PayStar is alright if your starting off, once you gain a few levels and upgrades though I'd dump it quickly in favour of the White Western Star, which is going to be one of the best trucks in all Michigan and Alaska and will last you right up until Taymir where you start getting into vehicles like the Tayga, Voron's and especially Azov's.
Also apparently if your on any platform other then Epic, you can get access to the Navistar which is a amazing truck. And I bet the Navi can go anywhere the Paystar can go even though it lacks diff-lock. Biggest issuewith Navi is very limited addon's (spare wheel, cranem saddles) so you'd need to make heavy use of trailers t get stuff done. But still it's a contender.

this is a surprising truck, has great offroad capabilities, useful even in difficult maps like imandra. Most people use heavy brutes like kolobs for big rig missions, try 5070 for once you will be well surprised how fast it pulls a bulky semitrailer with high saddle. Much faster than a p12 or p16, then you realize you don't really need a heavy truck for semitrailer missions.

The problem with the American trucks that have mud tires is that they are the mhs 1’s. You have to sacrifice 1/3 of your off-road performance for a marginal increase in mud. Most of the time your better off with the off-road tires in my opinion.

    • @NProvince

    Hell Yeah!!! Roll that tape…😎
In my opinion the Paystar 5070 in a lot of scenarios is actually better than the Tayga.
And believe it or not but the custom Tayga mud tires are an American invention and where I live in WI they are used in farming quite a bit. Not to sound like an A-@&$” but since most of the devs are Russian that explains the whole mud tire situation. God forbid the American truck is better than the Russian one. But they don't need really need it. Except for areas with the deepest mud, OHD1 tires will do the job as good as the MHS2. For the mud deathtraps you will require better tools, but knowing that for the overall off-road I don't really need mud tires expands a lot some trucks usability.

Thank you for the video. I like your style, your approach and attitude.
On this one, I actually sold the 5070 recently because the attachment for the trailer is too deep into the truck bed and the corners of the trailer and the truck addition touch each other, causing issues, especially in turns. That happened to me both with the sideboard bed and the sideboard trailer, and with the medium logs addition and trailer.
Other than that, yes, having mud tires on an American truck is great.
Thank you again for this and all your other great reviews

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Год назад +1

Ya that happens with some trucks that can attach all three of those together. I actually use the 5070 as a low saddle hauler that I explain on my trailer review why some trucks should use the low saddle over the standard sideboard/crane and hitch. Overall I do think the OHD1s are gonna be your best bet with this truck which I did explain in my mudrunning tips video as well. Thank you soo so very much for this awesome comment! Really glad you have enjoyed the truck and these reviews

      @@NProvince thank you so much.
Well this is what happened: I just moved from Michigan to Alaska today. So much mud. Suddenly the 5070 found its rightful place in my roster thanks to his DMHS I which seem to be working pretty well to me. I just have to keep in mind to not attach a trailer, and the truck will make sense. Yes, now I see what you meant about the low saddle.
Also, I must admit: first day of exploring a whole new map is so exciting, after the last days spent driving up and down Smithville Dam (so annoying that there is no garage in Drummond Island or Island Lake). I can't wait to see what the game has in store for me. I followed the advice I heard more than once (once from you too, right?) to stay in Michigan for as long as I could. So I did, and moved to Alaska when I was level 18. Happy days.

I had purchased some of the DLC and whatnot so I had access to more trucks than just a normal game would give. For that I didn't see the need to spend the cash on buying this truck in the early game. Frankly that goes for all non-free trucks. Eventually I will own each one.

Really enjoyed your in-depth analysis of this truck. Like you, I bought it early on as I was learning the game, trading in my old GMC and a scout. I used it in the rescue of the White Western Star, and the two trucks made my team for completing Michigan and Alaska. I did learn, once they unlocked, that the dual tires on Paystar made it so much more stable than the single mud tires. I had to be extremely careful on the original mud tires, although they did allow me to complete missions no other truck could do. Now I am halfway through the Kola maps and I have used the Tayga much more- but Paystar was always the hardest worker in my fleet.

In the comments you keep mentioning the OHD 1 tires even though he has mud tires available? Are they the better choice for him in terms of rating or because of stability?
