Since I got the Tayga it's been pretty much my go to truck for most jobs due to how well it handles mud. I kept the Paystar around since it's one of the few trucks that can have a crane, flatbed, and still tow a trailer. Finally retired the Paystar when I noticed that Freightliner 114SD could do the same thing and had slightly bigger tires and seemed to pull a bit better.
@@tylerkoch5255 WTF wrong with your eyes? In water test they both have seismic vibrator. And there also frame addon list where seismic vibrator available for noth vehicles.
A couple of things I have noticed with the Paystar. Those mud tyres are pretty good for traction, but make it's wheelbase a little narrower and make it more prone to tipping. There are offroad dually tyres for it that are wider than the standard highway and all terrain ones, which make it more stable. You can see that they hang out past the mudguards where the highway and all terrain dually tyres don't. Their traction isn't as good as the mud tyres, but they are still very good. You can also get the offroad dually tyres with chains. It's not a very powerful truck and it struggles to accelerate with heavy loads, or when off road, or when climbing hills. With the basic and offroad gearboxes it's often can't get out of 1st gear in auto mode while off road, especially if it's carrying a load. However the highway gearbox has closer gear ratios, which means you can get into 2nd and sometimes even 3rd while off road with a load. You lose the extra low gears, but you have High so you don't go too fast on road and it's able to get through the tracks faster because it's not always stuck in 1st or low. The highway box also gives it better fuel economy.
Yes but the paystar does not do that well in mud compared to the other American off-road counterparts. Without the off-road gearbox it could end badly.
I haven't had any problem with it, it's not as good as the ANK. But I think it's pretty competitive with the rest of the American trucks. I don't usually use the offroad gearbox anyway, it hurts the fuel economy too much.
One thing I have about it is it's pulling power...Once you loaded it up with a trailer or semi-trailer..it struggles on slopes also you can't upgrade engine on this thing.
@@SirKaldar I tested it multiple times in the North Port mud pit and the drowned lands swamp. Paystar gets stuck every time without load. The Freightliner 114sd for example does not have mud tires but it can traverse much easier without getting stuck and can traverse without winching in low -. Not sure why. They are very similar vehicles.
@@SirKaldar Also, for the American vehicles being able to compete with the Russian vehicles you kinda need the off road gearbox. The extra low and high gear make a huge difference since you don't get mud tires on most trucks. Can determine whether you get stuck or not. Nice Video again I found more differences in deep mud between the 2 trucks, I don't understand why I don't get the same result as yours In my test (close to North Port), the Tayga can go through deep mud but Paystar always stucks
Personally I think a better comparison would have been the ANK versus the Tayga because the Paystar has switchable AWD and Diff Lock while the Tayga and ANK both have full lock all the time
Tayga wins fairly. International Paystar is a formidable truck but in this game Tayga and Azov wipe out the competition. Paystar was designed for highway, not for offroad.
Haven’t even been to Russia yet, but figured the Tayga would stomp the Paystar based on previous comments....looks like I better pack up for a scouting trip to Taymyr 🧳 Gonna look for the Tatarin while I am over there too 🤠
Hedgehobbit It’s my game to ‘ruin’ however I please...for me, that means scouting all of the maps out completely before getting heavily the tasks and contracts
I finished all the tasks in the game, from my experience most of the American trucks worse than the Russian in the stability, they can be easily flipped
The proper scientific process is to make all possible variables equal. The Mud test was not taken seriously. The tests could have easily been conducted without handicapping the Tayga.
@@evilsithlord8489 I'm happy for you. I can't recover any cargo in Russia (where I need to use a 2nd truck with a crane), because the cargo just clips through the truck. I also can't take scout vehicles with me on a large trailer, like they showed in the game trailer :/
Hedgehobbit in game the Tayga blows it out of the water. He tests everything in low gear which is stupid imo, the tayga has full time awd and diff lock, it can drive literally anywhere in auto or high gear without ever using low. The versatility and traction it has mixed with speed is not even close, and it has all of the same attachments so idk wtf you’re talking about with that. The only thing it can’t do is use a crane at the same time as a bed, doesn’t qualify as a “lack of options”
Everyone is saying that the Paystar sucks while it's one of my main trucks. Great thing! Just don't equip the raised suspension- you don't need it with the clearance it already has.
