They made the "commodore", called the caprice in 2012, which was not advertised enough.. but they're a badass car. Of course, I agree, we need more rwd cars. More fun, and more durable

One of the most important things about doing a project is to have your own vision and just make it happen. Don't listen to the knock talkers because they can't see what you are doing. Let them see it when it's done.
When I find free time I'll be doing a rwd conversion on my 01 Deville. I'd like to keep the irs and all electronics. Maybe use cts parts in the back. I've got other 💩 taking up my time.

As Mitchell can attest- doing filming PLUS building is a PITA and is a definite skill set. Not everyone has those skills. What this man did have, was vision & the desire to " get it done". It was impressive enough just to see what he had actually done.
as long as you can re engineer an entire rear suspension anything is easy.its called back halving and has been done millions of times.you need to cut out the rear floor,make frame rails(everything needs to be perfectly parallel in two directions),make suspension points accurately,make shock mounts accurately,make a trans cross member,make a driveshaft,make the rear end work with ijt all....it sure aint easy or a weekend project

The man needs to invest in a shop, I know people who would pay some serious money to have their favorite FWD GM cars RWD V8 swapped. This week alone another guy did a 5.3 monte carlo and another guy with a 6.0 grand prix. Someone should try this on a pontiac G6 with a G8/GTO drivetrain
For real though you should be interviewing and showing the sleeper/unusual racecars in the world. I think we all want to see crazy and home built rides more often but not many channels are strictly doing that, and racing on the side of course haha.

That is awesome! Not a Chevy guy, but Impalas were always one of my favorite cars from the mid 90s SS to the 60s boats. This is a sweet swap, and so simple! Ultimate sleeper.

GM sign this guy up! I have a 2003 LS & have had a 2004 & 2005. The '96 SS is the last true Impala. This is why Impala plummeted in sales. True Chevy Impala lovers have always been supporters of RWD w/positve traction. It's supposed to be a muscle car for God's sake! Salute! 👍💯

Too rich of a combustion mixture, seeped by the rings, dislodged them when the oil film was gone after a hard pull, so were the rings.
I still want to get my hands on another Grand Prix. I used to have a '99 and an '00 with supercharged 3.8's and I've always wanted to do the rwd thing with one, prolly stay 3800 powered though. I don't have one of those cars anymore but I kept a couple nice hoods that I had and I do want to build one some day. Right now I've got a '90 VW and and Rx8

All my builds have been completed because of all the people saying “it cant be done or you dont know what you are doing” then 6 months later its a low 6sec 1/8 mile car with a stock 5.0 and freightliner turbo with a 150shot of intercooler

That's pretty cool, I always liked that body style but the FWD always ruined it. Knowing that, it opens up much more possibilities for those cars.

All my builds have been completed because of all the people saying “it cant be done or you dont know what you are doing” then 6 months later its a low 6sec 1/8 mile car with a stock 5.0 and freightliner turbo with a 150shot of intercooler
I got an 05 Impala, that just blew a head gasket. After seeing this video,, I'm definitely thinking about chunking at V6 out into the garbage. And then put a LS in it. God bless
