Sandman's TKO has Mac punch him *three* times before he hits the ground. The rest of the cast has Mac throwing a single punch. Soda Popisnki is another brutal TKO. The tallest boxer in the game gets hit so hard that he falls to the ground immediately.

12 years later, and this game is still getting attention among the RUclips gaming community, and it is great. Curiois if you can do the countdown animations. I remember seeing one where Soda Popinski pulls out a bottle with zero soda in it in his countdown defeat. Also, gotta love Glass Joe's 8-bit sounds.
About that soda popinski knock out thing I belive that happens if you just keep knocking him down again and again. Not like TKO aka triple knock out but every time you knock him down for each round to the point were he just runs out of soda

When he gets knocked out by a jab he doesn't go flying, he turns around, tumbles and then falls, and if knocked out by a hook, he just gags and falls to the ground. He is 298 pounds of pure muscle and it shows. And at 9:50, the trumpets for Doc's game over theme are the same ones used for Von Kaiser's game over theme.
Bald Bull’s KO animation is just perfect. The bright lights, the loud, but distorted sounds of the audience, and the thundering crash as Bald Bull hits the canvas.
Bear Hugger's KO animation still stands as my favorite. Feels like the punch really lands with the KO punch here and the animation that follows is pretty damn good too.

While a shot to the head will knock someone out, a shot to the body keeps them awake, and it's painful. The body shots that knock out people do so because they are the type of pain that paralyzes a person. That's why you see boxers immediately clutch their bodies as they go down - the pain is so great that they can't do anything but hold onto themselves out of instinctual self preservation. And they're fully conscious through that, unable to move due to the pain.
Glass Joe's downing animation if you knock him out with a gut punch look legitimately painful, like yeah all the fighters are getting their shit wreaked but the look on his face really sells the "I've just had my vertebrae shot out my back like an upside down PEZ dispenser" look y;know
I gotta say when you punch your opponent in the gut multiple times, the bass drum audio gives that attack more powerful and devastating. Combine that with the cool animations and honestly, that feels more satisfying than a star punch.

I gotta say when you punch your opponent in the gut multiple times, the bass drum audio gives that attack more powerful and devastating. Combine that with the cool animations and honestly, that feels more satisfying than a star punch.