Maybe you should start all tests in auto and shift to low if truck starts to struggle? In personal experience I found that the more upgrades I unlocked, the time I use low gear became lower and lower. Most of the time it's auto and high to just power push. Low used only when tires start to make big splashes. I even started to change gear box from offroad to highway, cause with best tires/engine/etc single low is enough to get out from bad spot, but the high gear will be much faster. The fact that some trucks can only use diff in low gear makes a big change in performance. Going with good speed on high with highway gear and working diff/awd is much better, than shifting to low+ and crawl with diff/awd btw these 51" monster mud tires on Tayga made the final line for me))) Before I was testing tayga against voron and azov, but the moment I unlocked these babies....oh boy)))
The Tyga is soo OP, never got stuck, even if it appears you are stuck, u just make minor adjustment and it unstucks itself. And its the easiest truck to save.
If you take of the spare wheel on the Tayga it can have both the crane and platbed at the same time. Although if you do that you can’t attach trailers.
I usually prefer the White Western Star instead of the Paystar. The Whitestar is slow, sure. But it's not as tall, it's wide and it's stable. Plus the Whitestar can have actual mud tires on it.
The white western star is better on offroad, but is not very fast on basic or offroad gearbox.Catepillar is way more faster because is more like a road truck.
I think this test should've included a "tipping" comparison. Im sorry but these are the most opposite off road truck you can compare when it comes to navigating trails. The Paystar even with a normal suspension is super unstable and spends more time on its side than a fish out of water where the Tayga is like twice as wide AND lower to the ground which means its probably better for playing this game and doing missions even if it failed all other tests...which as a Russian truck in a video game would be impossible.
A comparison/debunk I would like to see is if front bumper customization add-ons give any benefit to front end damage protection and if there is a superior front bumper add-on. I swear after putting on some customization upgrades with big reinforced bumpers, that I take less engine damage when smashing down in to ditches or direct front end collisions with objects. Could just be a placebo.
Thanks for this vid. For now im gonna buy the paystar bcoz for a low level like me it will help me a lot to a difficult tasks. But i'll buy tayga eventually 😄
now that raised suspension is out for the Veron 43, i can attest to its performance against the tayga, althought i hardly used the tayga all the Veron's imho, out performed the tayga! tayga was better because of the raised suspension and the bigger tires until we could equip the bigger tires on the Veron 43! things i found with the new upgrade! less damage! less down shifting! and much faster with off road gear box while pulling, the truck is a beast now! good bye tayga! p.s. i think some of your comparisons are irrelevant because there are 6 classes of trucks and clearly they don't perform doing certain tasks in certain terrain! although i love your video's keep em coming! just my $0.02 worth of blah-blah!
If you sell all your vehicles (trucks) and unused trailers you unlock in the first region, you will have all the money if not more to buy the paystar 5070 from the get go and you can upgrade it too Thus making it the best truck for the begging of the game
The Tayga winning-out over the Paystar was obvious. A better comparison would have been the Tayga to the Voron Grad. They are basically the same truck. Same fuel capacity, same frame add-ons, same inability to pull a pintle-hitch trailer while loading crane and flatbed frame are attached. The differences between the two are that the Grad has selectable Diff/AWD instead of full-time and the Tayga has a 1" larger tire diameter. Turning-off Diff/AWD gives a huge fuel economy increase but extra tire diameter gives an advantage in deep mud. It would be interesting to see how the two compare in your tests.
You should change the way to measure the full throttle fuel consumption. Sometimes I got up to 24 l/min in the Tayga you should put in low gear with handbrake on and accelerate.
I did international first and tayga later, I didn't knew that tayga can't have that addon and it's really time consuming to do a test again, I have to modify the truck again and restart the map to reset terrain and goto test area which is a lot of work.
SD1ONE you should redo the tests to help people out who are new and don’t know better. It’s good for your rep too as it will show you care about accurate and fair tests. I think you should drive the trucks in a straight line only to not help them out, the bumpers also affect clearance why did you change them?

