , bro nice coming content, I'd like to see the hp difference between the cobra, and the gt intakes. Thanks keep em coming
Great video love this budget build
That's a great build I would love to see it using an Edelbrock pro-flow 4 system to see what kind of power it could make ! Just thinking out loud . Great content looking forward to the next update , Thank You . 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
Good progress brotha shell be running in no time
Thx brother!
Sweet, I was just wondering as I began to watch this video if my TF 170s would be enough head for a 351 build!!!
It’s small, it’s just what we had lol. They’ll work fine. Motor will stay under 6500
I can't wait to see what this thing makes for power. Give me an idea what my 387 could make! I've got the same heads, i might try the summit f+ cam haven't decided yet
I tried to send you a link for a GT40 intake with a 351 lower.
But I just looked at the ad a little closer, and I realized it was iron.
I had no idea they even made such a thing. Looks like it might be a marine thing.
Ya there’s a cast iron deal. It works just heavy.
Did you see my recommendation for the 351 lower in the other video? OMC boat lower. They can be had for very low cost.
Ya I seen that and thanks. I may ending ups using the box R here. Try an carb style efi on 408?
@@Neomustangs the carb style lowers have several options to choose from in the single plane, but if you want a dual plane you'll likely have to have one fabbed up for injectors and fuel rails.
Motion Raceworks has an adapter for the 4150 style carb that will run an LS style 105mm throttle body. Should be mint with the Terminator X.
Those carb lowers flow a lot of air.
Bro i appreciate the information 🇺🇸
Do you or anyone else close to south east Michigan know of anyone good at bodywork/ putting floorboards in a 68 cougar GT?
No sorry brother
Does it HAVE to be balanced?? Ive thrown together several LS engine combos without balancing with great results!!!!…..i understand you need the correct 28/50oz balancer but does it actually have to go into a machine shop and the whole 9 yards with bobwieghts what not!!!
I mean if you want it to last I think it’s very important
Can't wait to see it in the back car. It looks great. Did you say you use copper spray gasket on a head gasket???
Nah. Didn’t really think I needed It both surfaces were recently machined.
I always heard you never put anything on head gaskets.
@@jimmerwilli5592 I have used copper kote spray on composite type head gaskets on several different engines with no adverse effects 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
@neomustangs what material do you use on the valve cover breathers? Mine get vapor and drip on the exhaust after some miles. I have a na 306 that has like 5k miles on it. Thanks in advance! And as always I Love the content 💗 Good vibes and great info as always
I plan on building one of these so you think the twisted wedge 170s will be enough on a NA setup or do I need to go bigger.
Go bigger
whats the part number for this crank?
How Did You Break A Cam Shaft?
Made too much power !?
I have a port matched GT 40 351 lower new
Ya? Aluminium ?
@@Neomustangs yes also have a built 351 that I was going to swap in my 67 FB but had a serious offer couldn’t refuse so I sold it the old Shelby clone .If my memory is right back in 94 Pro M made a Box upper for GT 40 lower perfect for Paxton But Turbo would Be T*ts!!
What would be a quess on the hp
No idea tbh. 400 ish NA? Boosted no idea.
I've had my 393w on the stand for a year or so, arp main and head studs but stock football rod bolts. On the fence on putting arps n place of the rod bolts. What would yall do?.....making around 1000hp
Im curious, thats your compression ratio
11.5-12 to 1.. it will be on E85 thats already setup in the car its going in
What’s the weight difference on that beast. 😂. Compared to a 302?
75-80 lbs. normally 351w swap vs 302
that cast crank is the weak spot
Rods too! Just a budget build. That’s all. Little different that my other stuff
im just hating lol leave the boost alone
I think the weak spot is the block..... After a rod let's go from too much whiskey throttle under boost.
I don't remember what the cam is but I think it'll make from 440-470 at the crank.
@@richdouche8253 I’d be suprised if it ever broke
I will be fine. Send it.
Only 10 psi 😂 that will change soon lol
i mean.. lol
I see 1 BAR in it's future...only logical!😅
@@jondahl3173 You mean 3 bar.. stop it lol
Mmmmmm, what you gonna do with those heads...I think they are too small...as with a GT40 anything on this motor.
i dont disagree however we gonna send it with what we got. Whole purpose of this build wasnt to spend a bunch of money on it. It will still be better than a built 302
This thing should have a torque curve that'll be brutal under boost...be careful!
@@jondahl3173 With a small wheel on turbo to boot! There your not wrong. Only 12 degrees allowed at that range lol.
@@Neomustangs Is a tune by rpm boost curve feasible?
