Installing a Wing on my Saturn Sky - Part 1

In this video, I will do a partial installation of the wing I purchased from CarID. Since I'll be painting the rear deck lid with Plastidip, I needed to line up and drill the holes for the wing first. This video shows you how I did that.

Mike, where in Nashville are you located? In Thompsons Station and repurchased a weekend driver 2008 Redline in the fall, been sitting in garage all winter. Now starting to do some upgrades and add-ons before the spring. What cars and coffee do you attend, would like to come see what you've done
Mike thanks for all your videos - my problem : I have a 2009 red line so after taking to a gm dealer when it was under warranty for the emergency brake 3 times for not working , the last time they told me it's out of adjustment and I have no e-brake and they didn't tell me what needed to be done to fix it - any advice will be greatly appreciated , thanks
If it's still under warranty, I would take it to a brake shop instead. Most auto places will do warranted work as well. I did that with my daughter's car. I believe you'll just need some work done on the actual rear brakes to get it adjusted. But I'm not a brake expert. if you're not already a member, join the Sky/Solstice Facebook group. Looking for the Part II of the Stage II upgrade with the injector swap. It doesn't seem to be on your channel.
When I try to put my top down and press the release it always gets stuck, is there something I can put on it so the trunk releases when the fob is pressed?
Hi Mike this is Dave in Michigan that's the first thing I did when I got my sky I bought it off e bay my car is chili pepper red and I had it painted black to match the interior and roof i installed non factory graphics that are black so it matches also love my Saturn sky t shirt thanks for providing the link to buy it can't wait for spring in Michigan so I can drive it again
Awesome. I love the Chili Pepper red color. I've been kicking around whether I'll be painting mine with the Plastidip color or not. It depends on how it looks once I'm done painting the car. Stay tuned :)

Hey Mike, agree with all the post-ers. Nice to see you and your videos again! If you do another Kappa run again, do tell! I am unfortunately out in the bay area, so coming out to you might be a challenge, and I baby my Sky, so wouldnt put cross country miles on it. But, who knows... :-) Keep 'em (videos) coming. Thanks for the comments and being a fan. We've been talking about doing another run this spring, but more towards east Tennessee. Maybe you'll just happen to be in the area. BTW, I hope to have another video out soon about using plastidip on my Sky. The painting is almost done...video will be out shortly after that. And then the final install of the wing of course.
Hi Mike ! I really enjoy all the effort you put into your Sky videos. Mine is a 2008 Redline and I've thought about putting the factory wing on mine too.
Nice. I got mine from CarID but you can get it off eBay, Amazon, and other places as well. I hope you do it some day.

Oh yeah. In fact, I sat with him at the 2017 NASSAM banquet. He's a really cool guy. I like his rear valance and fenders. They're on my list, but because of the costs, it may be a while.
I don't even have a Sky and the video was so nice to watch I had to stay anyway! If you have to paint the deck still, why did you drill the holes first? Just curious. :)
Hi Brian. Thanks for sticking around and watching my video. The reason I drilled the holes first is because I'm using a plastidip paint and didn't want the drill bit to tear the paint (since it's removable) while drilling.

Ordered my 07 for 60 birthday,had to wait 4 months ,hard to do.Got a 08 for the wait.when you drilled the holes my heart stopped,I couldn’t do that.Drove it totally around the US pacific coast highway,Texas ,Key WEST,MAIN.
Well, it took me some time to get the confidence, but it wasn't too bad. Like I said in the video, you need to break some eggs to make an omelette. And I really wanted a wing :)