Please do Paystar vs White Western, great videos man.
A lot closer that what I expected.... Thought Tayga would outclass the Paystar, and it did, but not by much.
Would have love to see the test with the same type of tires on both trucks. Thanks for the tests SD1ONE.
Personally I think a better comparison would have been the ANK versus the Tayga because the Paystar has switchable AWD and Diff Lock while the Tayga and ANK both have full lock all the time
The ANK also has the same 51" tires.
Hedgehobbit yeah even if they aren’t the crazy ones that are twice as wide it still does in fact have 51s
Still love the paystar. My dad was a big fan of them growing up and the truck might be a little slow, but it's a work horse
Tayga is freaking amazing, i got alot done with that truck.
Tayga wins fairly.
International Paystar is a formidable truck but in this game Tayga and Azov wipe out the competition.
Paystar was designed for highway, not for offroad.
these were my main trucks for a while
Can you show all the trucks that can have crane and bed at the same time?
Haven’t even been to Russia yet, but figured the Tayga would stomp the Paystar based on previous comments....looks like I better pack up for a scouting trip to Taymyr 🧳 Gonna look for the Tatarin while I am over there too 🤠
For the Tayga you can find it and its yours, but you have to compete the geosearch missions first. Good luck!
You're just ruining the game. There's a limited amount of gameplay and fast tracking to end game trucks just makes this worse.
Hedgehobbit It’s my game to ‘ruin’ however I please...for me, that means scouting all of the maps out completely before getting heavily the tasks and contracts
Paystar did much better than I was expecting
The video: again those balloon tires are loving swamp: the tires this is some good mud
I finished all the tasks in the game, from my experience most of the American trucks worse than the Russian in the stability, they can be easily flipped
I had no problem with the cat but the Royal and Paystar omg if i had a nickel 😂
Paystar is also one of a few trucks that can haul cargo on a flatbed/sideboard bed and tow a trailer
Thumbs up for the hanging Paystar!
The proper scientific process is to make all possible variables equal. The Mud test was not taken seriously. The tests could have easily been conducted without handicapping the Tayga.
The tayga had huge balloon mud boggers and the paystar had off-road tires
Let's hope the devs fix the collision issues soon so this game is fully playable for solo players!
I’ve completed the game solo. I didn’t have any issues that would keep me from doing so.
@@evilsithlord8489 I'm happy for you. I can't recover any cargo in Russia (where I need to use a 2nd truck with a crane), because the cargo just clips through the truck. I also can't take scout vehicles with me on a large trailer, like they showed in the game trailer :/
I’m predicting tayga will stomp the paystar
Just look at the wheels! Look at the fucking wheels!
Well, you were wrong.
@@Hedgehobbit actually no
@Allosaurus 67 The Tayga was slightly faster in a couple of challenges but that still doesn't make up for the Tayga's lack of frame options.
The paystar keeps up pretty well. Getting the game in a day and i will be using the paystar in the beginning.
Going with good speed on high with highway gear and working diff/awd is much better, than shifting to low+ and crawl with diff/awd
btw these 51" monster mud tires on Tayga made the final line for me))) Before I was testing tayga against voron and azov, but the moment I unlocked these babies....oh boy)))
Are you using a mod because I just checked on the PS4 and the Tayga can't equip both a crane and flatbed even without a spare tire.
I usually prefer the White Western Star instead of the Paystar. The Whitestar is slow, sure. But it's not as tall, it's wide and it's stable. Plus the Whitestar can have actual mud tires on it.
Could you do a comparison between the Caterpillar CT680 and the White Western Star
The white western star is better on offroad, but is not very fast on basic or offroad gearbox.Catepillar is way more faster because is more like a road truck.
