ok fine i'll suggest an idea too while we're at it: punch out contender mode but little mac loves shiny objects (little mac can only use attacks that will reward stars along with using star uppercuts, he'll also allow himself to get hit if an attack is bright and shiny such as super macho man's triple clothesline attack)

Not sure about that. While the time it takes for the opponent to get up is mostly dependant on how fatigued they are (total knockdowns), i'm pretty sure there is an added time for when the opponent is knocked down with a star punch as the finishing blow. This would probably be most useful for health recovery through shaking the wii mote.
As the opponents do have a set amount of knockdowns they need to suffer throught the fight to be truly knocked out (either the count reaches 10 or the special animation plays outright), they are always capped to get up at 9 seconds regardless of circumstances.
Doesn't mean the coincidence is any less funny.

@@charlescalvinfromtriplethr9712 That's the case for most of the World Circuit. Soda Popinski and Bald Bull will default to a pushback and recover instantly even if they were still stunned, ending the combo instantly. And while Mr Sandman has to be hit with hooks during stun, the stun has to be started with a jab first.
The only other cases where jabs are required are King Hippo and Title defense Bear Hugger (the latter being hookable when you jumpstart the real stun with a star punch). Everyone else can just be hooked regularly, with the only caveats being some star openings only working with jabs.

The 3-star punch *cheat* is when the 3-star punch is activated all the time, regardless of stars collected

I've been wondering, what causes the bumps and lost teeth on your opponent's faces? is it damage? Number of punches? Specifically to the face or do gut punches also cause face damage?
And follow-up : how small of a plastic surgery bill can you give each opponent when beating them by KO/TKO?

5:43 this is the second time i see this bear hugger animation, the first time was in the Bumbles McFumbles video about cheating in this game, i tough it was a bug or something like that because in no other video about punch out bear hugger does that roll when getting hit by an uppercut.

Glass Joe went from being a joke character to being a complete nightmare. You could throw star punches... but how would you go about doing that? You can't get stars unless you hit him, but he's fully armoured, and thus, impossible to hit. He was finally able to use his "Maginot Line" properly, and was successfully able to defeat Mac, but only because HE opted to surrender. From that day on, no one dared to laugh at Glass Joe again, for his iron will and steel barriers have triumphed over even the champion of champions.
I wanted to see how Sandman would be like since you need body blows to stun him
