      My buddy just installed an inline catch can on his 2019 F150 ecoboost. Apparently the engine sensors become fouled quickly by oil contamination and having one of these on the vehicle helps to reduce engine maintenance. But I was wondering... if you use an oil separator with the system why can't you have the separated oil drain back into the sump? resolving the need to drain the unit manually?
      Not knowing how frequently one would need to empty the oil can... I don't know if this is just a lot of work for nothing. It it normal to only have to dump the oil tank at oil changes a couple times a year? or is it more frequent than that?
      And if this is a good thing, why don't car mfgs install oil breather/separator systems from the factory?

    • @Prestiged_peck
      @Prestiged_peck 4 года назад

      @@djdonohue the oil in the catch can will be highly acidic because of the chemicals introduced by blow by, and also likely will contain some water, so it's almost as bad an idea as draining your coolant reservoir into the oil pan. The idea behind it is to keep this junk from going back into the intake and fouling plugs while still allowing the engine to pull vaccum

    • @Prestiged_peck

      Can we see a 4.6 build versus a coyote build? I hear the 4.6 can hold more boost than the coyote

    • @djdonohue
      @djdonohue 4 года назад

      @@Prestiged_peck -Makes sense. In the old days we used to run all the overflows into one (puke)tank and dump whatever was in there after a day of 1/4 mile.
      I just wondered if an "Oil Separator" actually separated usable oil that could be recirculated. Guess the short answer is no.

    On a 351 it doesn't always need to be notched for a stroker. It depends on the rod and bolts used. My stock block 408 cleared fine with Eagle h beams and ARP 2000 bolts but not with the L19 bolts (heads are too big). Doesn't matter though since the block will spit the main caps out before the rod bolts even know whats going on.

    • @MRGF78
      @MRGF78 2 года назад

      Less counterweight to spin, so rotating mass= less crank resistance... more possible rpms... higher rpms=more horsepower on a not so big engine through more aggressive gearing... one drawback is that it creates more vibration, which tends to loosen bolts that aren't properly torqued... the new corvette engine has a flat plane crank and is able to reach 8,600rpms... making more hp than the previous engine which was bigger... BUT... the low end torque isn't there like the previous engine with the crossplane crankshaft...

    Most of this video is a commercial for a million dollars in machine shop equipment. Which is stupid because shop owners don’t have time to watch Tv shows. Leave a comment in the ‘shit-talker box’ below.

      Well, then...maybe...learn math?? If that's to hard, just stick to videos with ricers and eurotrash gettin rebuilt. Or better yet, if you really want to keep watching videos of real engines...get used to the standard system. You got some options either way.

    When clearing the block for increasing the stroke why mark it. Its all Geometry no secret or mystery just dial the mill out to clear the swing same for every cylinder and you are done.

      Jon Jenkins they marked it because they said u could also do it on the engine stand with a carbide bit probably on a Dremel by hand if necessary.

    OMG, you stroke for torque and destroke for speed....Makes me not even willing to watch, look up rod ratio

      Bore=power, stroke=torque. Short stroke, big bore engines are high revving, high power, but low torque.

    No replacement for displacement how funny.2jz has been proving that wrong for 20 years.even if you understand the basics of motors you know you don't need big displacement funny as
