    Interesting that I stumbled across this video. I just built a budget 387. Eagle crank, truck rods, icon forged slugs. Comp xfi stroker cam, Victor jr alum. Heads. Ported air gap intake. 1-7/8 headers, 750 dp. Makes about 500/500 runs awesome in my fairmont wagon. I had to run oversized main bearings with that eagle crank to get a clearance that I felt comfortable with. I plan to hit mine with 100-150 shot for street shenanigans.

    Interesting build. I remember years ago when stroker cranks weren't common place. A 400 clevor was the go to small block stroker of the day........351w block, 400 ford crank machined to fit the windsor journals, and Cleveland heads. I'm sure things are much simpler today. 😄

    • @albertgaspar627
      @albertgaspar627 Год назад +1

      what he's building is the 393 Windsor Ford offered as a crate engine, but without the .030 overbore. but what you're talking about, yeah, the stroker you made yourself was a tall deck Windsor's truck crank offset ground to a 300 I6 or 318 mopar connecting rod to make 377 cid with 350 turbo pistons. Or the 400 Clevor you mentioned, but many just hopped up the 400M with an Edelbrock intake dual plane. Now we convince folks that a cast stroker crank is stronger than an OEM cast crank. and the Foxbody led to enough good aftermarket heads the Clevor's just a memory.

    • @Neomustangs
      @Neomustangs  Год назад +3

      CLEVOR is not a memory for me. Its something i would build on the channel one day im sure. See sourcing those parts out is tough vs just doing the formula i am doing here with the other 387. Plus the machine work now a days cost to get that all ground and set right just woudl be mroe than the $300 spent on a cast steel crank 3.85..

    • @EPstroker
      @EPstroker Год назад

      @@albertgaspar627 I wasn't familiar with the 300/6 rods. But I remember a Hoge podge of 318 rods, 350 chev pistons, BB chev valves and roller rocker arms etc etc. People would use what was around back in the day to make something exotic. 😂
      I always just hopped up a 400. But the performer 400 intakes hit a wall at 5500 rpm.....and are done and out of breath at 6000 rpm. 😂

      Unless you got at least a .60 overbore, a 2.08 valve will shroud the cylinder. The Windsor jr's have a 1.94 I think. That's not too shabby honestly. He'll probably make around 400hp and have a nice torque curve. That's perfect in my opinion. Definitely make more power with more camshaft thought. A 3.85 stroke will utilize more duration than 218/228 @ .50 he needs more like a 240/250 @ .50 to really take advantage of the extra stroke but you know it's all what your desired operating ranges are too.. do you really want to be screaming 4k rpm going down the highway at 65/70mph or do you want something street friendly that's going to make as much power as comfortably possible lol

    • @Mustang_Chris
      @Mustang_Chris Год назад

    That crank is a straight drop in with no machining needed?

      I mean balance needs to be looked at as it would be with any stroker build.. but ya

    • @DWBmotorsports
      @DWBmotorsports Год назад

      I wouldn’t say straight drop in. I had to search in the midst of Covid for oversized main bearings on this crank in my 387 build. With stock sized bearings on mains the clearance was .0015” which is no bueno to me. It’s a common thing I guess with these Eagle cheapo cranks.

    Why in the hell are you even setting the cam on the ground let alone dragging it around on the concrete?
    You should know better than that
    I was ready to check out this build cause I’ve never heard of a 387 Stroker but seeing how you treat the cam makes me question your knowledge.
    You hang out around a machine shop and I guarantee someone there said get that cam off the ground now and then inspected it and probably neither of the cams was used if they seen the B cam get drug across the concrete 🤦‍♂️