@@issmec6070 *e n g l i s h*
The cat ct crushes EVERYTHING. Use highway gear box, put it in high and let it eat 👊
@@eazyfnduzit yeah, that thing runs on Eurobeat or something, it's just sooo fast !
new vs new, old vs old only. The CAT vs Freightliner must be
Paystar has that badass honk though
1:40 That's the Mudrunner engine sound, I love it :)
Should do Tayga vs Voron Grad. That would be an even match
No, Grad that shit, basic 4380 the best
The Tayga is obviously better, but I love my paystar, was my first offroad truck in the game ^^
8:00 Paystar completely in air.... puts brakes on anyway. 😂
The higher ones def help for more ground clearance. I’ve noticed the lower one take more damage
One big thing about the paystar i love is the bumper height alot taller than the tayga
Thanks for this vid. For now im gonna buy the paystar bcoz for a low level like me it will help me a lot to a difficult tasks. But i'll buy tayga eventually 😄
You can recover Tayga for free early in the game. Google it bro
@@Karl-sq5ng thnks bro
Was waiting on the Paystar👍
The Paystar is so good, I've used it the most. It got me through and through.
Love the video keep up with the great work
now that raised suspension is out for the Veron 43, i can attest to its performance against the tayga, althought i hardly used the tayga all the Veron's imho, out performed the tayga! tayga was better because of the raised suspension and the bigger tires until we could equip the bigger tires on the Veron 43! things i found with the new upgrade! less damage! less down shifting! and much faster with off road gear box while pulling, the truck is a beast now! good bye tayga!
p.s. i think some of your comparisons are irrelevant because there are 6 classes of trucks and clearly they don't perform doing certain tasks in certain terrain!
although i love your video's keep em coming!
just my $0.02 worth of blah-blah!
If you sell all your vehicles (trucks) and unused trailers you unlock in the first region, you will have all the money if not more to buy the paystar 5070 from the get go and you can upgrade it too
Thus making it the best truck for the begging of the game
Tayga is called a Tayga king for a reason. its litterly the best truck
Can u please do a video where you show what is the diferent between offroad tipe tires?
He alredy has that video, check the channel
@@frieds0ul270 not it hasn't I mean to do the tipe 1 vs tipe 2vs tipe 3 on the same tire class
ZIKZ 5368 vs International Loadstar 1700 pls
Wouldn’t ZIKZ vs Chevy Kodak c70 be better?
@@theorangeofallahpbuh1840 mb, never tried Kodak actually
Killernomka same, it seems like one of the worse trucks considering it only has 4 wheels
This is a late game truck vs a beginner truck. Make no mistake, the Playstar is arguably the best truck you can get when you first start.
Those mud tyres!!!
Tayga remains king!
I'd like to know how the 3 Voron's stack up against eachother :o
Tayga is a tougher, faster more durable truck than Paystar and the snow runner known tires just make it that much better 💪👍
SD1...also wanted to say that the testing consistency was greatly improved in this one, much appreciated! 👍🏻
Too funny!
your editing is sick man
You should change the way to measure the full throttle fuel consumption. Sometimes I got up to 24 l/min in the Tayga you should put in low gear with handbrake on and accelerate.
Yep, 24.6 in High Gear under load.
I think the pay star is the better beginner truck
Saw the Russian mud tires and already knew who won.
ChancellorLott06 paystar
@@derpychicken7598 paystar has no advantages except the crane wdym
Derpy Chicken don’t get me wrong I love my paystar
It ain't the Tayga with the performance, but those tires. They're OP AF.
The Cat vs Tayga would be a more interesting comparison
Chained tires in mud ???
3:02 if they can both have the same attachment installed, why didn’t you put the scanner thing on the international? 🤔
@@calebsaruk3527 No worries, I'll make a top 10 or top 5 trucks in game video soon...Once I complete the game only alaska region is left now to complete
@SD1ONE nice can’t wait! Have fun in the snow!
Mod vs mod would be cool to watch
You didn't do an equal amount of upgrades, also frame add-ons lower power to weight and gearboxes change durability
Hard decision for me considering that I really enjoy both of these trucks
Tayga's tires are to die for.
Those 51" mud wheels on the Tayga look awesome !
TAYGA!
I would love to see a closer comparison, like royal bm17 vs paystar 5070
Both have their pros and cons but would be interesting to see which is better on which cases.
Tbh i like the tayga cuz of the horn
Awesome video!
For this to be fair they have to have the same tires like you would think that's common sense but then on the ice challenge you gave them the same tires so why wouldn't you do the same for all the mud challenges obviously those fat wide swamp tires are going to do a better job
